  • A Tilt lens can be a very useful tool in the hands of a Wedding/Portrait photographer. While the typical use is to get subjects in different planes of focus in focus, it could be creatively used to do the opposite i.e. alter the plane of focus to create blur. I bought this lens and tried a few portraits. Looking forward to using this for a wedding in December.

Nice review. Seen some negative reviews on this lens. However you have managed to extract the juices and make it work quite nicely. Stopping it down a bit works in its favour. It's a fun & arty lens, with a vintage look about it. Just ordered mine from Pergear for £157.00. I think at that price you cant go far wrong. Going on a Sony APS-C (75mm Equivalent) just hope it works well on that sensor size. 🙂

How was it?..im thinking about buying it for my sony APS-C camera as well

Yes works just fine with APS-C@@qistinanadhila5608, bit of a leaning curve but can get some great toy like results. As mentioned it give =75mm FF. So can double as a portrait lens. I'd love if they brought it out in a 35mm, so as to give a nifty fifty focal length which would be great all rounder. ✊

Yeah, this lens is a little soft. But in the lovely vintage way. This lens is made for creativity, not tack sharp performance. I purchased a copy for the Nikon Z mount and look forward to using this lens for interesting images.

You are not increasing the dept of field, instad you are moving the plane of focus!

I love the idea of this lens. It seems fun, however I can help but feel I can achieve this effect with much less effort in post (e.g., Nik Collection). For only $300 it could be fun I suppose.

Yes, you can create the blur effect but if you want two different planes of focus sharp you can’t do it in software. You have to use a lens.
