- The Cooper Custom has returned! Cooper's custom spec'd Alamo Music Exclusive Martin OM has been a popular and often requested guitar. The combination of Adirondack top and Adirondack "Golden Era" Hand-Scalloped Bracing with the rosewood back and sides and slotted headstock create a instantly recognizable look and sound that is unique. Call me crazy, but I probably prefer the regular OM. The custom one is a bit too bright for my taste. It looks phenomenal though

Great video. I’m looking at pulling the trigger on an OM28 next to pair with my Taylor 317. Looking specifically for a Sitka/rosewood acoustic and originally wanted a OOO-18 but I prefer the longer scale length.
Nice that these Alamo Specials are back, but I think I like the deep body better. And I like the OM I got from Cooper (a NAMM grab with Koa back & VTS top).

Hi guys - could you please (or did you already) do a comparison of the Cooper Custom vs an OM-28 Modern Deluxe? Thanks for all of the great content and hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
It's known that a slotted headstock has an increased angle by as much as 1 to 1-1/2 to 2 degrees. This increase of the string angle off the nut may make for a more punchier sound response. The custom seems brighter to me. Slotted headstocks sure look cool but are a pain in the neck to re-string .
The Adi top should also more punch and volume over sitka. But the aged (VTS) sitka on the modern deluxe OM is really nice and the modern deluxe has aged Adi bracing just fyi. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that slotted headstock.

A great video as always guys! My question isn't so much, "Is the Cooper OM better?", but, given the price hike, "Is it twice the guitar that the OM28 is?".
I would like to see a comparison of the authentic om28 with coopers om. They seem super similar besides the slotted headstock on coopers. I'm doing research to pull the trigger on my forever guitar and atm the authentic 000 series is in the lead

What if I just wanted a 000-18 with just one difference from a standard one, namely a version in a high gloss black finish, top, back and sides, neck, everything black. Would Martin do such a thing and how much more would it cost?
Just curious. It would be the guitar of my dreams, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to afford it. But maybe there are other people here who’d want a similar thing. I always wanted to know. ❤
Does anyone know if the OM-28 currently has a stained or a natural ebony fingerboard?
I sggest you guys look outside of Texas and the uS of A. Maton guitars are the choice of Tommy Emmanuel - and he should know-.They're made in Melbourne, Australia. They are great . I have a Taylor and wish I'd bought a Maton. Check them out.

IMHO the OM-28 is the best guitar that Martin makes- hands down.

I thought cooper does not like rosewood?
Now that he has one, he decided that he also likes mahogany...maybe Gibson guitars after that.

Why do you guys keep promoting your podcasts? You've done ONE since last May and THREE in the past 13 MONTHS! We've enjoyed them but if you don't have the time just shut them down and move on.
