I was about to comment this. Most Heavy tanks at higher tiers are rendered almost useless because of HEAT gold spam.
@@sirsobek2634 that's because they're impenetrable without gold! All tanks should have weakspots that can be penned with regular rounds but, at the same time, good player could hide them and show their skill! In this meta, the "skill" is to press 2 key.

@@KekkoLancer I don't know what tanks you drive. But most X tanks can pen Maus cheeks (it's a flat 260 in the middle), excluding some heavies like the Maus and E100 lol.

Basicly the Jagedpanzer E 100 with HEAT is the ultimate balancer of OP tanks. Sadly it sucks in most situations and it gets wrecked way before it gets to "Balance".

210 isn't all that hard to pen for more tier 8s with standard. It's just some mediums and lights that would need premium to get through. I'd take that over the type 5 or 268v4 any day.

T110E5 OP stages a couple of years ago, when tds would bounce the stupid troll cupola. Now that tank is obsolete like the IS4. Still surprises me how bad the stats for the IS4 are, everything is red in QB comparison. I hope it's removed, the tank is just a huge pile of garbage.

If this is the one I'm thinking of, it was developed by the Soviets to use after nuclear strikes, and the 4 tracks are to spread the weight out for crossing swampy terrain.
This thank would be a good start for Tier XI.
I think the actual Object 279 that got built would be a perfect Tier 11 heavy. Or even Tier 12, if its ammo capacity got buffed beyond what's historical. It's got an absolutely crazy flying saucer looking hull, and the same gun as the Object 277 (which is arguably the best gun of any heavy in WoT).
When you see IRL pictures of the 279 keep in mind that you're looking at the blast shield - which would work as spaced armour only. The armored hull below looks like the WoT version.
It's worth noting that the fuel was carried in vessels between the track ways, so a on-track with HE should be a double crit.
And the TV-8 would be up there with the Obj. 279!

There are quite a few tier10 vehicles, that are just too OP, like this, the badger (of you add like plus 10mm pen to all rounds) , the brittish turreted armored td (if you upgrade its speed a tiny bit) , the wtfe100 could be brought back! I would maybe even add the kranvang to this list if maybe it would be given plus 10-20alpha to its rounds. (edit: supercounqueror would definetly be a solid t11 especially if you add a bit of speed)

You should hear him on stream some days, inventive insults go out the window and it's right down to f-bombs every few seconds.
Especially when you realize they did exactly what QB recommended, but did a poor job of it. They were brave and aggressive, and if they acted together, they would have caused real damage.

I really want to hear WG's excuse that other trees *coughUScough* can't get their Cold War-era tanks like the M60, but the soviets can get all their vodka-dream designs.
I can tell you; we are a Russian company with the vast majority of players in Russian Fed. So we give our player base what they want. Simple.
Because the M60 and M103 are in the game already. There aren’t many Cold War tanks besides those for the US that were prevalent with the exception of light transport vehicles and the early abrams...though we could counter that and say the game needs a T-72/T-64 and BMP-2 lmfao.

Second question: between the sets of tracks there are two "pylons" the tracks are attached to. However, I have no clue how is the power transmitted to those tracks and how maintenance-heavy this system is.
First question: the turret crew seems to have enough space. I imagine the driver's position is extremely uncomfortable.

Armour is pretty pointless in this game now unless it's a prototype Russian sekrit dokumint tank no one has ever heard of. Can't get through? spam gold. The only thing that can be done without reworking gold ammo (because wg wont, i mean why would they, it's not like everyone is complaining about it or anything) is to add super heavies which just make free to play or old school players who use mainly standard rounds want to quit even more.

@@Gabriel-he6ih Most of the time they don't. Guessing a lot of them have been playing years. I rarely play anymore but have 20mil+ cred and 25k gold just sitting on my acc. T8 prems can still make creds with prem spam
this game as a whole used to be good.. that's not the case for the last 4 years.

Organiser a protest, as soon as a 279e shows up in a map, everyone else hits alt-f4. That's the only thing WG will notice.
Invest the effort to make this go viral and you might get something accomplished. I don't have the time and energy, will just play tier 7 and not buy premium or premium tanks, till this is fixed.

What the hell did the IS-4 do to deserve such non bias treatment from WG??
Buff the frontal armor to 170, the angle will make it 260/270 effective. Give the gun 9.5 / 10 sec base reload instead of 11.5 sec. Enhance the gun handling, and buff the upper turret plate above the gun and boom, the Is-4 is probably okay.
But wg will do something utterly bullshit probably. If it gets replaced i quit

When I started seeing this tank more and more in the MM, I decided that that's enough. I haven't played now for couple of months. There are times when I want to log in, because the game is still fun... ish, but then I see these videos and I remember how f__king frustrating it is to have this tank against your team, when your team has a IS-4 or such. You get the point. After complete fiasco that 2018 was in this game, I thought they'd learn but no... as long as people who do not educate themselves and just buy every premium tank there is, the money keeps flowing and it'll never get better. Sad really. It was a fun game.

what about the defender? 130PM? 268 V4 (pre nerf), i would rather have the WTF e100 back in the game again without any nerfs than any more of these russian tanks. because that thing was balanced by...Arty....long ass reload and....HE shells, like it would make any Durp gun tank super happy.
If you want the wt e100 back. Then go play the console version, all of those vehicles, and soon this mess are there. World of tanks in general has become a steaming pile of garbage, and its all wargamings fault. All the "reworks", removing vehicle's, and creating messes like this tank and the ones ypu mentioned;have made the game unbearable and unbalanced.

In world of tanks console we had this special called “games”: every month they release new 30-35 levels that you can go trough by completing easy missions and they are very easy to complete (2 hours every 2/3 days) and if you complete it before the game ends, you get x2 on every battle UNTIL THE MONTH ENDS.
We are going to have 12 total games (differentianting all seasons and three months between games alpha, bravo and charlie).
EVERY GAME YOU COMPLETE (WHICH IS THE EASIEST THING EVER) they give you -10% discount to the obj 279 e ( and the more games you complete the discount adds up.)
I think by 2020 ( which is when this tank will be released) everyone is going to have it and the tier ten games are going to be full of it.
Hope they nerf it.
Well at least on the console version we still have the WT Auf E100, just to make things better.
I agree this thing is going to break t10 on console. Something like the is7 can't pen this things front even with premium rounds. If the only way to beat it is to flank it, and half the enemy team consists of it, you pretty much can't do anything. T10 is my favorite tier to play but won't be anymore with this thing all over the place. Please nerf.....

I started playing Wot in 2011 and I loved that game so much it was so amazing and played it till 2015 where it was for me already not worth playing anymore. They are destroying such a perfect game which makes me pretty sad. But still up to this day im watching every quickybaby video.

Honestly, In the first battle, the way you handled the WZ-111 1-4, FV215b (183) and 430U and 2 other tanks in the city. That was pure madness. Insane Skill QB, nice plays, absolutely loved it and my belated birthday wishes :)
The Heat/gold spam makes the armor on the tanks useless so they are just slow and get outflanked
No, no they don't. Not on WG's corridor maps.
Well,, I honestly think the Chieftain clan wars reward tank is better than this thing, since this tank gets penned by TDs and premium rounds. This thing destroys lower tiers harder, however. Even then, the Chieftain is definitely more overpowered. This tank may break games more though, since you barely need skill to play this, while the Chieftain is only fully abused by good players, most people will perform better in the 279e.
Nevertheless, this thing is beyond broken with its mechanics and the second-best tier 10 tank.
Also, how to beat it? Load gold and shoot the upper plate. If your gold is APCR with enough pen, like in an AMX 50B, you can shoot the lower plate as well. HEAT gets absorbed by the tracks. At a 20 to 30 degrees angle , penning the lower plate is also slightly easier. IMPORTANT NOTE: TALL TANKS LIKE THE MAUS AND E-100 DESTROY IT WITH EASE. If you can shoot down on the upper plate, you do not need premium ammo if you have around 250 mm of penetration. Finally, shooting HE on the upper plate works surprisingly well, since its strength relies on angles over sheer thickness.
Final note: the penetration required to pen the upper plate is 280-290. APCR and AP need less pen due to normalization: around 275 for APCR and 268 for AP.
So for example a Leopard 1 pens with standard ammo pretty much 50 percent of the time.

I hope you know your comparing the 279E and the Chieften right? They both play completely different. Like the 279E is a brawling tank and the Chieften is a ridge tank. Two completely different tanks.

after playing wot for a long time i figured this out. any tank that has armour and has decent speed is going to be op even if it has a bad gun. armour and speed should never go together. the thing that makes russion tanks better then tanks from other nations is the fact that they have both armour and speed.

Sadly, that "pay to win" mentality is bleeding profusely into lower tiers as well these days..
i grinded the Japan heavy line to T8 and the british TD to T8...honestly...it didnt make any fun since T8...before it was nice....and why ? the horrible stock cannon grind..Wot can be fun but only below T8....you just see OP premium tanks at T8 or T10 with a stock gun...very funny game would recommend my worst enemies only...

Tbh this tank needs at max 2000 DPM to stay kinda balanced. And 35km/h top speed. And maybe 30mm of bottom hull armor. Thats it.
It's a shame this is a nerfed version the real one had a 130mm gun with 7 rounds a minute and speed of 55km/h but give it another year and we will get the real version.

I started playing this game when u had to pay for gold ammo. I learned how to play the game and I still refuse to use gold ammo and the power creep is so bad.
We're a dying breed; those of use that learned how and where to shoot weakspots while playing against 4 tier higher tanks.
While I don't refuse to use it, I only carry a few for when I absolutely need it, rather than relying on it.

@@a1phamalestud wt isnt a direct competitor, so it cant be better. I know i tried moving to wt from wot and its a gold game but its completely different from wot so it cant replace it. Wt is a simulator game even in arcade, while wot is an actual arcade game...
Syl Duhanaj I also enjoy war thunder, but it also gets harder and harder to play as wait times get longer, and when I finally unlocked the saber not that long ago, I realized I now had to play against supersonic jets with seeking missiles. Kinda put a damper on progressing much further

Wt isn't really a stimulator in arcade mode. It's harder to kill and imbalance lower 6.7 or below. Wt a ww1 to 2016-17 war era game. The helicopters are complete ground killers. Wt and world of ships modes do compete. But wos need some balancing and need to up the tier and delete the fake ships. World of ships came had been very better than wt ship mode in my opinion.

@Call_Me_Radium tank handling on blitz its pure shit, adding those weird sci-fi prem tanks, but over all the handling was utter crap, you cant even steer the tank in a straight line for more than 50mts, game was meh, ok, but isnt the same playing from a PC than from a smartphone

ive ran into a couple of these i think ive only penned him in the side or back i cant remember but yes seeing one it should be focused down sadly alot of people especially on x 5 weekends dont know priority. it'd be nice to have one hopefully ill get one eventually but im not in the category of "dedicated tanker" i play for fun and dont really do missions so i like the face that they're all still there with no time limit i hope it stays that way i like to take my time...i literally just started doing missions from the first Campaign and im close to the t55a....

i hear this thing gets ammo racked very easily. i ammo racked with with a T30 with AP for full HP buy hitting the weak top plate u mention when angled . The guy I rammo racked told me that was the 11th time it had happened to him. Can you help provide any insight on this ability to be ammo racked?

Thats the exact reason why this is a prototype version, the end result 279 has much more efficient armor, the hull is virtually impenetrable.
Aquila audax to be fair though the design they finally sided on exists, so theres that i guess.

I love playing against the 279e never had an issue with penetrating the frontal armour. Just press 2 and feel the rage eminating from the screen
One of the most over powered tanks in the game, still feels the need to spam premium ammo. Pathetic.
This tank was the final nail in the coffin that means I no longer play WoT.

its nice to know that you MUST load gold against a piece of armour that was actually 40mm thinner irl...wish they'd make maus turret just a little thinner so you didnt have to only use gold
