Great stuff. If this were in 4/4 time I'd call it Jazz! The fact that the natural instinct here is to clap on the offbeat makes it JAZZ, which, of course, derives from Black religiosity. The minister would shout something, then leave a space where the parishioners could respond, "Amen."
