Thank you! Was always curious. Keep trying to find one on clearance. I’d still want a 16 inch for the breaker bar, but could be convinced otherwise if there is a deep enough discount on the 14 inch.
I just got a clearance 16" 40v. How can I change this to a 14 or 12" bar and chain? Which bar will work w/ this sprocket and keep it oiling the chain in the proper place hole? Trilink bar and chain work? ty
basically bars and chains are all a standard. walmart sells the 14" and 12" they had them all on clearance a bit ago. I usully grab bar/chain combos cheaper than the dual chain packs. why would you want to go shorter?
There isn't really any difference between the two except for the price. They add a couple of bells and whistles onto the 16" and sell it for a higher price than the 14" but one is actually as good as the other. I would however advise against ripping thru logs lengthwise like that. Doing that is hard on a gasoline saw (though I still do it) but you will burn the motor up quick doing that with one of these battery powered saws. They just aren't designed for that kind of heavy use.......
just testing, I wouldnt worry about a brushless motor lol. the motor will start smoking letting you know its too hot though lol. ignore the signs motor may melt a coil wire or desolder itself
I have to find a parts list to see if they have the same exact motor. I suspect them do. it's a game everyone plays with chainsaws. example the blackmax 16" chainsaw and the blackmax 18" chainsaw both have 25cc motor. so exactly why cant an 18" bar be put on the 16". the only actual difference is one comes in a box the other comes in a carrying case...
@@bobspurloc see hart said it themselves the bars will fit all of the saws but it's not recommended to switch over because the saws all have different motors but I believe it's possible as long as you buy the 16 or the 18 saw with the supercharge motor
i just used what i bought at walmart awhile ago. or I will use oil from my last oil change in car which will obviously drain faster but lubricates also

took me awhile to find one cheap enough to buy just because. all the stores were being greedy

@@bobspurlocHart said the 14" bar will overrev the 16" motor. idk bout that. How to find if they're the same volt/amp motor? ty

I don't know about that because I took down full size trees with mine
I could hear a tonal pitch difference. The 16” seemed height in frequency and perhaps speed. Idk if it means more torque though.
