I remember Martyn from the MSG in Manchester in the late 60s and 70s. I love his voice and his songs. I saw him a couple of times in recent years, Warwick Festival and Cheddar Festival
I remember seeing Martyn Wyndham-Read in a folk club in the Guildford area back in the early 70s. After a great performance the bar was not licensed to sell alcohol so they offered him a coke which he refused as he "couldn't stand the stuff", preferring a glass of water instead. I've still got two vinyl LPs, one just called Martyn Wyndham-Read, and the other Ned Kelly and That Gang.
Love this and even more so as l have a grandaughter called Betsy and love the part where though he is in disguise he reveals that he is her man. Such a happy ending, along with great singing and playing.❤️
old irish folk song, sung totally differently over here.Check out irish folk band The Johnsons from the '60's who included a bloke called Paul Brady amoungst them, this version is great.

Best version of Claudy Banks I’ve ever heard.
ONE of the finest 'folk' voices has M WR......quite beautiful.
Lovely to see more of Martyn on You Tube.
I don't remember finding this 4 years ago and am really enjoying it again. Wonderful stuff.
It's always great when a great singer and a great singer meet up- great
lovely stuff!
