Can jazz piano be more romantic than playing the latin jazz bolero style? I don't think so! I found this amazing music a long time ago when I studied jazz piano and we had a Latin Jazz project. At the time I was also dating a woman that later became my wife. This, off course, may be one of the reasons to why I find the Latin Jazz piano to be so romantic, especially the Bolero style.
I hope you enjoy this little lesson about the latin ballad bolero style.

amazing tutorial, I never noticed how similar Jazz and Boleros actually are, and it's true it does sound quite romantic. I don't quite know which instruments you have in the backing track tho in terms of percussion. sounds great anyway. keep it up!

Great video btw! Indeed, Beloros ARE essentially the most romantic jazz one can imagine. Ruben Blades did a beautiful bolero rendition of his salsa hit 'Siembra'. I play this on guitar. A very good chart is available in 'The Latin Real Book'.

Triplet performing in one band?
Actually, everything you show here can be used for any jazz piano ballade rhythm. I would have expected that this tutorial is focused around rhythm instead of voicings, etc..
3:46 That's NOT A D minor 7 CHORD!!!! NO!!! It's a D sus 13! There isn't even an F in it.
+Edward Morris - thanks. The F was played, but unfortunately sometimes it is not registered in the midi keyboard at the top. If you pause the video, you see that I played the F too.
I don't get it, the 'brothers' thing... ARE you pretending to be brothers... or are you really a triplet of identical siblings who perform as a musical ensemble? I'm assuming the former... but given that the latter is actually possible, it doesn't really work as a joke for me.
