Melina, after my husband passed away a couple years ago I watched Marta from Maremi Small Arts, her voice was super calming and she helped me get through some dark nights. I still need that calm voice, even now. Don’t ever let anyone tell you how long you should mourn the loss of your father, loosing someone you loved dearly is not something you ever get over! Never apologize for the tears. Sending you prayers of comfort. Hugs.

I lost my Daddy when I was 13. It nearly killed me. I was a daddy’s girl. There will be many hard days but the pain will lessen with time. But, you will 😮 always miss him my dear.

I found sewng helped my grieving when my husband passed. I also found that making greeting cards for the seniors in our church have great joy to them. Take all the time you need. I enjoy watching you. Prayers are going to you and your family. 🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏🧡❤️💚 Have you tried tea .. I'm 79 and don't take any kinds of medicine. The doctors are amazed, but I credit the Lord .. He's so good. Somehow seeing turned to seeing. Correction made.

Be good to YOU! We each have to grieve in the ways are that are best for us! When I lost my husband (14 years ago today!) I was unable to craft and I was afraid my creativity was gone forever, but it came back over time. Crafting can be a great stress reliever and if it helps you at all, that is wonderful!

I'm right there with you. 12 years for me. My husband was my biggest supporter when I was doing art of any kind. After he passed I just couldn't even walk in my craft room. I realized ,after several months ,how much I needed that outlet to work through my grief. I haven't looked back and I know he is still cheering my on from his Heavenly home. God bless you !!

Melina these are gorgeous and watching your tutorial has taught me a lot about the value of layers ... thank you.
I think the grief meanness is a natural part of the grieving process ... some direct it outward onto others while others, like yourself, direct it internally.
I'm amazed at how well you're doing ... and I know as a business family you all have to keep going ... but you really are amazing.
Sending big Aussie hugs & love to you & your wonderful mum. 💝💖

Melina, mourning is a personal thing. We all do it differently. I lost my dad in much the same way as you back in 1973 and I still miss him so. I love these little pieces of art. They remind me of the cute little hearts that you made from collaged paper earlier this year. I made about 50 of those bases. I can't wait to make some of these. Thank you for keeping on even when you don't feel like it. We love you.

I am so glad when I see that you've posted a video. I love these little collages. You are so right about how calming and soothing Bob Ross is. I have been a fan of his since his first show on PBS in 1983. I was fortunate enough to attend one of his painting seminars and meet him in person before he died. He was a beautiful man. I'm so glad you're finding comfort from him. I know Bob would be pleased that he could help you. Keep hanging in there, Melina. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.❤❤❤

Hi Miss Melina 👋 I'm quite new to your channel - found you just before your daddy passed. I watched this timely video earlier this morning (just yesterday I realized I needed some ready-to-go focal points) and am sitting here creating... I'm up to 20! I can't stop thinking about you, and as I lift you up in prayer I feel compelled to share this... nobody can tell you how to mourn your daddy's death. Both my parents passed 3 1/2 years ago - two months to the day apart. They were on hospice and both died peacefully here at home, so their passing came as no surprise. Just last week when I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the carpet where it meets the wall I came across several strands of my mom's hair - I used to trim her hair and we'd "play beauty shop", so the tears came as I mourned again/still and celebrated that silly time we shared. If you need to be sad and cry, cry, and if you need to happy and laugh, be happy and laugh. I can tell by listening to you talk that your family is very strong in Christ and, as such, you can know that your daddy is in the presence of our Savior, and if that's not cause for happiness, I don't know what is. You are clearly such a kind and gentle spirit - you do you and don't be so hard on yourself. Hugs from the southern California desert, MK 🤗🤗🏜🤗🤗

There’s no time limit on grief. Don’t ever apologize for feeling what you feel. Your love for your Dad is evident - how fortunate you are - how very fortunate to have such a strong love for him & for your family. He knew that. We know that, too. Your very tone is a clear indication. Now, hold all those memories close and bring them out & relive them often. Someday, you will be laughing at some silly stuff you shared with him. I hope it happens real soon, you lucky lady!!!

Melina, thanks for being you! Your inspiration is amazing even during your grieving process. Everything you are feeling is normal. It's tough losing those that are close to us. These are gorgeous! I like to make something from nothing as well. Girl, those tears will come when you least expect them, and that's perfectly fine! If they didn't come, I would be more concerned. I know grief all too well. Sometimes it's like the waves in the ocean and at other times it sucker punches us. Either way, you do whatever you need to do, with God's help, to deal with all the feelings, emotions, memories and all that goes with it. Keep leaning on God and remember to give yourself grace. Sending you and your family love and hugs.

These are awesome - so inspiring! Thank you for putting yourself out there, and opening up. It is good to see/hear you back. Never apologize for expressing what you are going through - everyone handles grief in their own way, and it takes time ... I lost my husband 4 years ago, and still have teary moments. You and the family are facing a "new reality" and this year of firsts - the first holiday, the first birthday, the first days back in your craft room - without Mr. Witt, are going to be the toughest. You will smile again, laugh again, enjoy things, when you feel it is right - because your Daddy would want you too... A quote that has helped me, "You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice." I pray you all find comfort in the many memories you all share. Virtual Hugs...

Melina, I love these little collage cards. After my husband died I spent too much time being angry and then guilt set in when I didn't cry everyday and I could laugh at things again. I battled for a long time over both of those and finally I was so tired of being sad and agry at myself. I knew my husband would not want me to stop living because he isn't here anymore so I pushed myself a little harder everyday to get back into a daily routine of some sort and it has been seven years. Yes I still cry when I think of him but I can also laugh when remembering the happy times that happened. So you are still early in your grief. Take the time to reflect on the happy times with your Dad and I know he wouldn't want you to stop living either. With the grace of God you'll get through this difficult time. Lean on him he will listen and guide you. I'm continuing to pray for your family and I will add your need for sleep to my prayers also. Much Love and Big hugs are sent your way. May you have a Blessed Day Melina. 🙂❤️🙏

Honey, you don't ever have to apologize for tears. Grief and mourning are part of being human. Bless your heart and prayers for your comfort.

Oh Melina I do understand and tears will come when you least expect it but that’s ok. More healing happens with every tear I believe. I will still cry out of nowhere for my mom who passed 3 years ago. She was my best friend 💕 I love what you made today! I also loved hearing a few laughs from you! Looking forward to your next video
