It's clear to me that lego designers want to make a new space I.P, but they're forced to make it under the City branding. Still though, it's a step in the right direction
I'm so excited for these new sets. They look so good and its nice seeing city space in MORE of a futuristic space style rather than the more realistic style they had been doing (which isnt bad ofc, but isn't as exciting or creative juice educing as a made up sci-fi theme). I also love that they're making more and more smaller sets for the January wave. I'm excited to see what new things Lego does in 2024 and 2025.
Catalogs of 1997 give information about availability of sets. The catalog of Europe did not show Roboforce. The North America catalog shows the Roboforce sets with a note: Not available in Mexico. That means that it only available in U.S.A. and Canada.
Maybe Lego would've named this theme Citron (city-tron) if it wasn't already a european car brand. Edit: the car brand is actually Citroen and now I feel stupid.
53:51 I think that was purposeful. This is clearly intended to be a closer to modern day sub theme. Though I'd definitely prefer something a little more out there like Life on Mars or MTron.
Hey slugger, Your cat is so adorable to see as I'm returning since I lost my old UA-cam account this summer and the one made to replace it in another data breach. But I have been enjoying your videos for about a year or so. Missed the summer of slug but I will watch the vods.
@@RRSlugger it will be @Al-Inverse since InverseGame was compromised during the summer and it seems my photo of being at a lan event in front of a crowd is gone. The account has some soccer vod and some other stuff but is either a whipped and sold im assuming as I got that name after a phase to rebrand for exports and InverseGame is lost. As I left after over 15 years of competing.so I'm fine with that for the most part. As I'm having a career that pays by the hour and doesn't require top cut to get paid.
Happy New Year Slugger! As a big space fan, i have mixed feeling about the new sub theme. I think it’s a step in the right direction but these sets are missing something. Kinda like how I feel about modern Lego City in general. We certainly need another wave to expand on these tho imo. Also I know you’re not the biggest fan of modern Lego sets but you should give Lego Classic a try. I was going through a bit of a “lego burnout” phase for a few months and Classic is what pulled me back. I think Lego is at it’s finest when they leave you a room to craft your own story. This theme is literally that. It’s not just random part packs for kids. Some of these has it’s own vague theme and story. It has newer pieces but I never feel overwhelmed by them. I was having way too much fun with it as an adult.
Thanks for the great comment! And I'm right there with you in regards to the new Space sets. 💯 I've been meaning to grab a LEGO Classic set one of these days - just waiting for the right one! 🙂

Hahahaha
I just heard your comment about the Classic Space figs, that they are expensive. The Gigabots of Insectoids are not cheap as well

I'm ready for another year of R.R. Slugger!
Me too! 😊
Great Stream, sad to have missed it. What would be a color or color palette that you'd like to see for a new hard Scifi theme?
Hit me with some Blue & Dark Turquoise together in a modern theme! Crucially, *no white as a primary colour!*

Good call! I'll try to seek some of those catalogs out!

That's cool! I didn't know that. 😮
@@RRSlugger Oops! I was thinking of Citroen. Citron is actually a type of plant, so that was my bad. Sorry!
@@darthmaltodextrin1899 Haha, no worries! Now I've learned two things! 😉
Got to watch the stream after it happened. Looked like a fun time!

The spaceship is a reference to the spaceship in the classic space logo
I think that Reddish Orange is quite usable in buildings.
I think its redundant color. Just as 5 different light blues
It is not Sand Red. I know. 😂

Thank you! I'll pass along the compliment! 😉
Btw, what was the name of your old account? Just so I can update my mental log. 😊

Too bad these usually happen when I'm alseep, but at least I can watch the streams afterwards. Happy New Year Slugger!
Happy New Year! 😊
Thanks again Slugger! Happy New Year 🎉
Eternally crushed I missed a LIVE RR Slugger stream but I'm as equally grateful for the fact we have this lovely archive of it. Thanks Slugger!
Sorry! This one was a bit of a spur of the moment to test the equipment again. In the future, I'll try to announce them more ahead of time! 🙂
@@RRSlugger Hey no harm no foul man. At the end of the day I've got a 4 hour video I can vibe with so all well ends well. Keep up the good work!
I’m so sad I missed this! Happy new year!
