Used to race a dirt late model a millennia ago. These events attract cars from a lot of local tracks and competing associations so you end up with multiple drivers having the same number. When this happens the drivers usually add a letter or number or will sometime add tape to change their number. I raced in Lawton, OK for several years, when I went to these bigger races my number went from #21 to #121 to #21x to #24 to #27.
The wildest thing about the Gateway Dirt Nationals is that it's held INDOORS at an old NFL Stadium. Can you imagine if they did something like this in the UK on a football pitch??
I actually used to drive super dirt late models! Still drive dirt modifieds! As an F1 fan you should check out dirt outlaw sprintcars, they’re lighter, higher hp n torque and way more downforce than F1 for a fraction of the price! The wings and stagger those little cars run is unreal lol I’ve got to drive a couple and wow it’s almost like you’re constantly trying to catch up with the car they’re that quick ON DIRT! Used to have stickers on our toterhomes n trailers saying “dirt’s for racing, asphalt’s for getting there” a normal track may change a bit over a weekend, we have to walk tracks with metal sticks to poke different lines because they change hourly😂I was lucky enough to learn some of the tricks from my brothers friend the legend Scott Bloomquist RIP
I'll prolly get clobbered in the comments, but, this is one of those events that sounded good in the beginning but when applied to reality it leaves alot on the table. I applaud the Late Model guys for trying to make this work. Unfortunately, Late Models are just too big to race on this track. This event was spawned by the success Tulsa OK has with the indoor Chili Bowl for open wheel midgets each January. The Chili Bowl is beyond believe good. It's good because the cars are small enough to race really hard on the 1/5th mile track they build. Check out this link to the Final nights Main Event in 2021. You can make up your own mind which cars are suited to the tracks. ua-cam.com/video/qCadPkMuohI/v-deo.htmlsi=exhkHCSb9Y1E2q9s
It's actually one of the most successful late model races of the year. They get 120+ supers to show up I believe, and that's with a tiny pay day in the end compared to other events like the Dream. The track is an equalizer for sure. Late models have become so aero dependent these days. Running a short track takes all that dirty air out of the equation. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Dome stick around. If St Louis won't host it, Flo will probably find another city to make it happen.

In dirt racing you can have the Same number but usually people put a letter after the number for instance 1s 7c 4b so on and so on
England uses a 3-digit National numbering system. No two cars in the same category have the same number
The 2024 event will be happening this weekend.
I started watching this type of race in this year I think it's better than NASCAR
Can you please do a reaction to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb
I’ve done a couple videos on it already but I can do some more! 💕
