- For my final Master's recital at New England Conservatory, I decided to play a few of my arrangements that I made inspired by my videos. JVKE's Golden Hour has a special place in my heart, and I decided to make a cello and piano arrangement. Special thanks to Andrew Li for playing Golden Hour with me! Seriously, the piano part is about 10x harder than the cello part haha

ayy, I'm not the only one that noticed it. I don't play piano but I enjoy listening to the piano; especially, if the cello and the piano are together. Out of all the instruments to play with the piano, the cello is the best one since it complements the piano so beautifully. I have not yet seen another instrument complement a piano as magnificent as the cello.
The piano part is not very hard.

That was DEFINTELY my favorite part... Like, "Let me just slide this up in here... Nope, Nobody is watching me..." The only thing missing is the quick glance to the right and left.
This was the first version of the song I had ever heard. When I heard the actual song I was shocked how much more I enjoyed this version. This piece moves me. It makes my hair stand on end.

JVKE's 'Golden Hour' has a very special place in my heart because of is wonderful and heartfelt lyrics, and also its beautiful and riveting melody. I'm just amazed by how beautiful you both performed this song in your Master's recital. I really love the wondrous sound of this cover version. Fantastic work to you both!

One of the rare times a pop song actually deserves to a popular song. It is a beautifully composed piece of music. This was an equally beautiful rendition, good job boys.

It may have been risky, but choosing a song you love really payed off! You can really hear when a players heart is in it, and that’s beautiful!
Dunno how this got recommended to me as I know nothing about classical music and close to nothing about music in general. But I really like this. It's very beautiful. I can't perceive it the same way educated and experienced musicians can but whatever I do perceive with my brain this is very easy and pleasant to listen to, all the details are pretty, it's all so beautifully woven in together. I have no idea what exactly you arranged and which piece you took from to put this together but whatever you did it was in good taste. Thank you for sharing.

You don’t have to be classically trained to appreciate beauty! Don’t EVER allow yourself to feel excluded from any art form. If you feel something, if it resonates then you get it.
Admire importantly, you don’t have to get a lot of it, but just taking a chance and stepping out of your comfort zone to explore and experience something new can be a genuine gift in and of itself.
There’s so much beauty in this world, it belongs to all of us and no one at once.

The absolute beauty of music is that you don't have to be able to articulate WHY music is good. If you have the ear for it, it's simply apparent when something IS good. Articulating it can be nice, but appreciation is more important. I'm so glad you can appreciate and understand WHEN music is good, because music has a direct connection to the human soul on a level that, while it CAN be analyzed and articulated, it absolutely isn't necessary to feel fulfilled in simply listening.

I'm going through all the Golden Hour piano covers and I'm like, they're so beautiful and then I came across this video cover and I'm also like, "Wow, that's even more beautiful!!!!"
It's these kinds of arrangements that really give you an idea of what the cello's strong advantage is compared to most stringed instruments; it replicates the range of the human voice. Having a song like Golden Hour where you can swap the vocals for the cello, it also sings.
Being picky - i feel like even violins can do that, whether on first position or higher position on G and D strings
Nothing against cello though, they’re all great!

Congrats on your successful recital. My friend performed her first year Master’s recital in operatic voice performance a couple of weeks ago. So relieved after hours and hours and hours and HOURS of practicing. Now she’s off to sing in Vienna over the summer, the poor thing.

I saw this on Instagram first and I could not help my self and I found myself watching this beautiful video with such a wonderful song. It gave me shivers listening to this song for some reason.
