I think age and fight mileage is a major factor in Chuck's downfall, he wasn't that young when he got into the UFC, and with his aggressive, striking focused style, he took a lot of punishment. I'm not trying to take anything away from Rampage, I just think the same or similar would have happened to Chuck if he had never fought Rampage once.

Plus, UFC is now the biggest promotion in the world. Back in 2003 they had nothing to lose. Now if they accept such a fight, they can easily give his competitors spotlight if the UFC guy loses, and people already see UFC belts as proof of being the best in the world, so literally nothing to win and everything to lose.

I bet you the performance on these will only get even better as ppl understand what they actually are should you keep doing them. Subjective, n of 1, but your editors and writers shine in conjunction when nuanced stories are told. Eg I was a pride and dream fan first and never actually connected the timelines of Chuck beating Randy with vandy’s beatdown of rampage. Contexualized a lot more disconnected history for me. Ive been round loads of good fighters and never seen anyone who wanted to be there less. It was also the weirdest spar I ever took part in wih him dropping his hamds and walking off when I wouldn't just go toe to toe with him. Hed stop feign injury then rush me. In the end he did this and caught me with a body shot which dropped me... and I was super happy just to get it over with! Rampage Jackson got me into MMA when I was in 5th grade (2009-10), I remember watching him at my friends families house because they were having a party and little did I know it was a UFC watch party. He won and kicked ass, that next week my friend took me to Ben Rothwell's old gym in Kenosha just called gracies that he shared with someone, then he took all his equipment one week and was gone and started his own gym just down and across the street. But I switched to Duke Roufus gym in Milwaukee and met Anthony Pettis and lots of other future fighters, got sick and wasnt able to do it anymore and am still sick but I had a lot of fun over those years.

Liddell and Jackson are like a couple of characters straight out of Street Fighter 2. Two warriors who fight, maybe each other or maybe not, traveling the world and getting into wild shenanigans of all kinds. Being at an event where they do fight against one another is one I'd always suggest observing from a distance. Even if in possession of octagon-side tickets it would behoove one to sacrifice those because once they start throwing hands the resulting shockwaves will most certainly void the warranties of any electronic device on your person.
