How to Dehydrate Figs in a DEHYDRATOR

When it’s fig season, it really is fig season! It may be short lived but if you have a fig tree you can certainly experience abundance. Once ripe, figs don’t stay fresh for very long either. Dehydrating is by far the healthiest and most versatile way to preserve them. The process concentrates the sweetness into compact little morsels that store well for months or even years.

I think my figs were a bit dry as in not very juicy when I started. I dehydrated them for 20 hours, then brushed them with Cointreau and did it for another 2. I then left them to dry naturally.in dehydrated with lots of space.

My neighbor just gave me a huge bag of figs from his tree. I’m going to use my dehydrator if I don’t eat them all first!

Hi there, they will last for approx 3-6 months in an airtight container in a dry, cool place. You could freeze them in a vacuum sealer bag for up to 12 to 18 months.
