Only 8 players out of 22 of Yugoslavia are still alive today in 2020 was amazing team but must say every team in 1962 world cup only has about 40% are alive in 2020, like colombia has only 4 players out of 22 alive in 2020, but so far every team has lost on average 60% of the squad is dead in 2020. RIP
Well, as far as Šekularac goes, he is somewhere in BG, doing something. He has completely retired. Unfortunately, I have never had luck to see Vukas in play, but I believe he was deemed best Croatian athlete of all times, so I'll take you for your word. ;]
I agree. But that is leading at will, ultimately, lead to complete absence of technique. What Pele and Sekularac did rarely anyone can match today. I'm wondering what will my kids watch when I get older...
@babystinky Because they were running for the love of play and prestige, not for millions of euros they would lose if they don't play well. Greed ruins everything, including sports.
back then soccer was merely a hobby. Most players had real jobs while they were playing football and not a proper training plus they weren''t as athletic as they are today. (Look at Uwe Seeler for example)
@@Skeletty1710 I am sorry, but that is simply not true. Most of national teams from that time, and long earlier were professionals. Speaking about Jugoslavian football I can tel you that Jugoslavian Football Association decided that from 1935 all players in top league must have proper contracts and professionalized to avoid criminal acts of not paying tax or fake employment relations. Sekularac, one of the best player in world at that time, was most famous and beloved but in same time hated because of enormous money he earned for jugoslav situation and especially his very flamboyant lifestyle. Way of filming, TV equipment of that time gives fake feeling of slower motion. If you look at table tennis filmed in 60s or 70s it loks much slower then nowadays, but we know that was actually faster then today, because of use of different materials (celluloid balls) what is abandoned today.
Dobro je s vremena na vrijeme viditi dobre yu igrace.

Peak of Yugoslav football was this championship. After it bad organization started irreversible decline.

Ist das ein originaler Kommentar? Also auch wenn es 60 Jahre her ist: Dieser Reporter sollte besser KIndermärchen vortragen.
