    There must have been a change in the Van. I got one of these and the cross bars are about an inch and a half too short. Plus they attach to the side rails on the SIDE with a piece of plastic. I am going to get some real car top carriers and run those on top of the side rails.

    Hi, Where did you buy the roof rack. Also, what attachments did you use to attach the panels to the rack? (Link would be great). THANKS!!

    BART, what hardware did you end up using to attach solar panels to your Fiamma rack? I have the same rack installed and am having a difficult time finding a hardware solution

    It looks like you mounted the crossrails upside down as the groove which fits the bits is pointing to the roof instead of up to the sky. Can someone confirm? I'm also curious about the dimensions on the grooves.

    Hey Bart - looking at this awning as well, how has it held up? Can you confirm that you can adjust the spacing on the cross bars to meet whatever size your panels are?

      It still works perfectly fine. The awning fits into the rack brackets, which don't have a particular location.

    Hey Bart, thanks for all the vids! Im about to install my Fiamma rack and I noticed you didn't use the recommended Sika 252, did you figure out something else to use or did you just raw dawg it?

      no, I used it. After I had it assembled I lifted each piece back up and applied. Once the caulk dries, you ain't moving it to adjust anything.

    Looks like the rack runs a little over $800. Looks like the quality is good.

    Thanks for the video. DId you need to drill holes into your van to fit in those bolts?

    I like the roof rack you used. Did you use the standard size of the XL size?

    Hello and thank you for the video! I was wondering if you can modify the positioning of the middle bars? Also, do you have a model number for the rack and the awning that you used? Thanks!!

      I have a big AC in the back and a roof top vent in the front. You have to have once cross bar at the rear behind the AC unit, the other four you can put where you want.

    Did you buy that thru Panther RV? What was the lead time? Will you be adding a F65 awning? .........like you said - not cheap Thanks

    • @onthetrailwithbart523
      @onthetrailwithbart523  6 років тому

      @@CalmTurtle2023 There is a 159 non extended model, it is just about 20 feet long so just barely fits into a parking space. They sent the rack with just three mounting units per side so that gives a long span, I order two more mounts so I can use all eight of my van's mounting points.

      Yea, that would be nice.
      But then it would have things you don't care about on it, and be missing things you DO want.
