How about you just practice before a tour and you won’t mess up so much? I’m kinda concerned by how much the guys are trying to defend this behaviour. Also surprised because they claim that “everybody does it”. But concerned because I didn’t think it was this widespread.
What's funny about your comment is that there's another feature on the DVD showing how they rehearsed before the show. But it is true that tons of bands do overdubs on their "live" albums, and have for decades.
jravell - Most live albums are doctored in the studio but of course nobody wants it to be known... One of the first groups to admit it were Hot Tuna... On the back cover of their 1976 "Live Double Dose" it reads: "Additional recording at Wally Heider Studios, San Francisco"

If they were trying to hide the overdubbing they did they wouldn't have included this video of them doing it on the album
