Great video, Legend! I enjoyed seeing your take on my hometown's zoo. You mentioned how old the Cincinnati Zoo's Reptile House building is--in fact, it was built in 1875 and is the oldest zoo building in America. Also, one animal you didn't show in the Africa section--the painted dogs--have a small connection to Disney's Animal Kingdom. A few years ago, six painted dogs from the Cincinnati Zoo were sent to DAK. blog.cincinnatizoo.org/2015/12/09/dog-log-chapter-8-a-whole-new-world-for-the-boys/
That manatee building is literally made out of nostalgia bricks. It's too long since I've gone to the Cincy zoo. I only live like 30 minutes away and I haven't even seen Fiona yet. I'll definitely be whippin it out for Harambe tonight, RIP. All hail Queen Fi
i am a zoo person too and i never thought i would say that. i grew up in nyc in the 60 and zoos were not progressive, they were sad, unhealthy concrete prisons for unhappy animals. we went once as a family and never returned. but a few years back i was visiting seattle and got dragged to the zoo. i was amazed, mostly at how happy most of the animals were and what good lives they had. i would've traded. so i became a zoo person. but it am mostly a youtube zoo person. i am dying to go to this zoo sometime when i can squeeze it in somehow. but you said it was your 3rd favorite zoo. which other ones do you think are great. everyone talks about the san diago zoo. i have been there dozens of times on youtube but live would be very different. what is a list of your favorite zoos. so i have something to shoot for. by the way the seattle zoo was just great and so big i never got to see the whole thing. n
When you come to Dollywood in the future you should stop by the Knoxville Zoo. They're in the middle of a big expansion that is adding a lot of cool new exhibits. Last year they added a new Bengal Tiger exhibit.
Columbus is nice too. Also, there is a 7 year $150 million master plan to improve the Cincinnati zoo. The main thing will be an exhibit for elephants 5 times its current size.
Columbus is huge also. Both Columbus and cinci ate on top 10 last. I have not been to the Columbus but it is flatter from what I hear. So if you have health issues that affects walking you may want to hit Columbus. Cincinnati is super hilly.
“Fuck height!” As a 5 foot asian I’m getting this tattooed on my body. (Thank you for filming this video, I am a vet assistant student and we’re visiting tomorrow!)
What is the latest on the hippo, Fiona? I don't see anything about her that is less than 2 months old. Update, please? Ya (she) got me hooked when she was a baby, so now I need a monthly "fix." ;-) Thanks.
Love your zoo blogs! The only thing I don't like is when you describe the enclosures such as the Polar Bear one as 'large' when really that enclosure is far too small for the animal. Other than that I love the blogs!!!
So they shouldn't be taking in animals that need rehabilitation or be helping build up their species numbers so they don't go extinct. Do u know that if the Fiona they mentioned would be dead if she were born in the wild? She was born early and her mother rejected her. Thanks to this zoo and the Children's Hospital next door Fiona and so many other animals are thriving. Not all zoos are bad.
I live in Cincinnati and I have been to the Zoo so many times I can map out exactly where he is and what is next to him.
T.L.D.R I love this zoo.
Looks like a lovely Zoo to visit soon ☺
I love little Fiona she is a living miracle
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!
I saw myself at the 14 minute part in blue and orange !!

The painted dogs weren’t out the day I was at the zoo. Really like the Cincinnati Zoo though
I kinda figured that might be the case. It's strange how often the painted dogs aren't out on display.

I was there in 2018. I loved it was one of the better zoos I have been to. Way better than the one in Indianapolis and cheaper too.

Fun fact: the African plain area used to be a parking lot!

Which 2 zoos do you think are better?
San Diego & Bronx Zoo (though Cincinnati is getting close to passing Bronx for my #2)
Columbus is nice too. Also, there is a 7 year $150 million master plan to improve the Cincinnati zoo. The main thing will be an exhibit for elephants 5 times its current size.
San Diego and Columbus
I’ve never been to the the Cincinnati Zoo, but I went to a zoo where there was that same Meercat thingy. What other parks in Michigan/Ohio have that?
Cincinnati has Meerkats. Theres also Columbus but I don't know if they have Meerkats.
The Detroit zoo has meerkats.
@@TwiAuntie1901 I don't think they do
What do you recommend: Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati?
I haven’t done Colombus, but prefer Cincinnati over Cleveland

They have another connected enclosure right next to it check your facts before u say anything
guys yes and looking at the zoo plan it is still very small. The lion enclosure is tiny despite being in the new bit!
Rip Harambe
He will be missed
You really gotta go to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo

When I saw this video pop up,I thought of Harambe

Been there a few times. Solid chance I’ll get there this year and I’ll definitely go next year if they get the rumored new coaster

There are now ZERO bears at the Cincinnati Zoo

How do the lions not eat those animals lol they still have instincts
I believe that while it looks like the Lions are in the same enclosure, there are actually barricades between them.
@@IntheLoopPodcast oh ok thanks for the info my friend i was about to say lol
I don't it would be possible for then to resume their lives. Their country is destroyed. Russia should have to rebuild it completely.
MORE ANIMALS===LESS TALKING
Hey, I gotta question for y'all. Why are y'all making us pay to see animals you stole? Not one of them belong to you.
preach it. Zoo's make me sad. That polar bear's inclosure was the saddest.
Marr Carr3
Yes. All of its so sad for those animals. It's just not right of them to be able to do that.
So they shouldn't be taking in animals that need rehabilitation or be helping build up their species numbers so they don't go extinct. why was it sad to u?
I dont like that they take the animals out of their natural habitat ans stick them in cages just so they can make money. :(
