Sir, your lectures are very educative. Congratulations. About clockwise or anti clockwise in a curve. I think it is a matter of tradition to take the curve in clock wise direction. If you take anticlock wise than limits are negative of limits of clockwise and normal unit vector will have also negative sign. Result : the integral have same value in both case.

Wonderful job Bhagwan, the reason why the circulation has to be taken anticlockwise is because x cross y will be pointing in the z direction in the right handed system ( which we have chosen), and the z direction is out of the plane of the board here this gives the direction of the curl.

Sir, your explanation is just awesome. You teach really well and you cleared all my doubts. Sir my question is: In the first question, the curve taken was a 2-dimensional curve. So can we evaluate that integral using Green's theorem? Which is easier: Greens or Stokes theorem for the 2-D surface?

About clockwise or anti clockwise in a curve. I think it is a matter of tradition to take the curve in clock wise direction. If you take anticlock wise than limits are negative of limits of clockwise and normal unit vector will have also negative sign. Result : the integral have same value in both case.

Yes sir in q2) if we take y = +under root 1-x^2 then during solving we can take x = sin(theta) and on solving we get π as result
But we have to change limits in that case too like when x = -1 then theta = 3π/2 and when x = +1 then theta = π/2.
Sir, Stoke's theorem ke last numerical me agar line integral x ki limits ko -1to1 put karen to answer -pi/2 aa raha hai.Parametric coordinates se ans. pi aa raha hai, dono ans. match nhi kar rahe.Please clear karen doubt sir.

Wonderful job Bhagwan, the reason why the circulation has to be taken anticlockwise is because x cross y will be pointing in the z direction in the right handed system ( which we have chosen), and the z direction is out of the plane of the board here this gives the direction of the curl.

Sense of the curves are taken anticlockwise because work done by a cycle in PV diagram in thermodynamics is positive for anticlockwise direction and negative for clockwise direction. Hence, that convention is followed.
