I am very skeptical when it comes to Crimson Desert, it's looks good, but something back in my head tells me it's not really that deep. Mainly because I do have some experience with Pearl Abyss, and their MMO game Black Desert, where they have a habit of creating a foundation of a really amazing system, but never bothering to develop it further, leaving just some shallow puddles of something much deeper.
Maybe it's just me, but another thing that bothers me about it is that the dialogue continues DURING the boss battles. I can listen, or I can fight, but I can't give the attention I'd like to for either one if they're going on at the same time. Multitasking-r-not-us.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is by far my most anticipated for 2025, feels like that game could be a major win for turn based fans! But my first anticipated game of the year will be Ender Magnolia going 1.0 at the end of January! Great list of games, we’ve got a lot to look forward to
I'm finally playing the KCD1 and good lord, it is incredible. The progression from lowly peasant who can't even win a fistfight, to a knightly killing machine has been amazingly satisfying.
@@Skegfromcraigslist Agreed, it looks like its getting a fair amount of hype. The promise of a more polished sequel has got a lot of people excited (me included!)
I completely feel the same about the crimson desert. It's so freakin huge, I'm afraid it'll collapse on It's own weight. Crashes, bugs...emptiness. I would love to be wrong af... but usually that's what happening recently.
it's nice that you're sharing list of games that you waiting for. the games i will play in the future: assassins creed: shadows; avowed, borderlands 4, dying light: the beast, ghost of yotei, gta 6, the wolf among us 2 and i know that some of them might get pushed back but i will play them eventually
My biggest is probably Subnautica 2. My sister and I don't have a lot of overlap in games we like with Subnautica being one of the few. Being able to actually play together will be great.
My most anticipated games are Citizen Sleeper 2 and The Alters. I played demos for both during Steam Next Fest and loved both. Citizen Sleeper 2 was particularly heart-tugging to me because CS1 is one of my favorite games ever.
I really hope The Alters is good. It's such an interesting and novel idea and visually it looks pretty great too. I want to like Avowed (because I liked Pillars 1 and 2), but I don't know if I can get past the whole 1st person thing. I really only like playing first person games only if they're walking sims or similar combatless adventure/detective type games.
I’m so unbelievably excited for monster hunter wilds. I will most likely be playing that game for most of the next year. I know you probably won’t play it, but it would be awesome if you did first impressions of it. But don’t even attempt 100% on it. Those games can take years to truly 100%.
Very much looking forward to Expedition 33. Metorid Prime 4 is also supposed to come out next year, but we haven't heard much about that game in a while.
The Alters is giving me some vibes of “The Prestige”, though I guess more conceptually than anything concrete. Will be interesting if they tackle the morality of murdering your own clones.
My list: 1. KCD2. Most likely to be unique and amazing 2. Elden ring: Nightrein. I'm not usually into multiplayer, but a rogue like Elden ring/Dark souls remix sounds like a drram come true 3. Avowed. For the setting. So far the quality seems 8/10 based on previews, but I want to trust Obsidian.
What's more interesting about the Bloodlines 2 game's launch is what will happen with White Wolf after its presumably lackluster sales (fans of the 1st probably gave up on it after all the development drama and it's still pretty niche for the others) : Paradox is not doing well lately and they're not doing much with it, but who else could they sell it to ?
I'm most looking forward to the suikoden remaster next year. I've been putting off replaying them since the announcement years ago. They are some of my favourite rpg's from my youth besides shining force 2
My list would be: 1: Expedition 33 - a bit hesitant on how this will turn out, but looked right up my alley. 2: Slay the Spire 2 - I always need another hundreds of hours deckbuilder in my life 3: Civ 7 - I've never gotten too into civ but have recently fallen in love with the genre, so hoping for big things. 4: Darkest Dungeon 2: Kingdoms - If they do this right it will easily be my most played game of 2025. Crimson Desert and Alters will be my "could either be my game of the year or I never pick them up" games, depending on initial impressions/reviews.
My most anticipated games begin & end with *Avowed & Expedition 33.* Aside from that, I'm excited for Switch 2 & whatever games inevitably get both announced & revealed for 2025.
Here's to another great 2025 for ya! I'm a bit behind with keeping up-to-date on games coming out in 2025, so I don't really have any in particular that I'm excited about, but that's not to say that there won't be awesome games for sure
I wonder if you would like Cairn? It's got some soulslike and survival elements but is a game about climbing. I played the demo on steam and now I am obsessed, waiting for a release date.
Some of mine...though a lot of them are existing early access games that I'm waiting for 1.0 releases. - Trails through Daybreak 2 in Feb so it can be thoroughly drowned out by mass appeal titles...yes I'm bitter I want this franchise to take off like Yakuza has. - Tempest Rising...its basically going for modern day Command and Conquor. I'd love for that to succeed. - Slay the Spire 2 - Hollow Knight Silksong (lets pretend it could happen) - Hades 2 (might be EA into 2026 so we'll see) - Windblown - Undermine 2 - Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
I'm surprised Expedition 33: Clair Obscur is not on the list. And basing on their trailers I'd also mention - on my list - The First Berskerker: Khazan, Gothic Remake, DooM: The Dark Ages. I will probably check Assassin's Creed: Shadows too. IDK for when exaclty are planned the full versions, but I'll also mention GreedFall II and New Arc Line. Ghost of Yotei comes out next year too supposedly, but since I play on PC it doesn't really matter for me yet. I'm pretty sure I'll check PC version of Spider-Man 2 tho. I'm also playing narrative/adventure games, so I'll def check Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and Old Skies. TBH I don't really know yet what's coming out in this genre, and I still have a bunch of older games from GOG. And I still have some of this yrs game's to check. I am currently playing PC version of God of War Ragnarok, but specifically for x-mas I want to play Indika. I will also look closer at Indiana Jones and Stalker 2, but I'll wait for all DLCs+sale combo. And Life is Strange: Double Exposure is another one I will 100% try, but I still have to play Life is Strange 2 and True Colors first.
So far, Mine is probably Tales of Graces F YS Memoire : The Oath in Felghana Crimson Desert Avowed South of Midnight Metal Gear Solid Delta : Snake Eater Trails through Daybreak 2
Menace for me! Overhype studios made Battle Brothers, one of my favorite turn based tactics games. Looking forward to seeing what they do with a sci fi setting!
im jrpg guy, needless to say next year will be quite dry compared to this year, lol so: 1. Trails in the Sky remake 2. Clair Obscure 3. Suikoden Remastered 4. Ghost of Yotei 5. Lunar Remastered if Kai no Kiseki english released in 2025, this'll straight up my most anticipated game (already played Daybreak 2 eng patch)
Thanks for the video. One of mine is "Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii," but it's more out of curiosity than interest. That AAA would try something this bizarre... I got to see it. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
Solid list sir! Can't say I agree with most myself, but that's the beauty of varied opinions. I never cared for any of the PoE games myself, nor did I enjoy KCD. Crimson Desert just...I don't know that I trust anything about it until it is out. Black Desert is just so awful and packed full of so much nonsense. The Alters looks awesome though. Really 2025 is just Monster Hunter Wilds for myself. I'm sure there are other games, but Monster Hunter is...well it's Monster Hunter.
Can't believe we are getting 2 full-fledged rpgs from Obsidian in 2025. Those are my pics for most anticipated. Avowed and Outer Worlds 2. I will say though, Obsidian name dropping some of the best RPGs of all-time in their Outer Worlds 2 trailer was something else. I hope Outer Worlds 2 can live up to any of those games. Still hoping Spiders gets their act together on Greedfall 2.
The game I'm most exited for is Aethermancer. It's not a game you'll likely to play. But the studio's previous game (monster sanctuary) was my absolute favourite. And has had put so much love and dedication behind it. So I will definitely look at the soon to be released demo and have high expectations.
I got to agree two of my most anticipated games are also a vowed in crimson desert but I am fairly certain that there's going to be something attached to crimson desert it looks too good to be true
My most anticipated game ist the remake of Gothic. The original was the first action rpg, that I've played and made me fall in love with the genre. A lot of newer games can't compete with its world building. I think you should put it on your list of the games which you want to play. Otherwise you mentioned every game, that ist on my list for next year.
I haven't had much time to watch your videos in some time, but I was definitely interested in this one and hearing what you are looking forward to in 2025! Keep it up!
I'm just waiting for Stalker 2 to get fixes and for me to upgrade my GPU so I can play the new Indiana Jones game. Avvowed looks cool and so does Outer Worlds 2.
2025 will be a wild year, it's overwhelming to the point I hope most of them will be delayed so I have time to play them all Expedition 33 (my most anticipated game of the year) GTA6 Death Stranding 2 Ghost of Yotei Monster Hunter Wilds Crimson Desert VTMB 2 Doom Dark Ages Avowed Outer Worlds 2 KCD2 Elden Ring Nightreign Yakuza pirates Civ VII
Nightreign looks cool. New BG3 classes update. Bloodlines 2. Solasta 2 Early Access. I think that's about it. I am so behind on games right now, I might just be playing catch up for a while.
I'm really looking forward to Exodus which I think will be out next year. Are you going to do a vid on the gameplay trailer that drops tomorrow? Also a bunch of lore out already, as well as a whole novel by Peter Hamilton 👍
I really want to play Rogue Trader but am waiting for the next DLC before I start, so in some ways that's my most anticipated of 2025! However new games wise, I think Exodus (if it releases in 25), Crimson Desert; Expedition 33, Bloodlines 2, and Avowed
I was always interested in Avowed but was also a bit apprehensive. The people who've played the last review version have all come out saying its very good from what they've played. If its sticks the rest it could be a very good time. Expedition 33 also has me excited. Citizen Sleeper 2 is the one im most looking forward to though I think.
My list is similar, but with a few more games, and a different order. FF VII Rebirth (coming for PC in 2025, so to me it counts as a 2025 game), Monster Hunter Wilds, and Dynasty Warriors: Origins come to mind (the latter has a pretty good demo in case you want to check it out). I'm also curious about the recently revealed Dispatch, and the next game by Arcen Games, called Heart of the Machine.
I am cautiously optimistic for Avowed as well, though I have concerns about the technical performance. I acknowledge how my RX 6800 has not been top of the line in awhile, but I am afraid it will be taking more steps in the "graphical fidelity" range, even if that is well into its diminishing returns phase and it will end up being unplayable for me for the wrong reasons.
im yearning for avowed that it does well looking back at Outer Worlds how well it was for the 1060 at the time. now with the visual style it offers, fingers cross w/ my 6750XT
I like RPGs and I'm getting more than a fair share hopefully. Avowed Fable Outer Worlds 2 KCD 2 Bloodlines 2 Exodus AC Shadows etc Could be the a promising year
I would say Ys: Oath in Fel, but that's a rerelease of a game I never got to play due to being on a system I don't own, so that excitement is tempered by it likely going to be a backstep from what I'm used to from the franchise. That said, it IS a good gameplay system, as it was used in Ys: Origins, and that game, despite some hiccups due to taking place entirely in a single dungeon, was still awesome at points. The one I'm really looking forward to is The Outer Worlds 2. I know the first one got a bad rap, though I feel that was because people were expecting it to be Triple A thanks to the marketing, and it was only a AA production in terms of scope, scale, and budget. Still great, but less reactive than you'd probably like. Still, it was a good system, nice design, and while I do WISH there'd been a pro-board party member just to make that option appealing in some way, I still liked seeing them bounce off each other in incidental dialogue. Heck, I still say Vicar Max is my favorite party member from this kind of RPG, if only because he's sarcastic, but not in an annoying way, and IS trying to be a good person, even if it doesn't always work.
My most anticipated currently are Outer Worlds 2, Death Stranding 2 and Atomfall. I'm a little curious about Crimson Desert, but to me it just looks like a Korean version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, so we'll see if it turns out to be any good. I had never heard of The Alters, but it looks a lot like Death Stranding so I will definitely keep an eye on it!
i just hope avowed will allow modding or the like, cause i would love to see either a mod or DLC with the rest of the playable ancestrys, i wanna be an orlan god dangit
Excited for a lot. Fable tops the list. Wouldnt be shocked if you see it in the January Developer_Direct they do each year. They use it to highlight stuff coming out in the upcoming year. If it isnt there, it will probably get an extended "Fable Direct" after the summer showcase in June, then be slated for a November/December release. That follows what Xbox has traditionally done the last few years.
My long odds hope is with Exodus - no real gameplay yet, but the concept and the professionalism of what they have shown so far... it could be a banger. Or crash and burn, who knows 🙂
Me: Triple A: Mafia 4, Indie: Eriksholm The Stolen Dream, CO-OP: Hunger (Steam), Real Time With Pause: Band of Crusaders, Building game: Chinese Frontiers, ARPG: Dragonkin The Banished, and to finish an RTS : Tempest Rising.
My 5 most anticipated PC games of 2025 (hopefully) are, in order: KCD2, Falling Frontier, Shadow of the Road, Bloodlines 2, and Dune Awakening. I'll most likely be getting Avowed; but only on sale though... And as someone who has been taking a break from Black Desert for almost a year now (and probably for another one at least) because of burnout; Crimson Desert has very little appeal to me.
honestly on your point with bloodlines 2 as someone who plays the tabletop quite regularly I feel a lot of the time with the games that aren't visual/interactive novels comes in trying to bridge/synergize the gap between the Social/Political Intrigue roleplay of VtM with its combat, fuck I feel even Bloodlines 1 has that issue. Honestly half-baked gameplay is an issue basically every world of darkness video game has encountered whether its like Werewolf the Apocalypse Earthblood, or Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines. Who knows, maybe the World of Darkness MMO white wolf tried making while under CCP game's ownership could've been absolutely amazing and fixed all of these issues but sadly that is a story we will probably never see the actual end of. (I would love for something like a Hunter the Reckoning tactical shooter or whatever though)
Only thing about crimson desert is Im spoiled from bdo of being able to play different classes with a playstyle I like more than warrior. I wish there was different options for character class you can choose to play. (Love magic users)
As far as big releases go im looking forward to: Avowed Exodus(if it releases next year which it hopefully should be) Outer Worlds 2 Mafia The Old Country GTA 6( if it dont get delayed lmao) Theres also some rereleases and remasters im looking forward to as well Freedom Wars Suikoden 1&2 collection Lunar Collection Xenoblade Chronicles X definitive edition Tales of Graces F remastered And thats pretty much it for me, anything else its gonna be wait and see lol
KCD2, Dune Awakening, and Shadow of the Road, if that makes it. Crimson Desert is mildly interesting. But an action-adventure has to be a home run to win me. Ghost of Tsushima was the last one to do that.
Sorry if you have already answered this question before but I have to wonder. With the way you review your games, do you still have time to enjoy them if you get what I mean? Or is it a blitz every time?
Having just seen the trailer for the outer worlds 2 today I'm surprised by how much interest it actually kindled given the first one did absolutely nothing for me.
Yeah, whats really gonna carry that game is the story. If its not popping its not gonna hit
Yea me 2
Maybe it's just me, but another thing that bothers me about it is that the dialogue continues DURING the boss battles. I can listen, or I can fight, but I can't give the attention I'd like to for either one if they're going on at the same time. Multitasking-r-not-us.
notably how optimize its going to be if they keep adding up content and gimmicks*
And those particle effects are just too much
Expedition 33 for me, can't wait!
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is by far my most anticipated for 2025, feels like that game could be a major win for turn based fans!
But my first anticipated game of the year will be Ender Magnolia going 1.0 at the end of January!
Great list of games, we’ve got a lot to look forward to
Kingdom Come Deliveramce II. I. can't. wait.
I can already see the clips with like a prayer rendition playing on UA-cam 🤣
@sp1ashy345 Jesus Christ be praised.

The Gothic remake could be relase in 2025. I hope it's good
KCD2: Turn my computer into the Chernobyl Reactor: part 2
I think KCD2 will be an absolute dark horse. Or it'll remain a cult treat. Whichever it is, I'll be right there. KCD1 shot to my favourite game ever.
I think it's going to be quite a big release and get a lot of players. It's receiving a good bit of press and hype
@@Skegfromcraigslist Agreed, it looks like its getting a fair amount of hype. The promise of a more polished sequel has got a lot of people excited (me included!)

It makes me think more of "Moon" a small sci-fi movie with Sam Rockwell. Unfortunately no one knows about it since it's not an action and CGI fest.
CRIMSON DESERT finally has a steam page
Games I think will do well though they are different genres. Kaiserpunk. Broken Arrow and Kingmakers.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was my game the year. What a fun game.
It was a fine game, but a big letdown comparing to Dragon's Dogma 1, which was truly great. This is the reason why many people are disappointed.

Elden Ring Nightreign
Yakuza pirates
Civ VII
Nightreign looks cool. New BG3 classes update. Bloodlines 2. Solasta 2 Early Access. I think that's about it. I am so behind on games right now, I might just be playing catch up for a while.
I'm really looking forward to Exodus which I think will be out next year. Are you going to do a vid on the gameplay trailer that drops tomorrow? Also a bunch of lore out already, as well as a whole novel by Peter Hamilton 👍
VERY much looking forward to Outer Worlds 2. The trailer video was hilarious.
I'm doubtful Outer Worlds 2 is actually coming out next year, but if it is I think it may be what I'm most looking forward to.
I really want to play Rogue Trader but am waiting for the next DLC before I start, so in some ways that's my most anticipated of 2025!
However new games wise, I think Exodus (if it releases in 25), Crimson Desert; Expedition 33, Bloodlines 2, and Avowed
I've got Outer Worlds 2 and Atomfall on my list in addition! The Alters may be a sleeper hit if they land the narrative - it is a creative game.
IMO the ending of KCD made sense, as KCD2 is going to pick right where KCD ended.
Exodus
Claire Obscure - Expedition 33
Solasta 2 (early access)
POE2 (full release)
New Arc Line (full release)
The performance is what you’re concerned about? 😂
Wilds, avowed, soulframe, and likely Expedition 33
I like RPGs and I'm getting more than a fair share hopefully.
Avowed
Fable
Outer Worlds 2
KCD 2
Bloodlines 2
Exodus
AC Shadows
etc
Could be the a promising year
I would say Ys: Oath in Fel, but that's a rerelease of a game I never got to play due to being on a system I don't own, so that excitement is tempered by it likely going to be a backstep from what I'm used to from the franchise.
The Outer Worlds 2
Civilization 7
Build 42 of Project Zomboid (assuming it misses the next few weeks)
Dragon Quest 12 (wishful thinking?)
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's looking pretty good too.
Monster Hunter WIlds, KCD2, Doom the Dark Ages, Mafia the old country and the first berserker khazan are my most anticipated 2025 games.
I want to know the behind the scenes development story for VTM Bloodlines 2. Like, why was it so cursed? How did it change over time?
Me: Triple A: Mafia 4, Indie: Eriksholm The Stolen Dream, CO-OP: Hunger (Steam), Real Time With Pause: Band of Crusaders, Building game: Chinese Frontiers, ARPG: Dragonkin The Banished, and to finish an RTS : Tempest Rising.
KCD2/avowed for sure. Titan quest 2 is also high up my list. Keeping an eye on Dune Awakening as well.
My 5 most anticipated PC games of 2025 (hopefully) are, in order: KCD2, Falling Frontier, Shadow of the Road, Bloodlines 2, and Dune Awakening.
I'll most likely be getting Avowed; but only on sale though... And as someone who has been taking a break from Black Desert for almost a year now (and probably for another one at least) because of burnout; Crimson Desert has very little appeal to me.
honestly on your point with bloodlines 2
as someone who plays the tabletop quite regularly I feel a lot of the time with the games that aren't visual/interactive novels comes in trying to bridge/synergize the gap between the Social/Political Intrigue roleplay of VtM with its combat, fuck I feel even Bloodlines 1 has that issue.
Crimson Desert is going to be an MMO, so I don’t get my hopes up too much.
As far as big releases go im looking forward to:
Avowed
Exodus(if it releases next year which it hopefully should be)
Outer Worlds 2
Mafia The Old Country
GTA 6( if it dont get delayed lmao)
Theres also some rereleases and remasters im looking forward to as well
Freedom Wars
Suikoden 1&2 collection
Lunar Collection
Xenoblade Chronicles X definitive edition
Tales of Graces F remastered
And thats pretty much it for me, anything else its gonna be wait and see lol
I'm really excited for The First Berserker Khazan.... and monster hunter wilds
the alters has a demo
KCD2, Dune Awakening, and Shadow of the Road, if that makes it. Crimson Desert is mildly interesting. But an action-adventure has to be a home run to win me. Ghost of Tsushima was the last one to do that.
Silk Song its coming out in 2050 can't wait
Mine would be Avowed and The Outer worlds 2 I haven’t really seen anything else that I really want to play
Mandragora looks good, Brian Mitsoda from VTMB wrote it
Sorry if you have already answered this question before but I have to wonder. With the way you review your games, do you still have time to enjoy them if you get what I mean? Or is it a blitz every time?
Having just seen the trailer for the outer worlds 2 today I'm surprised by how much interest it actually kindled given the first one did absolutely nothing for me.
I know it’s not in your wheelhouse per say but I’d love to see your coverage of GTA 6. It’s a generational release
what i yearn for based on the following games: execution, success, optimization, labor of love, and LETHIMCOOK
