Can we just appreciate this man. He’s a great boss, has a wonderful personality, makes funny content, is an amazing father, can play the guitar and sing, eats well, has athletic goals, demonstrates intellectualism while remaining humble, and is driven to work hard. Matt has always inspired me and he’s one of those people that I try to implement aspects of his personality in my life as it will only make me a better person. Thank you Matt for everything

Hey mat as a gardener I have a couple tips for Amanda.
1. Try to find a area a good size enough area and have a chicken wire fence around it. With the extra fence make a lid or a top of some sort.
2. Water in small amounts all around every 5-7 days.
3. Keep weeds out the might choke out other vegetation.
4. Keep plants evenly spaced out as to limit competition.
5. Have a good time with it.

Garden-wise I've always just gardened in larger pots or the ground. It might be that the pot isn't big enough to support tomatoes to the size they need to be for them to fully ripen. You could always go for a larger pot or create a raised bad to garden in

Sometimes it is crazy to see how fast time passes... I remember Matt and Amanda's old apartment... The old vlogs... And look at them now, they are so happy, trying to live the best life with what they have and being humble. It's so inspiring to someone that was finishing high school when I started to watch their vlogs and now is finishing college, seeing how far they have gone and using the knowledge they give to start my life in these crazy times. @matthias Alright, here is what my Mom found that suggests what can give you sweeter Strawberries and Tomatoes. :
Tomatoes:
- Healthy plants with lots of leaves catch more sun and produce dense foliage that are capable of converting more light into sugar. Proper care will result in lots of flavor.
- Include plenty of organic matter in the soil as well as potassium and sulfur.
- Avoid giving the plants too much nitrogen, that will only give healthy green foliage, but nothing else.
- Fertilize tomatoes at the onset with a low nitrogen fertilizer, mix of 5-10-10, then side dress with a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer AFTER the tomatoes begin to bloom.
- Keep the plants consistently watered until fruit appears. Then water plants sparingly during fruit maturation. The dry soil will concentrate the flavor compounds.
- Finally, give the tomatoes plenty of sunshine, preferably 8 full hours per day. This will allow the plant to photosynthesize to its greatest potential and produce carbohydrates turned into sugars, acids and other flavor compounds.
- Also note: Tomatoes thrive in the 80 degree Fahrenheit range (or 26 degrees Celsius) during the day and between the 50's and 60's (10 - 15 Celsius) at night. Higher temperatures affect fruit set as well as flavor compounds so be sure to select the correct type of tomato for your climactic region.
Strawberries:
- If your strawberries aren't sweet, look at your current soil conditions. Strawberries perform best in well-drained, fertile and slightly acidic soils. These plants tend to yield more and are sweeter when grown in compost-enriched, sandy soil.
- Try planting strawberries in raised beds, as they ensure better drainage, and are also easier to maintain.
- Be sure to put these beds in a spot where they receive at least 8 hours of sunlight. This is essential for sweet strawberries!
- Make sure the plants have adequate space to grow, like at least 12 inches between plants. If there is overcrowding happening, the plants will produce smaller yields of sour strawberries.
- For some additional care, plant your strawberry beds in the fall rather then the spring to ensure plants have enough time to establish good root systems, and mulch plants with straw to help insulate your growing strawberries.
- If you want to ensure a strawberry crop each year, consider maintaining two separate beds - one for fruit bearing, and the other for the following season's plants.
- Make sure to rotate your raised beds to prevent vulnerability to diseases, which is another cause for sour strawberries.
More helpful info:
- You shouldn't allow strawberry plants to set fruit within the first year. Rather, pick off blooms as they appear to force more energy into producing stronger daughter plants. These are the ones that will yield sweet-tasting strawberries. Finally, keep about four to five daughter plants (which are called "runners") to each mother plant, so you can clip away the rest.
That should be it! My Mother sends you both her love and well wishes in hopes that your garden will prosper and grow great fruits and veggies!

For vegetables and fruits, it's essential to be constantly in the sunlight, absence of sunlight gives them that bitter or not so sweet taste.
I appreciate that you're teaching your daughter how to handle those kind of situations, she is your daughter, but she's a fellow female. I'm glad to see she has such an amazing dad.

I enjoyed being able to see Amanda, Luna, and Atticus. It made my heart happy. I can never get enough of seeing moments in young children's lives - to make that make more sense, I work in childcare.

Hey Mathias! Here's a gardening tip - Transplant your tomatoes into the ground, it will allow the roots to grow more. The plant will get bigger so you'll have more tomatoes growing, and they might get sweeter too. Love that your posting more videos!!

Having the plants on the cement patio can actually boost the alkaline levels of the soil when it gets wet, that could be making the lil maters bitter. If you plant your next ones further away from the patio in the yard I am willing to bet they will taste a little better. It could also come down to the media being used along with anything in the water or plant food you might be feeding them. They would also get much larger if they weren't in those little pots, they might be pot bound by now. (Finishing first degree in Horticulture) - Looked like a fun day!
