He's changing just because he wants sunny, and that's not even a real redemption. I bet he could even try to kill her again if he finds out about sunny's real feelings. Is that considered a true love? No matter how bad he loves her, he have to respect her feelings and not just forget that he cheated on her and then suddenly making moves on her. Thats so fcking stupid. If my husband did the same, i will never look at him the way i did before. So instead of shipping sunny with people we cant guarantee she will end up with(be it the emperor or wang shik) we should ship sunnyxsunny. She's fighting bravely for her dignity and justice.
Sorry but for me, he's not falling in love with her. The Emperor is used to getting his way in everything (even the most heinous crimes) and when he's faced with someone he can't subdue, he's challenged into making that person his. I agree that he's not entirely bad and that his mother is the real culprit behind his twisted personality, but under no circumstances must he end up with Sunny because that would be a huge statement about the gratification of male ego (something I believe the writer is subtly giving us a message about in the progress of this drama). I also have misgivings about NWS loving Sunny because right now, it only looks to me as if he's using her to play and manipulate the Emperor. NWS fully understands his personality and psyche thus he knows right from the start that he can make the Emperor interested in Sunny (who doesn't give a shit about him) by actually pursuing the latter. Observe that NWS has been very keen into establishing carefully placed connections within the Royal Family (evident in his fake relationship with the Princess) that he can use to his advantage.
Well it works out well in the end. Not that much tho considering what happened to him. And he said his last line "I love you, Sunny". So I guess at this scene, he's starting to develop his feelings but overshadowed by the "he wants to conquer her because of pride" thing.
