For Halloween this year I'm going as a Phyrexian sleeper using the art of Phyrexian Unlife as inspiration. I'm gonna use pailing base makeup for the sickly look and black liquid eyeliner to blacken around my eyes with streaks as if I'm crying glistening oil. Some more liquid eyeliner out my ears and from my fingernails will turn me into a sleeper awakening, simple and terrifying.
@@AetherHub I'll send pics, and it helps that a car crash left me with a right hand that normally makes people shudder. No joke, many times people who've known me for years suddenly notice my hand and freak.

Yawgmoth immediately stole the credit and later turned Xod into a mindless beast of a Phyrexian. As for Gix, the main reason he became Yawgmoth's servant is because he was so easy to control. He wasn't that bright or capable but he is extremely predictable and aggressive. I love The Thran, one of my favorite novels of all time.
You know what would be funny? Having Gix come back, and overpower the other praetors. Just to make a sick joke at Elesh Norn expense that, no matter what she does, she still isn't on par with the old phyrexians that worked directly with Yog. Having her submit to Gix but at the same time ressent him and force a mirror story of that Yog and Gix had, but this time, she would play the role of Gix. We know that Jin and Vorin doesn't give much of a fuck about who rules the phyrexians, Urubrask just want to be left alone. Only Sheo and Elesh care about authority and power, so having a third "force" pop in and pull the rug from under Elesh would be veeeery interesting.
That would be a fantastic twist, no doubt. But seeing what they did to Ertai in Dominaria United and how War of the Spark ended, I really wouldn't expect anyone up there to respect the old lore.

Given that Phyrexia All Will Be One packaging got released, here's to hoping Atraxa gets more lore since you know....an angel compleated personally by Elesh Norn and 3 other praetors.
@@AetherHub I'd have to agree with you for the time being since initial lore for Atraxa was something about being a note worthy angel that put up a good fight before being captured I think? In the next set she could have some screentime but at this point there's gonna be a lot of legendary creatures.
Anyone know how the Thran got to Phyrexia? I know only Planeswalkers, Eldrazi and Maret Liege can travel the Blind Eternities. And Urza turned people to stone when he had to take them to new planes.
When Yawgmoth was rising to power as a leader of the Thran, a planeswalker named Dyfed showed up. She opened a planar portal to an artifical plane who's creator had recently died. Yawgmoth wanted a safe place to heal and compleat people = this pocket dimension was meant to be that. Eventually, Yawgmoth betrayed Dyfed, stabbing her in the brain and placing her body in a machine that literally scrambled her brains nonstop while her planeswalker body tried to repair itself. Yawgmoth tried to find an organ in her body that allowed her to planeswalk but never did. He expanded his operations on both sides of the planar portal. The coalition of forces that moved to destroy Yawgmoth and the Thran, plus a final ironic act of Rebbec, ended the war. Doomday weapons Yawgmoth deployed were turned against the Thran city of Halcyon. Yawgmoth and his troops fled to Phyrexia. Rebbec pulled the powerstone shard out of the corpse of her husband Glacian, finally realizing how evil Yawgmoth was, and placed the shard on the pillar that controlled the planar portal, sealing Phyrexia away for 5 thousand years. Urza and Mishra reopened that portal when they took the 2 halves of that powerstone shard, the mightstone and weakstone as they came to know them. The Phyrexians did learn to create other planar portals during those 5000 years, and learned how to overlay an artifical plane (Rath) onto a real plane. But afaik, Yawgmoth never became a legit planeswalker. These recent sets of cards with corrupted planeswalkers are our first legit Phyrexian planeswalkers as far as we know. Just consider the damage one planeswalker, determined to spread the influence of Phyrexia, can do. One drop of glistening oil is all it takes to subvert an entire plane. One planeswalker could hit the entire known multiverse up in mere hours.
Wait... Gix is a 3/3 and Xantcha is a 5/5?? But in the novels, Gix could stand toe-to-toe against Urza and Xantcha was terrified to death of Gix? Something doesn't add up. 😅 Also, Yawgmoth's immortality and power was because he was bound to Phyrexia... why did he so badly want to invade Dominaria when naturally, he would lose his immortality if he left his plane. 😅😅😅
He was going to link them together. Basically having a tunnel open between A and B makes it so A will always be powering him while hes in B cause its become an "extension" of A.
He had conquered many planes. Those are lost with time, but the one he never seemed to be able to fully grasp was Dominaria. Dominaria was always the prize he wanted. Even before becoming immortal on Phyrexia.

I wonder if the gate watch will just seal Phyrexia inside a metal plane instead of destroying them. I realize it's to late for containment but since tamiyo is compleated, if they save her and karn, can't they just make a new plane with karn and lure all of Phyrexia there and then have tamiyo moon seal they shit while Chandra ignites? That kind of sounds really dope imo.
Plus, not that I know for sure, but I doubt New Phyrexia is the only place Phyrexia has spread or controlled. As mentioned in this video, the Phyrexians have visited countless worlds. We know they visited Zendikar in ages past to get the Kor for Rath, that they once nearly overwhelmed whatever the name of the plane that New Capenna sits on, and that recently they've been on Kaldhiem and Kamigawa. And as we learned on Mirrodin, where there is one drop of oil, there is the potential for outbreak.
You need a pre-mending planeswalker to create an artificial plane. Karn doesn’t have near the power anymore to pull this off as the average planeswalker is just a powerful wizard
