i'll tell you what i'd like to see: a better fucking paycheck so i can finally order my perkons and do a video "casual, like tuesday morning coffee jam with Buchla Skylab, the OG 303 and a Perkons cuz i gut nothing better to do" good stuff tho!
@@Noise-Maker no prob! thanks for the great videos. Is it possible to sequence a melodic synth like Minimoog directly from the Perkons via midi out from Perkons into the moog, or is an external sequencer needed to communicate between the two?
@@iwillnevergetone5 Hi Thad, I dont believe you can do that. The MIDI out is for Trigger and sending Start Stop. You need another sequencer for that. I been using the OXI one for that.
@@Noise-Maker Ah, that makes sense. I'm trying to learn more about how to make instruments communicate with one another during sequences and transitions like the Perkons, MPC, and a melodic synth. I will look up the OXI. Thanks for the info my friend
@@iwillnevergetone5 You are most welcome! I have an MPC and its great. For stepped sequencers the OXI One has been amazing for me. It does a few things I love the MPC cannot. Keep in touch and let me know how you are progressing.
Who says you cant get 8 ins audio interface for less than 200 £ - that UMC 18/20 is the best budget interface. Love the tune, i have Super 6 and Perkons, absolutely insanely good machine
Thank you! Was fun to make with these machines! Love that UMC 18/20. Sold my Quartet Apogee after i bought it. I A/B them and couldn't tell the difference. I am sure someone could but really happy to save the money for other gear.
So glad you liked it. Was a little unsure with the Super 6.. I always liked the sound but had trouble mixing it in, not so anymore ::) Super 6 is going to be featured in more videos. Will likely do a deep dive gear perspective soon. Loving that synth now. Thanks for stoping by x0d!!
@@spacechordI love the Super 6. I bought mine at Perfect Circuit. Its not always in stock. Every parameter including the LFO is controllable via MIDI CC or can be modulated. Its a great sound design tool as well. I have programmed some Jupiter 8 patches from Arturia into it and comes out even better.
@@Noise-Maker Hi, I did not even know that MEGA exists :-) But checked it and that's a totally overkill machine. GR1 seems to be enough for me. Prices are N/A yet but I think it will be around $2k.
I was still slightly on the fence with the Perkons because most demos are pretty wild and, while I do love that, I was worried it might not be able to do something more subtle like this. Fantastic Jam and I make you personally responsible for making me lose a good sum of money haha
HAHA!! Hope its money well spent for you as it was for me! Its a great machine with many possibilities. It can cover a lot of ground. If you have some FX to send, it opens a massive amount of live and sonic areas. Enjoy and congrats!!
hats off, everything your putting out is top notch! The OXI split box, what are you using the midi THRU port for, the bassline or perkons? or in this case the THRU is just like another OUT, since its the OXI One pushing out the sequences?
I cant recall exactly but just reverb and delays from the Arturia FX 3 collection. I tend to use Delay eternity and the Rev intensity. And maybe some stereo spread from Bitwig called Blur or that Juno Chorus from the FX 3 collection.
How is the Oxi One synced to your Perkons? Are you clocking it via the mini TRS out or via MIDI? I have the Oxi and the Perkons, but somehow can't get the Oxi to "start" the Perkons' sequencer via MIDI ..
Hello Midi out or thru will send the start stop message to the Perkons. The Perkons must be set on external sequencer not internal mode that is default. This means once you set that to external sequencer you cant start the perkons via the play button. You need to start it via the OXI One. Hope that helps!!
Kick Drum for sure. It's my headphones I mix on. The K702 lacks so much bottom I overcompensate. I can't seem to get used to it. Maybe need a different set of headphones. Thanks for the comment and glad you liked it!

This setup is legit. A man of culture I see.
Thank you! Still feels fresh in 2024.
the tone/tuning/sub of your kicks in all your Perkons vids are fantastic. probably the best sounding demonstrations of this machine's fatness
