Ryan L they all got bought up by rich guys to do this stuff to haha took something worth 14k and put 10k more in parts onto it and then they try to sell them for 25k to 30k
Couldn't agree with you more! I bought my 2000 TJ for roughly 7500 and spent another 1k in it. And I am VERY happy with it. Not my daily driver, but it get's more attention that my daily Jeep Grand Cherokee. lol
@@rockyour4x4 I think you say "simple, effective" at 13:36. I'm not trashing you. More like to me, an amateur, this build is anything but simple. No worries : )
I have that UCF hydro brake bracket- it is the best! I changed my drum brakes over to disc brakes because I absolutely HATE working on drums. Even though I didn't have to mess with the rear drums for a long time, when they started to not work there wasn't anything I could do to get them to be as good as they originally were, even after a complete rebuild. The disc brakes from a Ford Explorer had those dumb drums inside the discs, and I could not get the cables to operate the drums more than a few pulls of the parking brake. The UCF bracket solved ALL of my problems and I got better parking brake hold than my drums ever could.
Man, what a beauty! Very nice sir. Thanks for the brands and specs, I know this is an old video but I’m working on an 89 YJ right now and would love to build up something like this over the long haul. 👌
Nice build for sure. The only thing I question is why a genright tank was not used. You can push a dana 60 out like 6" with it so the 44 should have had no problem fitting.
Sergio Enriquez thank you. The owner picked out some good parts. The lower mounts on the front coilovers were cut and moved down 1.5”. It looks and drives even better now sitting that much lower.
Love these videos on all the specs and details definitely helpful for people starting to build a rig. Thanks for these and them Moab trip videos so awesome
Does Tyler still have this Jeep? If so, any changes over the years? Make a Updated video? Pros and Cons? I really like the lightweight build and hope to hear back. Thanks 👍🏼
@@rockyour4x4 glad to hear he still has it. I ran into him one night on trail 21 when he was helping out a friend of his. Seems like a great guy with a awesome Jeep. I’m trying a similar build but we installed the larger JKR ring and pinion in my stock LJR axle vs a JKR axle swap. So far so good.
Great looking jeep that clearly works really well. I noticed there's no front sway bar - does the owner prefer it that way? I have no sway bar with a 3 link with 14" CO's in front of my yj and leaf springs in the rear and I've gotten very used to the "flexy front and planted rear" vibe.
Ok I read all the comments and this jeep is very slick.... what is the parkng brake valve make and part number I was contemplating line locks but this is sooo much cooler
I have an 06 wangler unlimited it has the long body most people would call it the LJ. How much would it cost to get something like this build done for my Jeep?
Is there a kit for that parking brake master cylinder? ive been looking to build brackets to do this but if there is a kit ill order it right now... for reals. thanks in advance!
Sick build. I see you guys stretched the rear. I have the same kind of build and am running into problems with the evap cannister. The computer is registering it as a vacuum lock and it intermittently will not rev over 2k. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.
RockYour4x4 Hmm. I put in the Genright Tank and just put breathers on the lines running to the tank. What did you dod with the lines that ran to the evap?
Hey i just replaced mine it’s from auto zone it’s not for the Jeep tj but everyone on the forums said it fit and sure enough it did and works perfectly
Rocky guzman It’s hard to say, the customer left it with us for about six months and just let us work on it as we could. That also decreased his labor cost significantly.
Isaiah YJ Smith You can’t really put a price on that. There’s so many variables that fall in. The coil overs and stretch are the bulk of the labor on this set up.
@@rockyour4x4 ok cool thanks! I have always liked this jeep, and my friend wanted me to go look at it cause he saw it for sale. Amd I said I know that jeep 👍🏽 Nice work! Thanks for the reply

thats where the old upper control arm mount was. with the long arm lift kit, the installer has to remove and grind off the welds otherwise the new control arms contact the old mounts.
Like to sell my 2001 black Jeep TJ with approx 6500 original miles . Has tan interior with 5 spd trans & 4.0 liter engine . Dynatrac front & rear Dana 60's with electric lockers ( diffs still in crates ) . Custom long arm Currie J - arms .
No disrespect to JK but to me TJ was last of the true wranglers. Where a common man can afford to purchase, maintain and wheel.
Ryan L they all got bought up by rich guys to do this stuff to haha took something worth 14k and put 10k more in parts onto it and then they try to sell them for 25k to 30k

The only thing the jk has over the tj is the 4 door unlimited

This is the cleanest build/fab I've ever seen. Great job.

Future plans for a 14 bolt and he didn’t want anything hanging down. Also, the Motobilt fuel cell is 1/3 the cost.

Glad to see the love for the TJ still.

Beautiful well build jeep 👍
Beautiful and inspirational!
Beautiful bro those axles tho amazing. Paint the scratch on the frame tho don’t want rust
BL is best mod you can do you will be amazed at amount of mud stuck up in the body also lets you get to bolts that would be otherwise impossible
This thing is ready for war.Just need to mount the 50 cal on top..!!
Thats a nice axle setup so you always have a spare if you tow it.
nice jeep , nice presentation,,, but did i miss something ? how did you get the steering column to mate with the repositioned steering box.

Bad ass jeep mine is a 97 tj 2.5
Not the ideal motor but still a tj I'd rather have a 2.5 tj than a built jk lol.
Hey the 2.5 isn't all that bad, mine's bone stock except some 32" mud terrains and I've put it through hell
Love that airtime!
Nice TJ
I have an 05 that’s set up pretty nice also
the king coil over is it worth it??
It looks like it rides nice??
Allan Wagner the coilovers give a lot more flexibility to your suspension design. They are worth it.

Imagine landing these instead of the Willys WB at Normandy.

Yes. You have to cut all of the brackets off and weld on new brackets.

Bill Griffith I’d have to add up all of his invoices for that (and there were a bunch spread out over the whole last year). I’d say 25-30k.
Can you show me how you did the rear shocks on that? I have a problem with sag on the back of mine because of weight
