Lately, I haven’t been actively studying Chinese… I’ve been a bit lazy! But I've been watching a lot of Chinese dramas (I'm totally hooked on both Kdramas and Cdramas), and it's been great for improving my accent and Chinese overall. I definitely recommend Chinese dramas to anyone learning the language-it’s a fun way to practice! And of course combine with other resources also XD
What makes me really love the Chinese language is that it is unique and different from any other language despite its difficulty but this is what makes it more fun! Anyone who wants to learn this language remember that you have chosen the most difficult language so do not expect quick results. Give yourself time.
Thank you for amazing tips jiejie.🌟Watching Cdrama and repeating some of there conversations is kind of fun way to learn. Watching drama + shadowing method
My gripe is that HSK is so chunked out? It feels like you have to take a massive jump to get from HSK 1 to HSK 2, I don’t want to have too study for 100 hours to take one test. PLEASE
I've been learning Chinese for a year and half now, I struggled a lot trying to make certain spaced repetition apps my deliberate studying but id did not really work out for me. I am trying to use Pleco flashcards because I find it the least anmoying but some days I won't not down a lot of words and I think thats ok. I also vary a lot what to do (learning from textbook, reading physical books, reading electronic books, watching videos or series)... I have tried the journaling thing but I don't enjoy it because I feel like I am reinforcing wrong habits aince I don't have someone to correct me, the idea is fun though. And I do struggle with writing down long texts, could you make a video on how to actually write down something large without copying? I should probably get started with shadowing soon since I don't have many excuses to keep delaying it, and I believe my pronunciation is pretty bad. I do believe trying out a variety of things is helpful, both harder and easier, I was attempting to read a short stories collectiom recently recently and while I am able to get through it I found it frustrating that I could not comprehend much of ir, I went back to a book I dropped two months ago and my brain did brain magic but not it ia much more comprehensible and it is nice when that happens, so far I am understanding it. I have no practical reason to learn this language but I do it for fun, it opens up a new world for me and that's always really nice.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I can totally relate to the ups and downs of finding the right study methods and feeling both the rewards and frustrations along the way. It sounds like you’ve built an awesome mix of study activities. I get what you mean about journaling! It can be tough without feedback, but if you enjoy the idea, maybe shorter daily reflections could work, or even using simpler sentences to reinforce accuracy. I’ve also had that "brain magic" moment of returning to something I previously struggled with and suddenly grasping it better - it’s such a great feeling.😇 Enjoy the journey of learning Chinese and Good Luck✨
To improve your Chinese tones, I have a couple of suggestions for you. 1. Learn the Basics: There are four tones in Mandarin (high, rising, falling-rising, and falling). 2. Listen and Imitate: Practice listening to native speakers and mimic their tone patterns. 3. Use Tone Pairs: Practice words that differ only in tone to get used to tone changes. 4. Record Yourself: Compare your pronunciation with native speakers and adjust. 5. Slow Down: Speak slowly at first to ensure accurate tone pronunciation. 6. Shadowing: Repeat phrases immediately after native speakers to match their tone and rhythm. Consistent practice will help you master the tones over time! I hope this helps^^

Thanks for sharing this tips it’s really useful. Can you tell us which pen you have used in the video for writing 😊
If you're referring to the pen I used on the tablet, it's a Samsung S Pen. If you mean the one I used on paper, it's a Muji Cap-type gel ink pen. ^^

Does anyone else use Chinese movies or dramas to help with listening practice?
If I learn Chinese, will it help me learn Kanji?
In a very roundabout way, yes
