    Awesome, I ve had this idea of a 2jz boat motor but I had no idea that it could power a boat that big so fast ⏩, love it great job

      @@psiracing Well, you were jumping into a totally new area of tech. Was a steep learning curve to tackle, quickly that is.

    Going fast in a boat is just like going fast in a car... if you're sitting on the hood.

    Weird I don't remember this boat, been to every LOTO shootout since the shooter's days. Cool boat and I'm glad someone did a smaller displacement big turbo build and was successful. If you did it again, would you use a gearbox next time, seen a couple people use modified sequential boxes in combination with surface drives to good effect.

      I beleive we ran late Saturday if I'm not mistaken. You can kinda see from the video that the boat line ups were kinda thin.
      If I did do it again I would do the same setup but go from a 3.0 displacement to a 3.4L. That should make it alot more user friendly low end but still give us the rpm we need to go faster.

    Great video! I've never really considered the difference between making a car go fast as opposed to a boat. Obviously a very different set of variables to deal with. Thank you for sharing!

      Yea definitely screws with your head. Took some time to get it right but once we did, man it was fun

      Boat with a prop is essentially like doing a dyno pull from idle, in high gear.

    Wild I came across your original posts of that boat when I was researching prop aerators recently since I’m having a hard time getting enough slip to get going without bogging the engine down. I’m planning to build a similar design to yours! Very cool. The amount of testing to get boats to work that well is a labor of love. When you built your aerator do you remember what size tubing you used? And how close to the prop it needed to be to properly draw air down?

    Sounds like a variable pitch prop would be great to change the aggressiveness once the turbp is spooled

    • @psiracing
      @psiracing  7 годин тому

      Not enough variable pitch props out there, once we got it figured out, the prop we ran worked perfect and it was only $600. Not even a labbed version, just basic right out of the box.

    Is he saying super motor or Supra motor because it sounds like he's saying super which does not make any sense and does not apply to this situation at all other than the fact that super could be used as a descriptive term to describe a 2JZ engine because it is a super engine but it's not a super engine it's a Supra engine

    • @psiracing
      @psiracing  7 годин тому

      Hahahahaa it's super supra 2jz engine! That better??
