Could you post a link to the exact gear knob you've bought, I can't find it on eBay or anywhere else for that matter. Can't find the bloke on the Forum, but would rather buy elsewhere to be honest. Any help appreciated, please. Great videos BTW, really helpful. Keep up the fantastic work!!
He doesn't have a website but if you search for 'Custom-T5-Bitz' on Facebook the seller now has a Facebook page. I can personally vouch for the seller and his product, it's excellent and the seller is well respected in the various T5 facebook forums. Hope that helps!

VMT have you kept a tab on how much you've spent?i gave myself a shock when I totted up everything😳..for me it's all worth it gives me a lot of enjoyment mincin about in my man van..it is an expensive and draining sideline tho and that's without the trips to the garage..well done on the 500plus you deserve it always an entertaining watch even if it's not something on the hit list...🙌👏
Looks the part but to me the gaitor is just going to come loose all the time if it's relying on the clamping tension from the fitting bolts of the ring just from general movement especially if it's a daily used van poss not so bad if not doing as many miles in one.
+HaveAgo Harry If it works loose then its easy enough to remove the ring and either glue or pin the gaiter to the plastic ring. Having fitted it I'm pretty confident that wont be needed as the two rings have clamped really tight and the gaiter isn't under any tension when in any of the gears.
Can you tell me did you just cut the 2 plastic bits on the left hand side,or do u have to cut the plastic all the way round. I did not getting a fitting guide and don’t want to cut to much if not needed thanks
Did mine a while ago. Used the TT rubber gator as well, as I think it looks better. It's not finished yet as i want to add the TT alloy gear stick trumpet and i have a led gear knob to fit when time permits www.my-tdi.co.uk/finishing-touches/audi-tt-gear-surround-into-t5/
Nice work. Just getting into the T5 scene. I want to come up with a simpler way of fitting the gaiter rings. Love the rubber gaiter by the way. I make polished aluminium parts for classic beetles but moving into transporter parts. If your interested, check out my Facebook page, AluminiumArtwork. Cheers.

The original hole can be seen on the top of the new metal ring??
Hey dude, I’ve got a TT gear surround but I don’t have the lower plastic ring. Do you know were I could get one? Cheers
Vee Dub Customs may be able to help. They’re on Facebook and also have a website.
