OOC can't stand UA-cam clickbait. Tell us what clickbaity practises annoys you!

Only thing missing is the red circle. It's most annoying to me when an actually good video has a shifty thumbnail
What OSW doesn’t want you to know about the wrestling industry…
".... and its going viral". Fuck off, you don't decide that.
You won't believe what OOC thinks about clickbait!
TOP 5: OOC's favourite clickbait thumbnails
@@ekmadNumber 3 will surprise you!
Doctors hate him! Two actual doctors hate him!
9 tricks about Clickbait V1 doesn't want you to know.
UA-cam HATES these tricks
My least favorite clickbait thing is when wrestling news channels on UA-cam will upload a video that’s titled something like: “major star apologizes to the LGBTQ community” and the thumbnail will be split down the middle where Brock Lesnar is on one side, while the title of the video’s on the other. The thumbnail gives you the indication that Brock had to apologize for old comments, when it turns it was Colton Gunn or whoever apologizing, and the news on Brock is that he’s the highest merch seller this month
Stuff like that make it hard for me to subscribe to wrestling channels.
I love how Jay's face turns into a full blown 'o_O' expression when OOC first describes the thumbnail - it's little touches like that which make McKodem the absolute MVP of these segments
Three words: "IT GETS WORSE". That's basically been the tagline for clickbait recently.
The Denver broncos.... it gets WORSE
"Honest father quit his job in McDonalds for THIS! You won't believe how much he EARNS now."
when this arc started, i didn't think my top pick for quote of the year would ever be "a big red arrow pointing to a plane crashing into a toddler", but here i am now, forever changed
One clickbaity tactic I've noticed is say during a world cup when tv schedules change you get headlines like "This Morning cancelled in massive schedule shake up!!" then causally drop in "this is due to the fifa world cup"
The clickbait tactic that always riles me the most is "the secret that [whomever] DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW!". Appealing to the absolute worst in deluded "everything's a conspiracy" types.
The SECRET Behind THUMBNAILS That UA-cam DOESN'T want you to KNOW!
Random capitalisations annoy the hell out of me. Sometimes, it's literally random words, though. My faux title actually highlights keywords.
You don't know because YOU don't know THE SECRETS!
I love the animated recreations of the thumbnails for Yuri Pollen, TNA Turning Point, and ECW Heatwave 98.
True fans can identify all of them
Everybody's been thinking this for years, it just took OOC saying it to finally get people to come out and say it along with him.
McKodem has been such an integral part of Osw Review and it honestly isn't the same without an animation of some sort from him. Can of Coke to you good sir.
This was my favorite thing from the last episode. Definitely a Golden Nogger contender.
I hope OOC knows how much he's loved by the audience.
I'd argue he knows too much!
he knows.
but he doesn't care! 😱
hashtag #clickbait!
Except when he's wrong about Razor Ramon being mid
The entirety of the Attitude Era was pre-ubiquitous-internet clickbait for remote controls.
'Plane crashing into a toddler' popped me huge.
Every dirt sheet directly taking a quote with no context, and using it to act like something major is happening.
The image of animated Jay and V1 banging buckets and pans gives me so much joy!
Football ones. It would be like "He wants out!!" "Major blow for team as established star heading for exit!!!" You read and it's the Reserve goal keeper.
43 things you didn't know about X. Where they name like 4 facts, all of which were incredibly easy to know by looking it up and the rest are just kind of opinions.
When people post videos with titles like "Thanks for the ride" or "This is it" or "We have to talk" or "Our next move" and it's just the person reflecting on the channel and thanking viewers usually after they've apologised for using said clickbait title.
When they give an interesting headline but then the article takes forever to actually adress the headline. Making me scroll past personal info, history of topic and so many adds only to hide what was mentioned in the middle
You promised me a jetliner crashing into a baby and did not deliver. That aggravates me!
Old Clickbate used to be worse because 90% of the time it was all lies. Now it's just exaggerated or trying to push a point which is like... everyone does that not to catch eyes.
Though my favorite and least favorite clickbait are on Sports related videos like "Top 10 most insane moments in sports history." And it's a footballer sliding on his knees in the grass right into a pit of hell for no reason.
I hate "15 Blanks You've Never Heard Of!" and it's always 14 everyone with a brain has absolutely heard of and 1 that doesn't even fit the category, but you've still heard of it.
PWUnlimited have a "CENA TO BE AT DYNAMITE" article, when they really mean John Cena's dad (who apparently goes to any wrestling in the Boston area).
Incredible. I almost have to admire the audacity of them.
Ha ha! That's hilarious. The audacity 😂
Mike Tyson or Butterbean in countless boxing thumbnails. Often together, e.g. "Mike Tyson's best knockouts", except that they never fought each other.
Remember that stretch a few years ago where every WhatCulture list included JBL beating up the Blue Meanie for real?
and this is why i stopped watching their videos
Most annoying thing for me is when they have a picture for something not even in the video. Like "Most shocking football transfers!", they'll have a pic of ronaldo and that jammy bastard isnt even mentioned once as a shocking transfer.
The clickbait i hate is Disguising mini game/mini games as the real game like hero wars and every pull the pin game ad on youtube
I feel OOC's anger. I can't stand clickbait either.
This segment was amazing, couldn’t stop laughing at the plane crashing into a baby making baby Mario noises
You won’t believe what the cast of “90s show X” look like now!
Older, probably.
"HUGE 9-time WWE champion and TOP NAME LEAVES after MASSIVE backstage confrontation that left him FUMING"
*clicks*
"9 time 24/7 champion [insert lower midcarder] walked out of catering after being told there was no salad left..."
*after they ate all the salad
There's one wrestling news site that sometimes pops up on my feed, and every headline mentions the wrestler by their age, and never by name. Stuff like "38 year old former WWE champion injured at house show." It's such a strange way to attempt clickbait.
Clickbait got my into comics. "Green Lantern Comes Out as Gay". It was the magical Green Lantern from 1940, not the space cop everyone knows. But I still read 80 issues of Green Lantern trying to understand the difference.
My pet hate is when an article is (for example) "Leeds United star found guilty of touching fish"
And it's someone who was in the youth academy in 2004.
Edit: in a wrestling context, any article with the headline "former wwe writer..." as you know 98% of the time it's Vince Russo.
Sportskeeda must have clickbaited Russo being told by Vince McMahon to hire a nanny, about 489,456 times.
For me it's always "Former WWE writer *SHOOTS* on [insert topic]"
@@ekmad who does it tend to be though 😂
It's not really a youtube clickbait, but some articles you see a headline like "Former WWE Superstar reveals his true feelings on CM Punk return" and you click on the article to find out that like Sean Stasiak says he has no strong feelings on the matter.
Woah tell me about Shawn Stasiak this is important 😃
I've found my annoyance of UA-cam clickbait is directly proportional to the amount of whites in the eyes and width of the mouth in the video image.
One of my favorite plugins for Firefox is one that changes the video image to one at the beginning, middle or end of the video. I think it's called Clickbait Remover
I will say, RussianBadger (don't worry, he's just a COD/L4D player from Ohio) had a great parody of clickbait in one of his L4D2 mod episodes a while back. Can't quite remember what it is entirely, but it was along the lines of "AERITH saves SHREK from ELMO while CARRYING GNOME for ACHIEVEMENT (GONE WILD)"
I HAD TO TELL SOMEONE WHO MIGHT GET IT (OOC) !! It was me Bday last week and a mate of mine, who's mates with Todd Pettengill (I didn't know he was) just asked him as a favour for a birthday message from him to me. Only just opened the WhatsApp message (been hungover or drunk since the 17th) and honestly I marked out so bad!!!
Just wanted OOC to know this because it makes me cooler than the coolest OSW member (Sorry Jay and V1, but OOC is the man).
Top 10 things that Mr. OOC thinks about clickbait. Number 7 will shock you!
OOC really has a way with words when it comes to deconstructing thins he despises. Wether that be clickbait or wedding photo booths
My favorite and most accurate UA-cam account. You never disappoint.. except Hardcore Homecoming
Honestly, the amount of clickbait titles and gaslighting thumbnails in Wrestling news videos is staggering. I honestly wish they would just get to the point when it comes to news so we can all go about our day. ❤️
I remember one example in 2010 there was a report in wrestling. And this isn't one to one what was written as the headline but it might as well have been:
"90's Bald and Goatee Wrestling star Died"
You thinking "Goldberg?" or "Stone Cold?"
Nope
Bastion Booger
Wrestling Journalism in general just sucks that's all I'm saying
Really needs misleading text with an allcaps verb like This plane DESTROYS stupid baby!
"You always have to have a face" 😂😂😂😂
red circles, the use of the words 'rare', 'exclusive', 'revealed' etc
When this video becomes one of the most viewed OSW videos on the channel, Mr. OOC will find out why those thumbnails work.
Inside the Ropes is like all clickbait like FORMER AEW STAR FOUND IN WWE PERFORMANCE CENTER!!!! and then people in the comments elaborate oh yeah it’s Brian Pillman Jr., just a bunch of very leading questions with one word answers and often with very little to actually say.
I am so great!
I am so great!
Everybody loves me!
I am so great!
I follow a few history channels on UA-cam and one specific one changes the titles of their videos after 24 hours so people think new content was posted. I’ve been commenting about my disdain for that practice and it seems like a bunch of other fans were pissed with it as well
The only clickbait thumbnail that isn't clickbait, I pissed myself laughing at this tbh
Not an annoyance, but I'm a fan of those wrestling thumbnails where they have one WWE Superstar like John Cena or Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns vs all the giants at once, from Mark Henry, Braun Strowman, Big Show, Khali, or the thumbnails where its like Brock vs Roman, and blood splattered on their arms and body with the caption, "Bloodiest Match Ever", fucking wild
One thing that I HATE clickbaiters uses a series to describe something "horrible" when they are full on wrong. Example that I will use because it's still up to this day, Phantom Strider uses Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog on the "Weirdest" Cartoon Reboots, when it was never one to begin with. And he even said it in the comments of the same video, and if anyone has the balls to comment on him about it, his fans send death threats to them. I should know, because they've done that to me.
Not having the title of this video be "OOC SHOOTS on clickbait. You won't BELIEVE what he says (Warning : Nudity)" is a Sean O'Haire sized missed opportunity lads.
"7 things you won't believe about the Rock....number 5 will ASTONISH you..." ....I hate that one
This is by far the best and my new favourite animated segment, thanks a lot Makodem
Vids that have "you wont believe what..." or "Watch till the end" in the title. Needs more top 10s lol!
The arrow boings are a perfect touch
Kazuki Takashi's death annnoucement video by TheQuartering comes to mind
I just wanna know one thing...
WHAT BAR??? Is "OOC's Interjection"
The worst clickbait is those rage farmers, y'know the ones: "[X media franchise taking a more progressive or inclusive direction] DOOMED TO FAIL!" That one pisses me right the fuck off, and I have a feeling that's by design.
Ahhhh a man of culture. I see you know your "The Quartering" well.
Talking at a snails pace to make sure it gets to the 10 minute mark (and thus monetization.)
I thought AVGN when OOC was describing that. Although they don’t go too crazy with the arrows and whatnot
Use every trick in the book to draw every dime that UA-cam can give you
What about 'creed making a reunion' ?
I clicked on that, turned out to be true.
It's the stupid "reaction" faces that turn me off more than anything.
I've learned to accept it from content creators I already trust because it is unfortunately something the UA-cam algorithm seems to love, but that practice is *the* reason I've never watched a Mr. Beast video and have avoided countless others.
I hear Mr. Beast has done lots of charity work and stuff and that's absolutely great and all but I just hate the guy. Just look at his face! Uncanny valley but with a real person somehow.
top 10 OOC Kayfabe Breakers you *don't* want to miss.
That should have read Irishman HATES babies and planes...some true clickbate
For me it's gotta be the red circle over literally nothing that doesn't get explained in the video, because it's fucking nothing. It used to get me all the time because it's like "Surely I'm missing something here?"
New favorite video. Well done fellas.
Things to do while your lost in Nilbog! #4 will surprise you.
Is it the toddler from Honey I Shrunk the Kids 2?
Top Ten Clickbait things that you TOTALLY MISSED.
I love how anyone who was like camping or for some reason saw this before last episode must be so confused.
The one that I found most annoying would be the ones that use the word SHOCKED! Or CRAZY in the title somewhere.
I hate it when a video promises lesbian pollen but there are literally no scenes of two queen bees going at it in a beehive.
Don't hate the baiters, hate their masters who reward the incessant baiting.
Truly they are the masters of baiting.
Jay couldn't resist sneaking in some yoshis island bb mario sounds.
thanks for recognising it! my brain is wired to SNES sounds :)
OSW pops the boys in the stable
Yoshi pops the boys in the bubbles.
Two sides of the same coin brah.
Hope you're well keep sneaking in those meedly weedlys and fibly bibblys and I'll keep marking out for em. ya fookin animal ya. Stay well. Cheers
Anytime I'm using UA-cam when I'm not logged in the kinds of general content promoted and recommended is suicide inducing. "Here's what a piano sounds like filled with water! 😱 😱" I'm not suicidal but those thumbnails fill me with dread and despair.
“____ BROKE ME!” is honestly a pet peeve of mine and I avoid any video with it in the title or thumbnail. Fam, the only thing broke about you is your bank account, shuddup.
Mood, OOC. Fucking mood.
Top 10 Things About Clickbait That Annoy Us. #7 Will SHOCK YOU!
“So-and-so DESTROYS so-and-so”!

Nothing’s more clickbaity, than having to pop up on Twitter. An ad or new “sub” every
Top 5 What Bars of all time. Number 1 will surprise you!
Cancel the next Golden Noggers, we have our winner.
Clicked baited
OOC's top ten most hated OSW segments. (The thumbnail is from a lord of the rings review which doesn't appear in the video)
The video game streamer face 😮😮😮
I think the number one clickbait thing that annoys me is two women of wrestling hugging each other in the thumbnail (Joking)
But in all honesty, it's gotta be the red arrow shit. 90% of the time it's pointing and something that either isn't in the video, isn't talked about, or isn't even related to the topic. Unironically people would use this occ thumbnail in a fighting game video, wrestling video, YGO video and also a rant video. It's so absurd.
2nd place goes to titles with very vague, and capitalized phrases.
"You WON'T believe what this WRESTLER said about this CONTROVERSIAL THING XXX (MUST WATCH!!!??)" And then 1% of the video is about if Christian Cage likes pineapple on pizza, and the rest is him talking about how much he loves life, his wife and world peace. Seeing titles like that and/or red arrows often has me instantly click the "don't recommend me this channel" thing.
"90% of people can't solve this" adverts for phone games anger me to no end because I just know there's some idiots out there who see it as a challenge.
I always wonder what kind of people see the clickbait thumbnail and feel the need to watch the video because of it.
Or “ You won’t believe the Tattoo OOC has!” And it’s the pic that was verified NOT OOC and the Video is just about how OOC says he does have one and loves Lord of the Ring
Casinos HATE was OOC does to clickbait
Any video that overly describes something mundane, i.e. instead of taking one minute to describe something they take 8+ minutes describing.
That was brilliant lads
the Home Alone face 😱
also just the blatant lies in the video title
Clicked on that thumbnail so fast.
