And they sing every word at the top of their lungs. Practically trying to scream their thank you. They can't thank this band enough for what they've done for them. All the nights they were on the verge of doing something horrible, they helped them through it. And this song, it gave them their hope back. This song saved their life.

All the feels. I almost committed suicide when I was 16, after dropping out of school from bullying and having parents who neglected me because of their own problems. But I didn't because these girls I met online saved me. They were the first real friends I ever had, and what we had in common was music. Music like Simple Plan. I used to blast Untitled all the time because I related to it so much. And all of SP's music. Hearing this song brings me back to those times when I was in so much pain, but also reminds me of the power that music has. It changes so many lives, and this song is testament to that. Today, I'm 23 years old, about to graduate college, and my life could not be more amazing. 16 year old-me would never have known that she would end up here, after all the pain, living the life I have today. I have amazing friends at school, my family life has improved tremendously, I live in the city I could only dream about at the time (New York), I no longer feel ugly and awkward, my skin problems are gone, I'm finally realizing my dream of being an illustrator (after telling myself I would never be an artist because I'm not good enough), and I've just had so many crazy experiences that I never thought would happen to me. Actually im from latin america, and even though you probably wont read this, im 16 too, and im going through the same (or almost the same) pain, cause i live in Venezuela (the worst country wich you can live in) and Im poor obviously (im writing this whit an Alcatel U3). I dropped a handful of pills and I mean atleast 40 pills and washed it down with as much fun as I could. Got nearly half a fifth down then the last thing I remember was packing my bowl with spice (normally only needed a small hit to feel good) and I ripped the whole bowl then exhaling and waking up in a hospital. Apparently I was dead for nearly 3 minutes. I woke up to a nurse staring at me kinda mad and just went "Youre So lucky to be alive right now" then storming out. Makes me appreciate life more knowing that I died for nearly 3 minutes and all I saw was darkness. No beautiful light, no angels, no loved ones, just darkness. I hope there is something after death besides darkness but that suicide attempt woke me up and made me fear death in a weird way.

I have seen, heard, and read about so many fans informing a band or singer/ musician that their music, or a song , or even that person, saved the fan’s Life. This is a wonderful thing for an idol to hear, it allows them to know their material is actually making a difference, but the truth is: its not them. The fans saved themselves. They found strength through the music. It inspired them or they felt it understood them. I gave them the friend they needed when no one else was their. So yes music can save lives, but not directly. Music simply allows the listener to find what they need with in it, whether it be hope, understanding, a shared emotion or idea, or even a distant friend. Music will always be there.

I was 14, hanging out in a mall corner, crying my head of over the seemingly overwhelming problems of my world torn down. Then, I heard my first Simple Plan song: Welcome to my Life. This band DID save my life: I had been betrayed by my best friend in the world, and he took my old GF with him. My parents were fighting all the time, and kids at school saw me as a freak. But like something out of a movie, the next day, I got a new best friend, and that same year we played at Battle of the Bands at our school for the first time, and won. This will be our third year competing, and I'd like to play this song or Welcome to my Life, in order to commemorate a life that could have been lost, and celebrate a life that is always worth living. I know it's hard when you feel like you've hit the bottom of the barrel, but the good thing about being at the bottom of something is that you can only go up from there. I used to blast Untitled all the time because I related to it so much. And all of SP's music. Hearing this song brings me back to those times when I was in so much pain, but also reminds me of the power that music has. It changes so many lives, and this song is testament to that.
Today, I'm 23 years old, about to graduate college, and my life could not be more amazing. 16 year old-me would never have known that she would end up here, after all the pain, living the life I have today. I have amazing friends at school, my family life has improved tremendously, I live in the city I could only dream about at the time (New York), I no longer feel ugly and awkward, my skin problems are gone, I'm finally realizing my dream of being an illustrator (after telling myself I would never be an artist because I'm not good enough), and I've just had so many crazy experiences that I never thought would happen to me. I'm glad I held on.

Actually im from latin america, and even though you probably wont read this, im 16 too, and im going through the same (or almost the same) pain, cause i live in Venezuela (the worst country wich you can live in) and Im poor obviously (im writing this whit an Alcatel U3). I dont know what's waiting for me in the future, maybe the death, but maybe good things, and im trying my best in order to get those good things. All the mornings i get up and think: If i dont try, what if i die and there in the heaven, god tells me: look at this paper: these good things were destinated for you, and you didnt try to get them. I dropped a handful of pills and I mean atleast 40 pills and washed it down with as much fun as I could. Got nearly half a fifth down then the last thing I remember was packing my bowl with spice (normally only needed a small hit to feel good) and I ripped the whole bowl then exhaling and waking up in a hospital. Apparently I was dead for nearly 3 minutes. I woke up to a nurse staring at me kinda mad and just went "Youre So lucky to be alive right now" then storming out.
Makes me appreciate life more knowing that I died for nearly 3 minutes and all I saw was darkness. No beautiful light, no angels, no loved ones, just darkness. I hope there is something after death besides darkness but that suicide attempt woke me up and made me fear death in a weird way.

I have seen, heard, and read about so many fans informing a band or singer/ musician that their music, or a song , or even that person, saved the fan’s Life. This is a wonderful thing for an idol to hear, it allows them to know their material is actually making a difference, but the truth is: its not them. The fans saved themselves. They found strength through the music. It inspired them or they felt it understood them. I gave them the friend they needed when no one else was their. So yes music can save lives, but not directly. Music simply allows the listener to find what they need with in it, whether it be hope, understanding, a shared emotion or idea, or even a distant friend. Music will always be there.

I was 14, hanging out in a mall corner, crying my head of over the seemingly overwhelming problems of my world torn down. Then, I heard my first Simple Plan song: Welcome to my Life. This band DID save my life: I had been betrayed by my best friend in the world, and he took my old GF with him. My parents were fighting all the time, and kids at school saw me as a freak. But like something out of a movie, the next day, I got a new best friend, and that same year we played at Battle of the Bands at our school for the first time, and won. This will be our third year competing, and I'd like to play this song or Welcome to my Life, in order to commemorate a life that could have been lost, and celebrate a life that is always worth living. I know it's hard when you feel like you've hit the bottom of the barrel, but the good thing about being at the bottom of something is that you can only go up from there. I hope that for anyone who experiences equal, similar, or worse pain than I did finds a song that saves their life, and a person who is worth fighting for. If you're down, if you're drowning, I hope you can message me on here before you do anything, because I can guarantee you, because of Simple Plan and because of the person I am today, I'll be able to get you through it. :D

I've contemplated suicide. Two days ago, I knew I didn't want to commit suicide, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to live either. I've had more severe suicidal thoughts in the past, but a few days ago I was debating with myself so I listened to "Friend, Please" by twenty one pilots and now feel amazing.
there will never ever be a good reason to end your life god put us on this earth for a great reason, for our own purpose now believe this when i say i've been through A LOT and to this day I'm pretty happy i did i was rejected by so many people, beaten as a child, being told i was worthless, lost a family member, bullied, attempted suicide twice, and nearly lost my life so many times. However there was a quote that made me think "there are two important days in your life the day you were born, and the day you found out why" and when i looked back at my life i realized all those chances, all those times i realized with all of this i can use these experiences to help and save the lives of people with similar people but I'm glad that you changed you're mind no matter what but I thank you so very much for changing your mind all i ask of you is to help people who have been in your shoes

I adore this song because Simple Plan did save my life years ago. I was a foster child abandoned by my parents stuck in racist bumfuck Oklahoma bullied & tortured everyday at school. First time I heard 'Welcome to My Life'....it saved me. I was like wow, someone finally gets it. This song is so accurate.

This song actually saved my life. When I was 14 I was sick and getting bullied and it made me so depressed and I didn't want to live anymore but this song and all of Simple Plan's songs gave me the strength to keep going. They'll always be special to me

I think this song could save my life
I know that this is about songs/music saving lives, but... Music didn't save my life, even though it made it a tiny bit more bearable. My friends did. They found me broken, choking, and close to death. I stopped believing, and they made me believe, not only that there's beauty in every person, but that there's something beautiful in myself. I don't think that they'll ever know how much they mean to me, but they literally did save my life. I probably would've contemplated/attempted suicide if they hadn't crashed into my life when they did. They're beautiful people, and I never want them to forget how loved they are. :)

I never thought I'd be writing in the comments section of this song, but here I am I guess. I have to thank my school for that. Through struggling with depression, trying to graduate, and starting hormones soon, I was alone and disappointed in myself. I go to a tiny arts school of 372 and I have to thank them all.
