In the frame rate test window it looks like it might be showing 40fps, but in the main screen it still looks like 30fps. Possibly your capture card didn't pick it up.
Actually it does since Xbox Series VRR range is 40-120Hz (compared to 48-120Hz on PS5), but in this case it's using his display's variable refresh rate to output 40fps.
Can someone explain like I'm 5 why you can't play it at 40fps on a 60hz monitor?! I always thought the hz was to do with the fps! Another great video by the way
Hertz is the refresh rate (measured per second) and frame rate is what is actually being shown on screen. All current-gen consoles have variable refresh rate (VRR) and some displays also have their own VRR that work with the console to achieve a more consistent frame rate, or a higher frame rate (which is what's happening here). In this case, you need a 120Hz display that supports VRR to get 40fps. A 60Hz display doesn't have the ability to get 40fps with VRR because of the time it takes the screen to refresh. It's complicated and has a lot to do with maths and numbers but that's the basic gist of it.
60 doesn’t divide by 40 nicely, I.e. it’s not a whole number (60/40 = 1.5) This is why 60hz screens are ok with 30fps (60/30=2) Whereas 120 does divide by 40 nicely,I.e. it is a whole number (120/40 = 3) Therefore 30, 40, 60 play nicely with a 120hz screen.
40 fps good for PS5.Because of bad VRR isupport on PS5.On XBOX no need to lock 40fps.Unlocked 40-45 would be better. But still 40 much better that 30. And one more thing. Unlocked 45Fps is bad on 60hz TV( statters) But if u pkay 45 fps on 120hz( no VRR) it have statters too, but u cant really see them
A Plague Tale : Requiem also had a 40fps update on Series S a while back.
Should title it 40fps mode
Been waiting for this thx
let's hope they do the same for Starfield
never though they'd squeeze a higher frame rate on this for the S.
Nifty feature they’ve added for Series S users. Pretty decent middle ground if I do say so myself.
I think RE7 also got an update recently... not sure... waiting for the review
I’ve had a lot of fun with this game.

It looks like it indeed but UA-cam doesn't support 120hz that's why it looked like that probably 😊
@@TheXboxTester yeah, it's a strange one! I'm guessing either a capture card issue or a UA-cam issue.
My capture card records in 120hz even 240hz is possible with mine. So it must be a UA-cam thing.
@@TheXboxTester yeah most likely. If the raw video shows 40fps then it's definitely a UA-cam issue.
Jedi Survivor series s Test please
Already did that one couple of months ago
Looks gorgeous and 40 fps way better than 30 fps, that all on 250$ with 10 gb vram insane
Mauriiiiiiiice thank u
Hey maurice, may i suggest you test out fnaf sb ruin dlc? I just came out yesterday...thanks🥰
Why i'm stuck with the v.1.01 ??
Underrated game sadly enough
Underrated? How?
looks nice but its impossible for us to experience a proper 40FPS on a 60fps video.
Correct I did upload it in 120hz but sadly UA-cam doesn't support this 😢
VRR doesn’t work on 40fps. But 40fps is amazing. On PS5 there are more games that support it and it’s so much better than 30fps.

@@cun7us ah, k! Good to know!
More games should implement this. 40 fps is a game changer. Massive difference versus 30 fps

Actually it would work even without vrr

Reminds me of far cry primal
Do you actually need a 120hz screen?
No, but if you want this 40fps than yes.

The Series S is easily the most impressive console this gen.
where SX?
Give it an hour or so
Zit ik gvd weer met een 65" 4K met 60hz 🥵
Koop dan een PC, jochie.
☺️💚

40hx ftw
series S Rock!!!
It IS fsr 3 lol
What’s the point of this ? 40fps mode on series S avatar ?, a Stable 30fps is better than 40fps all over the place
It's not all over the place, his test clearly shows that 40fps is stable. Any dips are mitigated by VRR.
@@cun7us VRR? Viginal Rape Replacement?
Hogwarts Legacy same 😅
This is awful far cry with avatar skin at 40 fps Ubisoft so lazy
First
Far cry primal remake
You think this game will eventually hit gamepass ?
No idea the game is not that old and is on ubisoft+ so I don't think anytime soon. Maybe in a few years from now.
