We have a local carboot that starts at 2 in the afternoon but leaves sellers in to set up at 12 soon as they set up they go around napping all the good stuff lol
Good video Scott man it was tough but we come back with something with sentimental value, my was lockstock vhs box thing an yours was bubble works badge 🔥🔥 that badge triggered off a rabbit hole of good memories that day 👌
Thanks 🙏🏻 Tom much appreciated. Great to see you too. It’s was absolute carnage at the boot sale getting everything out but just wanted to shift it quickly. The best time to sell is first 2 hours as it starts then it’s a slow burn.
I find a lot of carboots are a bust theses days its ever sellers going a round be for it opens or in mine resellers who will pay like £5/6 to go in early its very rare i go theses days
Glad you and Simon found some bits and bobs, Scott. But what a shame the car boot was such a let down. Especially as it was packed with so many buyers.
10AM start should just be the norm for everyone, every week whatever boot sale you go, 5AM is so stupid its unreal. I suppose if you're hardcore enough, 5AM ain't a problem for most, but it's the weekend lol. Let people have a lay in, get themselves ready, not have to stress about making it on time, just quality of life things you shouldn't have to worry about on a weekend basically.
I would say the opposite 10am is not the norm. But for some people the 5am start for buyer and seller is better, I have done both as a seller starting at 5am then going at midday is fair. It’s down to the individual those. Time will tell, I guarantee this boot sale will be finished no more in the next 2 years those.
I totally agree Scott the council will kill this one off as they get so many complaints. If you look at social media, Facebook etc people are constantly moaning about the traffic problems that it causes. I can't be arsed with the queuing to be honest.
@@junglejim99 Yeah, I can see both points. 10AM makes it more accessible for everyone, because there will be just too many resellers going at that time too, more convenient and less time constraints. But then 5AM, you've got a much smaller time window, since you have to be out of your house ridiculously early, but then you have the benefit of not as much compeition as you would at 10. So there are pro's and cons to both. I can't believe you've got people going in the earliest you can to set up too, just to walk around and grab bits off people stalls before the place has even opened up. It's beyond desperate, I hate sometimes that I was even part of that club. I wasn't doing the whole going in to sell and setting up early before the place is even open, I was just a normal bloke turning up whenever a booty started, then just picking out what I could get my hands on, but even just doing what I was doing, wish sometimes I never even done it. Such a fleabag mentality and behaviour lol.
It’s not worth it now. That’s my thoughts. Sellers are in at 8am and have to wait for buyers at 10am. However you got buyers going in as sellers to walk around early at clear up stuff especially around the retro and gaming related items unfortunately
@ScottsRetroCollectables oh that sucks didn't realize people would go in at 8. Maybe worth paying for a stall between you both and clearing up the toys and games early
Always good to get a look round Simon's collection room, jam packed with cool stuff!
Cheers Scott 👍🏻
He needs a bigger room
@@ScottsRetroCollectables Don't we all!

Saw you at last weeks boot sale at hayes nice to buy from you mate👍

I'm not bothering to go to Hayes again. Sellers have a few hours to pick through the stuff before buyers are let in.
Yeah it’s really put me off. Also seeing what some of my friends are picking up going there now is like 1 item!!
Professor Burps bubble works!
Yeah 😂 that’s why I picked it up!!! Absolutely loved that ride!! Sparkling water at the end 😂

Yeah it’s definitely a hard one now mate. It’s all pot luck or early planning
((it's like the boot sale look how packed it is)) talking about the wrestling figures ..
I know it’s ruined it now
Great stuff fella 🤙🔥
Thanks 🙏🏻 mate

Yeah I was gutted they opened it super early too. It felt like chaos but got a few bits and pieces!

i thought hayes moving would be good? you can go pedham//tripes/honey and then go there later?

@@retrobootdisc I sell there once a season so I will definitely film one like that
You need to be an octopus to survive that car boot sale. Hands all over the place....or should that be tentacles?! Hopefully you didn't run of squids.
Yeah it felt very much like full on chaos now unfortunately. It’s definitely a hard one to attend now.
Woody woodpecker went from £2 to £3 up to £10🤢😂😂😂
Yeah I know!! Crazy times!!
Looked like hard work that one mate…. £600k for a one bed😮
I know!! Crazy world!! I will knock it on the head now!
You left mw2 for Xbox it works on new consoles £20 right there
Yeah funny enough I watched back earlier and saw that!!!
