I never managed to pass this mission. The problem for me is that I usually can muster a large enough force to take the first base, but then I don't have enough time to replenish for the second attack before a ridiculous amount of Confederation reinforcements comes in and obliterates everything. It's so annoying. Edit. I tried again after I watched this. I failed because both of my bases were destroyed. Though I would have destroyed both Confederation bases if the game had not stopped me. But then I tried again. Established air defenses and just went full out. And I FINALLY won. After like the 10th time. This video really helped me. Thank you very much.

Go to the Defender Upgrade menu in the main menu, search for an anti-air, and then open it
How about the airfield??
