- This is Chapter 1 of "The Blue Castle" written by L. M Montgomery, the treasured Canadian author of beloved "Anne of Green Gables."
It is my pleasure to present LM's only novel set in Muskoka, a place every bit as wonderful as could be described.
Thanks to everyone who is supporting us by subscribing, liking, or watching more of our videos!

Thank you so much!
Favourite romantic novel of my girlhood..could not have been more pleased to have it narrated by such a perfect voice! You are a very nice dear, very nice deer...
Thank you! 😊
This has always been one of my very favorite books. I love to reread it every few years. Thank you for making these wonderful recordings. 💕💚💙💕
This is so wonderful! Thank you so much.
Starting to listen once again (have listened to the whole book several times already), so grateful to you for reading this 🥰
This is my favorite LM Montgomery book ~ thanks for the Audio. :)
I always love this story. Chapter 1 describes how glad Valancy was to see rain, instead of getting to go to a family picnic, and have her age of 29 rubbed in her face. She lives with her mom, and "Cousin Stickles". No back-story on how the cousin-aunt came to stay with them, but her dad died when she was a baby, and the cousin-aunt was widowed as well. No one knew what to do with a woman who was 29 and unmarried. There also isn't a back-story on how they started calling her "Doss". It's insulting that they rub in her face of being unmarried at 29; that she's still a child. But Aunt Wellington doesn't have any more maturity if she refuses to have her celebration on another day. Or if others keep rubbing in her age, her status, or that a teaspoon went missing. Who can blame Valancy for escaping to fantasies, or get lost in whatever books she was allowed to read?
Thank you so much for making these recordings! You did a great job, and you've an easy voice to listen to.
Hello👋
This amazing! Thank you. Your voice is like a dream.
Thank you!! I was just thinking there were no audiobook versions of this story! I'll start listening as soon as I finish Anne of Green Gables!
Not even 2 minutes in. And feeling so called out. I turn 29 this year. I've never gone on a date. I've never even been asked on a date. Oh goodness. This book is gonna hurt isn't it?
Thank you very much for your work! This has always been one of my very favorite books.

Thank you so much for recording this book. You do an excellent job!
This is fantastic - thanks so much for recording it!
Thank you for reading this lovely book for our listening pleasure. Can I convince you to do the same with Jane of Lantern Hill, also by LM Montgomery?
Thank you!
You have the best reading of The Blue Castle, slowly and with emotions.
I wish you would start reading Emily of New Moon, the first of the "Emily" series.
The reading of Emily is terrible.
Stanley
I would like a description of the story and how many chapters there are.
I like it if it's Karen Savage. But this one is okay
