Nice stand but maybe I missed it...why replace your old one? I thought that was a pretty nice stand too.
Great video! Thanks!
The wooden cabinet was good but not great for acoustics, also tried cocktail table and it was a bit low to use with turntable. I also have DIY stand from my old system in TV room but I don't feel like DIY again for music system.
So, I've been searching for good strong audio stand and I was about to buy $600 Solidsteel S3-3 stand from Crutchfield but last minute thought to check on Amazon got me interested in this Monolith XL stands,$150 and Pangea Vulcans for $200.
Monolith XL seems to be stronger by reading the specs and very reasonably priced, so I took my chance to try them out and it was a right decision for me.
It is a very good stand for the price, thanks
@@Tharbamar How does it compare to Rack of Silence?
Bought the Monoprice Monolith XL recently on Amazon USA for $149 shipped. It is awesome and you can rearrange the shelves or leave one out if you choose. Well built and good value!
If only Monoprice offered a section for holding albums. Alas, for that reason I’m considering the Pangea. Not to mention Pangea’s flexibility to add sections and even sliding drawers of different depths. Thanks for taking us along on the build.
Thank you for posting this review. I purchased one of these last week, and it represents extraordinary value. It provides a very stable and minimally resonant stand for my gear that also looks nice. I just wish the legs could accommodate carpet spikes.
4.5 as you need to make room for the manufacturers to improve the product. Those B&W 706 S2's are a solid 4.8/5. They are worth skipping a vacation for. Thanks for reviewing quality gear.
Just ordered one, man you helped me alot on my audio journey so thank you!
I’m glad to hear that, thanks for sharing.
Great vid 👍Was deciding on whether to buy this or not and you convinced me! I smiled when you added that you had added sand 😃reminds me of the time we filled the frame of a friends bike with it.. was he cursing cycling up the hills when we zipped past him.. hmm down hill he was a little crazy fast 🤣🤣
I originally bought the monoprice stand but amazon said no stock and it wasnt shipping for a month so i got the pangea version of this and it is excellent for the cost.
Mate I might have missed it but isn’t the idea of the shelf with the support bar to be used for the heaviest equipment? You got your CD player on it? I purchase 2x of the single floor stands for my amps still waiting for them to arrive but from your video it looks very good for the price. Good job and thumbs up.
I’m planning to do the same. Two side by side. If you have done it let us know how it worked out. Thanks
@@1999zrx1100 yes I am very happy with the stands. I mean even with the price in mind (I paid around $35 each) I can not id any cons yet. I am housing Primare a32s amps on them and they are bloody chunky at 40kg each.
Looks very clean minimal design
A buddy put glass beads in his support legs. Not as messy 😎
Thanks for a great review. I was trying to find some comparisons with the Pangea too and you did that. I used the affiliate link, hope you get a little something something.
Ordering right now from Your link , thanks for the setup overview !
These are very good stands for money, fill with hobby sands from Home Depot, thanks Tee-Jay.
You should really consider isolation products for your components. it can make a huge difference in your sound quality. especially your turntable!
Thanks for the advice.
Just posted this video on me community page pic , Thanks again !
Awesome audio stands worth the price by far !! 😆
Turns out the lower stand you originally replaced was probably more acoustically transparent than the new Monoprice tall rack between your speakers. Gonna have to switch back. Oh the life of an audiophile.
Not true, try sound demo is system tour.
Am i tripping or is it sounding much better!!!
It is much better sound than before.
This looks really good and I may give it a try. The only thing I have against it is that there is no back to hide cable mess. I have more devices since my hi fi system is in the same space as the TV, satellite receiver and BluRay/SACD player. I have separate power amp, preamp and phono amps, so that's a LOT of cables and the mess drives me a bit crazy!
PanAm. I have the same concerns about wires. I ordered the Pangea Vulcan (similar to this rack). I also ordered cable gutters and that are the same color as the rack. I hope that i can attach the cable gutters to the back of the rack to hide wires. Fingers are crossed, but I think it will work.
@@jamesmalee822 Did those cable gutters work for you?
Maybe is intentional or you figured it out by now, but I believe the shelf that has 3 poles on each side go on the bottom for better stability.
Yes it’s intentional because more solid with heavy equipment on top, thanks
Hi Tharbamar
Very clear and helpful video!
Getting two of these stands. When you filled the poles with sand, did you fill all the way up or just partial and was it fairly easy?
Thanks
All the way up before screw thread, it’s not hard just time consuming, thanks
Thank you for the Video. It will help, to convince my wife😅
Just bought one per your review. I went with the Maple color. Cheers
Very Nice, thank you.
Great stand for sure!
Thanks , Very affordable stand, i wonder if my Onkyo INTEGRA M-504 will fit on that stand its a monster amp . FINALLY got it completly overhauled ! Most difficult amp i have ever worked on but ohh my ! That rich sound ! Nice music at the end of video those B&w pop !
My Denon amp size is 434mm (w) x 180mm (H) x 478mm (D), it sits nicely in there with decent breathing room. it should work with your amp, thanks
@@Tharbamar Thanks , yeah my amp is about the same size as your integrated amp , only thing is my Onkyo integra has all its weight on one side 3 huge transformers 2 power 1 step down so its left side heavy
My onkyo integra m504 is 18.5 inches deep 18.5 inches wide and 8 inches tall what i have now for a stand is a 5 tier shelf, 3 amps 1 preamp and a 1 modified blueray player and DAC but i dont need 5 shelfs do you think this stand will work with my onkyo amp ? I will order from your link if i decide to buy i most likely will thanks again
Do you know away to measure vibrations to your shelf when you are playing music ? especially to your turntable! I see this is Video is a year old. Is this a different room than the one you are videoing in now?
I hav a few different room with audio systems, for normal music listening level turntable is not effected by sound waves, as far I know there is no way to measure it, thanks
The shelf with the metal crossbar is the bottom shelf.
Not necessary to do that.
I intend to follow the same configuration as you have done.
Can you use the shelf, with the reinforcement bar, as the top shelf?
I have a space constraint. Is there a way to assemble without the bottom legs. With bottom shelf on the floor and just two more shelves for total of 3.
Yes, you can use however you like.
It is described as modular, and please I want to know if I can divide it into two separated stands, one with 3 shelves, and the other one with a single shelf for the amplifier, but both must have their own feet. It is possible? Thanks a lot
It is possible but you will have to buy additional feet from them, thanks
@@Tharbamar thank you
@@Tharbamar i have bought this table and I am very happy. Thanks a lot for your help
I LIKE!!
Hi Tharbamar! Which do you prefer: Spikes or flat feet? Thanks!
Top audio 👌
I do not see sound vibration control anywhere. This must ring like crazy
Really good 🔥👍🏻
Great Videos, I have a question about the rack. Hope you can answer.
Can you interchange the 4” bottom
legs for the 7” or 9” ones?
HiFi racks have crazy prices, these seem too good to be true.
I’m going to order a couple of them
to make a nice wide set up.
Thanks 😎
Yes you can if I remember it right but it may not as solid as short one. Thanks
Ya I figured it probably wouldn’t be as stable but nice to know the rack is
so versatile you can try just about any configuration. Thanks for the quick response. 😎
What size are the bolts needed to secure the speakers to the stand?
M8 bolts.
Is it possible to not assemble the bottom legs? I want to reduce the height by few inches
Probably
Did you discover what the thread size was?
Do you mind if i tag your video in a link On my community with the pic of the Monoprice Monolith XL stand ? So people can see how to put together and i eill reccomend buying from your link?
Off course, please feel free to share it, Thank you.
@@Tharbamar thank you , nice sturdy Stand for the money 😆
T hanks for the vid! I'm pretty sure I"m buying this stand because of your video!
Hi how big is the box as want to ship it to Gibraltar
28x20x8 inches.
Thanks. Do you think you can make the top inner shelf the largest/tallest one? I see you did made the 2nd shelf the largest.
Yes you can and I’m using it that way right now.
@@Tharbamar Thanks
Very nice video! If I can ask, what amp is that? Thanks!
Denon PMA2000 IVR Integrated Amp, Thanks
@@Tharbamar They don't make it anymore? Isn't the top line the 1600 now??
@Jeff Hunter Not for U.S market. The latest generation is PMA2500ne I believe, which retail for about $2.5k in Japanese market.
I bought it in 2007 which was their last year for U.S market.
Are those shelves made from real wood or MDF? Thanks
It’s MDF.
Real wood for $150? You're funny!
It’s MDF but each shelf is solid and heavy
Any chance to put your hand on the new warfedale 4.4 towers ?
I will see if I can get a sample, thanks
@@Tharbamar that would be nice, btw nice stand looks awesome
and in 2024 in australia these cost $900.00, what a screwed up world
First thumbs up... Oorah!
Are you Burmese by any chance? You have a Burmese accent
Yes I am.
@@Tharbamar Wonderful! Nice to see a fellow countryman and audio enthusiast
Nice to see you too, thanks
No such thing as being the best speaker on acoustic guitar strings. No one speaker can have the best imaging, mids & bass at the same time. Harbeth & maybe the PMC has the best lower mid sound. Nobody talks about the Spendor is the best speaker there is, especially for clearness in the mids without that harsh sound. Hear is a speaker for $3,000 new that is the worlds best little known imaging speaker in the mids, the Neat Motive SX-2. I have a few links to click below for the last 2 speakers. @ @ @ @t You"ll get sick that you dont own the Neat Motive SX-2. HAHAHAHA!
Who said about best speaker? You can say what you think is best for you but not everyone is the same.
@@Tharbamar I think that you get more people to buy speakers than anyone else on ebay. You are doing a wonderful job. I agree with you on all your reviews of affordable speakers. You have the exact speakers I was interested in. I love the way the Kefs sound in the tweeters. I think the Focal bookshelfs a little higher in cost is even better. I was trying to share ideas of some speakers that are a little higher in cost. Everybody likes to learn & share opinions. I agree with you wanting to sell your Kef LS 50 speakers. The B & W speakers you have are very good speakers. I had some expensive B & W speakers in the past That wasn't so hot. My opinion B & W speakers were way over rated & over priced until they came out with your better B & W speakers. Even John Atkitson who knows what he is talking about & runs Stereophile magazine stated he disliked older B & W speakers I think your newer B & W speakers has first order crossovers that have clearer sound are a good value for the money. The B & W soft Kevlar bass drivers were unclear & had no low bass.
@@Tharbamar When I said that you would be jealous of these speakers. HAHA. In my last comment I was just kidding. I think we all get jealous of what we cant have. Your reviews are wonderful.
What size casters will fit on this rack?
Please check with Monoprice. Thanks
