I have so much to ask that words are not enough. I was on my search to find my other self and I did. It is a beautiful thing to be able to see you in person and to know you in real. My intuition even if is affected by fear is sending me a picture of you and I
True :) I forgot to mention the dividends too... That would have been helpful to differentiate. Was thinking of talking about the account statement too which would be the only place I know of to split dividends away from refunds in terms of the positive fees numbers. Even then though, the account statement is confusing. I downloaded the spreadsheet version and it's tough to make it simple.
Very useful, thank you. On my portfolio table, my copy of Zech is reported as 21% up, but that doesn't match the 'invested' and 'value' columns. The real figure, with refunds included, is 30% up, a significant difference. I wonder why eToro don't include fees/refunds in their P/L% calculation.
Thanks for the video, really insightful. I may be wrong, but I think when fees are in the +, this may include the accumulated dividend payments from that particular stock. After watching your video I checked my portfolio and noticed all my dividend-paying stocks had healthy + fees in that column....Nice surprise!
Heya James :) That's fantastic - yeah, I completely forgot to talk about dividends in that vid - I'm going to make a little 'addendum' to go over it. So are you saying that if you trade a stock manually which gives dividends, the dividend payments are also shown in the fees column of that stock in the portfolio? As far as I'm aware the money from dividends from manual trades goes straight to your 'available cash' right? That seems about right...
Exactly, a bit like yourself this is all a bit of an Etoro voyage of discovery. But what I gather is that the funds from a single stock dividend randomly drop into the Cash Available section (bottom left screen). Thanks to you I now realise that they also show in the fees column, but can also, of course, be found in the Statements section... Gotta admit, that this has changed my perspective on dividend-paying stocks. If the stock is doing well or just ok, it's a win-win.@@SocialTrading
Heya - it depends on you really - you can do both. If you just leave it, the person you're copying will use any profits in their new trades. If you want to withdraw it though, you can. Depends on your goals... I'm currently leaving it, as i want to take advantage of the 'compounding' idea and grow my account size. It's not the only way though!
Hi Tom, great vid as always. If someone trades currency, they get refunds or fees depending if they are long or short, so you can't really tell just by looking at their most frequent trades. Also, were you aware that weekend fees are collected on Wednesday or Friday? I used to open currency trades on Mondays and close them on Fridays but was still being charged weekend fees, Until my account manager at etoro explained it to me.
That's a good point! :) Yeah, I knew about the Wednesday and Friday collection days. It's just that all I do is copytrade, so I pretty much look at everything through that lens.
Thanks :) On this page www.etoro.com/trading/fees/ it looks like it's saying there's no overnight fees, but I'd check that again. I just went to open a trade (I didn't actually open one, but looked at the trade dialogue which popped up) and I didn't see any overnight or weekend fees shown there at the bottom...
I have bought Apple stock, and I didn't use leverage, still appears a fee of -2$ , and I invested also in VOO and appears a fee of +2.16$ . why I am getting fees? you said no fees for stocks and ETF if I dont use leverage
I noticed on your history the refund is added to the end value. However on mine, it just shows the profit from the share value, I can see the refund value under the fees column but the refund is not added to end value, why is it not showing? Has Etoro not paid me the refund?
@@SocialTrading yeah whnwver i tried to trade crypto currencies i could only buy. Long. But i am in UK so maybr there were and are some extra post brexit restricions im not aware of
Hi there - I honestly have no idea... It's a good question. I'd get in touch with eToro directly, and tell them you need to find traders with Islamic accounts - they may have an easy way for anyone who can show it's for religious reasons. I don't know that for sure by the way... But it's worth a try I think.
Sorry but I can’t understand if someone want to help me. I have increase my investments almost 10% from the beginning and iam negative in balance 18 dollars . What is this ? Iam almost one week in etoro
not sure you are aware of it as you are not in the UK. From january people trading on etoro in the Uk, in order to trade cryptos, have to pass the test to prove they know something about the crypto. the test is quite hard to pass. you have to really have some proper knowledge of them. if you dont pass the test, or dont attempt, you are not allowed to trade cryptos in UK on etoro from now on. i guess it has something to do with brexit regulations.
The Crypto questions are due to FCA regulations introduced last year and companies had until Jan to get their users who are based in UK to go through the questions. It is not Brexit related, just a collection of anti-travel rules, UK tax, and FCA.
@@PeterUKTV Alot of GOV's been bringing in crypto regulations its on a country-by-country basis. Just UK had this weird ask questions rule to identify high net worth investors and supposedly inform people. go figure

Thanks for watching!
The positive fees are dividends.
@@bartz4439 Nevertheless they are shown in that specific column.
You get overnight fees refunds too. I had a BABA leveraged position and i had refunds. Do not know how they calculate it

I think it'd be a much better stat if they were included. More of the whole picture.
Thank you, amazing video. Well done. This was very valuable information for me. Much appreciated.
Thanks so much :) Glad it was helpful!
Great video, two of my copies have positives fees GREAT! thank you.

its a bit like big brother (evicting from the portfolio) stopping copying the person who is doing worst :D
It was a bit of a shock when I saw the extent of the fees...
i noticed cryptos most of them if not all you can only long them, you cant short them. i think its new adjustment too.

Hi Tom
Hi there!
Is etoro one ofvthe cheapest for overnight and weekends fees amongst other brokers
I actually don't know - you'd have to check. Sorry, I know it's a massive hassle :)
I would get rid of Javier if he crosses -$100 loss (i think in your portfolio he is on -$80 loss at the moment, altogether with fees)
Seems a fair enough idea!
Hello sir
Could you tell me please how didi you find the trader with the islamic account?
I really would love to find this kinf of traders
thank you
