@@allunderground I played it on demo disc, then when I finally got to rent it at blockbuster, the disc wouldn’t play. 😂 I ended up buying it years later
Man... the PS1, PS2, PSP, & the Dreamcast had so many stylised & colourful looking games. Gitaroo Man, PaRappa, Motor Toon Racing, Jet Set Radio, Cool Cool Toon, Wipeout Pure, Exit, just to name a few.
Why is Master Onion an onion? You got a human bullying a rapping dog in love with a flower who takes driving lessons from a moose... at that point you gotta accept its greatness and "You gotta believe!"
Was addicted to this game growing up!! Led me to my weird DDR phase.. 😅 I was that guy putting a quarter on the machines/ challenging/ destroying fools. 🙌
6:07 PaRappa designer Rodney Alan Greenblat was interviewed by Gamasutra & they asked why Master Onion was an onion & he more or less said it just came up randomly while brain storming designs for the karate master. One design looked onion-like & was chosen because he was funny looking.
Nice to see I'm not the only one who PaRappa the rapper affected as a child. I still don't know all those songs word for word. Every couple of years I'll still pull up somebody playing the game on perfect just so I can hear them songs. I also played the rock version of Um jammer lammy a whole lot growing up and in my teens when the sequel came out I picked up PaRappa the rapper 2.
Loved this game played the demo a bunch as a kid and finally played thru it about a decade ago in hs got stuck on the chicken level for like 7 months. Was great seeing yall randomly bring it up on last Mondays show.
This game brings back so many memories of anger. 😂 Me, trying to get that chicken to give me a good because I knew I wasn’t gonna get cool.😅😅😅 Craziest part for me was Parappa saying his dad was gonna bite when he trashed the car.😅 Dude what?!?! 🤣
OH YOU BROUGHT OZ IN ON THIS!! TOO GOLD!! I love Parappa the Rapper. Had so much fun with that game. Oz talking about the Cooking Show with Cheap Cheap. How could you NOT love that stage. Everyone was annoyed about stage. They felt like the game was working against them. "They won't give me a 'good'!" But Mc Kong Mushi was the stage you had to win at. That was the last one and it could be merciless. I only beat it on hard because my freestyle so so wacky. But I had the best wacky Cheap Cheap. The whole song was "butter". I've been trying to dig that out. For some reason I have the save but for some reason I couldn't pull it up on the PSOne (SCPH-100x) or the PS2. Since the save was on the old SCPH-550x. You guys need to do a segment on Um Jammy Lammy.
This game was my shit back in the day, it was one of the first video games I ever played. And the amount of times I’ve replayed it is insane. Chop Chop Master Onion’s song has been living rent free in my head since like 1998.
I only ever PLAYED the demo for this but this game marked the Xmas when I finally got a video game console with the PS1 after asking for one FOR YEARS.
“Kick, Punch it’s all in the mind”. That shit was tattooed in my mind lol
Indeed
Boy the nostalgia is real. Probably haven't touched that game in like 15 years but can still recite some of the lines lol.
This was my JAM as a kid lmao I even remember when I first got my drivers license I was humming the Driving rap to myself during the test lmaoo
Was literally gonna say "this was my jam back in the day". 😅
Glad i wasn't the only one on humming back then.... still do at 44 😂

Yall finally addressing the goat of rap 🔥🔥
Imagine having to explain playing a game on a demo disc to younger generations?
😂😂😂 FACTS before I had the game that demo disc was life as a kid. A true GOAT.
@@allunderground I played it on demo disc, then when I finally got to rent it at blockbuster, the disc wouldn’t play. 😂 I ended up buying it years later
Y’all remember the demo discs from Pizza Hut?
Those PS1 Demo discs were legendary back in the day
@skyofthelivingdead hell yea I had a bunch of the Playstation underground demos lol that'll unlock a memory if anyone remember those
Oz is a real one! I still know every single lyric featured in this masterpiece too 😂
Man... the PS1, PS2, PSP, & the Dreamcast had so many stylised & colourful looking games. Gitaroo Man, PaRappa, Motor Toon Racing, Jet Set Radio, Cool Cool Toon, Wipeout Pure, Exit, just to name a few.
That whole era thrived on a crazy amount of creativity!
Does Skies of Arcadia count as a stylized game I know it’s not a rhythm game but it does have its own unique style.
Probably top 5 rappers of all time.

It’s so cute to see Oz have that much love for Parappa

I loved this game, and its sequels. Umjammy Lammy was so much fun.
I never expected a reaction to this, it sure brings back memories.
1:58 Bro I remembered playing that level when he had to rap while taking his driving test 😂
I thlammed my Penith in the car door.
Classic meme from 2021
Do you know why we stopped the car? 😂
Man, I haven't thought about parappa the rapper in like 25 years, I was 15 when this shit came out.
Lmaooo this brought back so much nostalgia
Bought this for my kids back in the day. Those tunes watermarked my brain for that period in the 90s
My man was dead serious! "The driving instructor, that's my jam." and "The Onion. CHOP CHOP CHOP!" lmfao
Listening to Oz have so much genuine joy from watching the gameplay made me joyful as well!
I remember playing this game in college. We drank and laughed so hard when someone was playing. So much fun.

Man considering how old this game is it actually aged incredibly well
Loved this game played the demo a bunch as a kid and finally played thru it about a decade ago in hs got stuck on the chicken level for like 7 months. Was great seeing yall randomly bring it up on last Mondays show.
Kick. Punch. It's all in the mind.
One of the underrated classics it felt so good when you hit one of those freestyles and they let you just go off
I ALWAYS LOVED THE KICK PUNCH SONG WITH THE ONION DUDE
Last week i JUST played the driving song from that game. It's stayed with me for years now. "Check and turn the signals to the left"
I've been obsessed with this game since it came out. You guys should show the second one too. They almost made a third one ...
"I need to go just as bad as you. What I had this morning, I don't even wanna say to you."
This brings me back to 6th grade.
When you play perfect, the music was great! When you rappin bad. Ooof. It's bad 😂

Shaggy is also the voice of the frog
The second game is still fun to this day!

The kunfu master was the one i like the most
Game was wild. This and Bust A Groove were underrated on the ps one.
I loved that they had an actual Jamaican play Fleaswallow..that was my fave level.
I still randomly rap “kick, punch”
The 2nd one had just as many bangers as the first
Those songs stay on my playlist.
I literally play this every now and than 😁 “step on the gas”
This game was pure genius! The evolution of all dancing games 😂 OH! BUST - A - GROOVE is also a dope mention
YES! I thought I was the only one who remembers Bust A Groove
*STEP. ON. THE. GAS. NOW. STEP. BRAKE. BREAKS* 😭
This is actually on the PS Store. Classic game! 🤣
The 'Funny Love' ballad towards the end of the game is a classic to me.
This is one of my all-time favorite games. I had my whole family singing all the songs with how much I played.
"P" to the "A" to the "R" to the "A"
Parappa's tha name, I rap urrvyday
Hell yeah, jammin' the whole damn time. Never played the sequel though.
In the rain or in the snow I got I got i Got the funky FLOW
Back in the days when Sony actually was worth a damn. Today, they've let themselves become stagnant.
UM Jamalammmy!! Took me back this
I want a PlayStation just to play this game again! It was everything
The Jet Baby theme song lives rent-free in my head to this day.
Got the funky flow.😂
Um jamma lammy was a beast to
This was the first game I got on PlayStation as a kid and I absolutely hated it at that time.
Drake is scared of Parappa
I remember playing the demo with the kick punch song.
Remember this game, and it was really difficult. I had no idea how this work back then
I never played Parappa but I still have my copy of Um Jammer Lammy. Fun times.
Absolutely love this game on ps1 and it’s become an expensive collectible
I remember hating the cooking one growing up. Also i remember the bob marley frog lol
I still listen to the instrumentals for this and second game(excluding the spin off)
I remember brings me back to my childhood
❤this just made my
DAMN week !
I play the driving lesson level song in the car when im driving a lot. 😂
I remember this game
Yes, I remember that game as a kid!! My brother and I used to always play it all the time! 😂
I LOVE these games! This, the second one, and UmJammer Lammy! Some of the best games from Sony
I only ever PLAYED the demo for this but this game marked the Xmas when I finally got a video game console with the PS1 after asking for one FOR YEARS.
About damn time someone mentioned the GOAT 😂😂
This was so good. My mom had asked me how to play and then took over the game. I had to wait until she beat a level before I could play the level. Lol
i remember playing the video game when it first came out lol
Parappa the Rapper part 2 is on the PS Plus premium right now...bringing it back...Kick punch chop block...
GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT WE WANT AND NEED A REVIEW OF BAD PRESIDENT THERE LITERALLY ARE NO VIDEO REVIEWS ONLINE FOR IT
I loved this game. Good times
I loved this game back in the day! I know there's a version with Shaggy and i think his character was a goat
This was my favorite ps1 game lol I still play it regularly and I still have trouble on the chicken lvl
I LOOOOOOVED THIS GAME
I’m surprised that they didn’t talk about the anime.
The bathroom level was my most favorite
Still have my parappa the rapper 2 ps2
"Step on the gaaas, now step on the brakes..."
I never realized how much PaRappa sounds like Blicky Sosa (if you know, you know).
Kick, punch, chop!
Y'all remember Toejam and Earl?
I want parappa the rapper 3
I loved this game!!!
What about the dance level from Incredible Crisis?
