Im from North Carolina which is in the East Coast and I like Reggae music because American Boom Bap still in a way sound similar to Reggae and is still so similar and beside Reggae is like Boom Bap's father because Jamaicans used to Rap, or as they like to call it, sanged to Reggae music in the late 1960's and early 1970's and then Jamaicans brought Reggae Dub to America and then Reggae becomes popular in the USA until eventually a Jamaican alongside African Americans, Latino Americans, and other Caribbean Americans in the East Coast decided to grab Reggae and mix it in and sample typical American musical elements such as Soul, Jazz, R&B, Neo-Soul, Deep Soul, and Funk into Reggae music and then Hip-Hop was born as we all know should kno dat dis is how the Hip-Hop culture began in New York but Trap ( Trap is Hip-Hop music from the South of the East Coast as in Georgia which is a southern state from the East Coast ) would be a better comparison to Dancehall especially Traphall ( If sung in Spanish then it would be called Trapetón ) which is a style of Trap music that has a influence from Dancehall music especially from Dembow which is a style of Dancehall ( Traphall songs that are out there is songs like Unforgettable, La Canción, Controlla, Guatemala, Vete, Barkin, etc. )
