Im incredibly impressed with this saddle stand. I have self guided from Alaska to Zimbabwe. The comfort, flexibility, and durability is second to none. Latitude donated a method 2 as part of our michigan hunter safety program as an example that compliments our self climber, hang on, and ladder stand demonstration. Tree stand safety is incredibly important. Rifle and bow hunters use tree stands now. Latitude stands behind hunters.
That's super cool and I had no clue! Thanks for sharing, it's nice to know that Latitude is helping expand education into the modern hunting techniques!
The saddle looks snug and supportive on you. Based on your review showing a good deal of versatility with this saddle I ordered it today feeling very confident this is a great choice. I am glad you made mention the difference between Latitude's Method 2 and XL sizing. The manufacturer site does not give specs. Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts on this product. This really helped me.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I am not disappointed. My gear came today. I like when purchasing something that immediately after the package is opened there are no feelings of regret. Again, thank you for posting a fantastic real review pointing me in the right direction.
Great job, very impressive video. Really like the saddle too. Thanks! Probably going to buy one. I am from Michigan as well and and loved hunting there. Am now in Hot SC, but still hunting. Love the 2 panel magnet system. Thanks again!! :)
Fairly big guy here 235 lbs used a one stick set up with the edp platform this year and loved it . One stick and aider is a game changer. Saddle hunting is rediculously quiet number one thing I noticed this year !
I just got into saddle hunting this year and I also went with the Method 2, I almost went with the Cruzr XC but in the end decided that the 2 panel was the way to go. I never sat in saddle before getting this one so videos like this were a big help. The thing that made me take the leap to try saddle hunting was I drew an Iowa tag this year and I would be hunting all public land so I wanted to go as light weight as possible. Thanks for the input in your video you did a great job. PS: I would invest in there knee pads you will be glad you did just like the saddle you can wear them to the tree and they stay put and you don't even know you have them on. Even if you do not knell into the tree most of the time you will be glad you have them when you do to help steady your shot or just to take a break for a bit and sit in different position.
Great video. I just ordered one during their Black Friday deal. I’ve had the Tethrd Phantom for the last few years but on some all days sits recently it was riding up my butt and I had to keep pulling it down throughout the day. Looking forward to the versatility of this one.
Vey good video review. I have been looking at the Method2, but I too, was concerned about my “ barrel”. So glad someone with a comparable body type is providing reviews. The interweb is full of skinny guys giving reviews. Keep up the great work.
Hey man, as someone just getting into saddle hunting I enjoyed your video. Everything you said about the method I agree with. I'm extremely happy with getting it myself.
@@cardinalcrazy09 yep very comfortable. Like with all saddles, it took some experimenting with where the bridge is at, etc. Once I dialed that in, it was money.
Have you hunted from this saddle yet? I’m just getting into this mobile thing. Would you recommend saddle or lock on if you only had one to start with?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Had a Mantis for a couple years. Wanted an upgrade but was hesitant about a two panel so I went with the Classic 2 single panel and will use my old recliner strap from my Mantis. Kind of wish I went with the Method 2 but the Classic 2 is fantastic. If you lean in your saddle 100% of the time you won’t need knee pads. If you sit at all, you may want to consider them or at least a cushion that wraps around tree. I found knee pads to be easier.
Nice review, I’m running almost the same setup this year, EDP platform with the Latitude classic 2 saddle. It was toss up on witch style saddle to get. I’m extremely happy with the saddle and platform. Well…it’s time to saddle up and sit in backyard tree for my hour of practice.
If you have an old stand sitting around take the seat off it and tie some rope to it and use that for a cushion for your knees while leaning into the tree. Cheaper then buying knee pads and less restrictive
I was checking those things out at TAC....I'm not a huge fan of heights, don't know how comfortable I'd be with my ass hanging out in the air like that
Well im debating that now, I have a set of trophy line mini double step sticks that I can get about 19 foot witn cable aiders or. Im debating using my homemade beast / ewo sticks.
Hey Jayce, I see it has been a while since you made this video. I was wondering if you use it this past season and what your thoughts were on it now. I have been looking at this saddle for a while now. Maybe you can give me some pros and cons on it to help me make my decision.
Hey Man! I did use the method 2 xl last season, I didnt use it as much as planned due to missing 6 weeks due to Covid but in December I ran it on 7 or 8 hunts and I really liked it. Pros the rope belt is awesome and superior to many other types of belts. I find the saddle very comfortable. It has endless adjustments. Con, I sometimes found it sagging while walking long distances but that may be due to me having a full dump pouch and no butt. LOL. Id also look at the Tx5 Lonestar video I made. I think thats a great option as well. Thanks!!
Jayce, I did watch the Tx5 Lonestar video. it does look like a nice saddle. I use to use the Anderson tree sling with climbing spurs in the early days and that's one of my reasons why I am looking for a 2 panel to try out. I am also looking at the ESS and the transformer by overwatch outdoors..
How long have you actually set in one of these? I usually sit for at least 3 hours minimum or maybe 5-6 on my ladder stands. I just can't see going to all this set up trouble for like an hour or two. Thinking the legs are gonna get very tired?
Ill be very honest ive sat in mine for an hour about 5 different times. I have not hunted out of one yet, but I have several good friends who swear by them for all day sits even. Its all about finding the saddle that fits you correctly.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors the state of Michigan in the tree stand one. I noticed now I'm not the only person to ask about it. Might be worth looking into making a run.
I have the first method saddle. It is the best saddle I have ever used. 2 panel is the way to go. An if the leaning tree was over where a big buck was going to be everyone that was smart would be in it.
I think the .5 is teh perfect saddle platform. Its only 1.7 lb more then a regular platform and makes the crappy offside shots easy. Im going beast stand and sticks this year but will probably go back to a saddle next year to have both. Also you will need kneepads bro.
I love the video so far but since this is all about hunting, being outside and doing it safely. I hope you have a hose next to your fire. Smoky the bear would be upset !
Get knee pads. Every once in a while you want to lean into the tree. Saddle hunting involves changing your position every once in a while to remain comfortable.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I have the Arc'terryx knee pads. They're solid. But I've also heard really good things about the Tethrd and Trophyline knee pads.

Still use the saddle? Use it or the lone wolf climber more?
I haven't used the method 2 in over a year. I switched over to the tx5 lodestar
Once you put weight on your tether how easy is that hitch tender to adjust or does it stay bit into the rope
Depends on hard u set the hitch, even at my weight I can work it loose with one hand .

I agree. Love my Classic.
Daisy chain your tether up then put the last loop thru your carabiner, daisy chain on you tube then practice it great for all hanging ends.
I should try this.
I also was at TAC and tried the method 2 saddle and felt very safe. I will be ordering my soon. Thanks for all your video's
You are very welcome! Its an awesome saddle!
Do you get pinched at your hips. Im 70 yrs and have an artificial hip and hunt with a crossboe
There is a little hip pinch, Ive found after a few hours but u can just adjust the saddle and find a spot to reduce it.
Weight isn't much of an issue as bulk is to me
This saddle is not bulky at all.
Love the shirt
Thanks 👊

Could I ask how big you are? I am 6'2" 300 and size 44 pants . Thinking about this saddle vs the phantom xl
