thanks for everyones support with this! i have now sent it to DJI for repair because its still under warranty with them luckily. ill make an update video when i get the drone back and let you all know how it all went :). just wish cex was more helpful with how to fix this issue instead of just being like sorry we cant repair or refund you, just feel like they are being like screw you because its not working and we dont want anything to do with it! so you should get it fixed elsewhere :/
Absolutely shocking You've had to go through then when you were given a 24 month warranty with it when it was sold to you Glad you're getting if fixed now tho mate and great customer service from DJI
You need to go back to CEX and demand a repair service. I’d understand if CEX refused the drone as an unwanted item. I say this because you’d be returning the item in worse condition from when you purchased it. However, you’re returning the drone because of the fault it has developed during the time you’ve had it (24 month warranty covers you for this). At the very least, CEX should be sending the item away for repair. If the drone comes back unrepairable, then a refund / replacement should be issued.
Policy says if it develops a fault you can return for a repair replacement or refund. A mark on the casing is not sufficient reason to refuse you. Speak to a manager and if they still refuse get advise from trading standards
I'd also suggest tagging them on as many social media plaforms as you can. It seems creating bad publicity is the best way to get anything done these days.
I'm going to have to agree with others here... you need to go back and DEMAND a refund. It'll be unpleasant but they're fucking you over and I'm sure if you kick off you'll get good results. Good luck!
I'd go back and ask for a repair or something, seems weird they didn't refund over a small mark tbf, but I guess it depends on the store. I had a CV1 VR headset for around 6 months and the headphones went on it, took it into CEX and they didn't have any replacements so refunded me £200 the same day.
I had the same issue with the iPad but I bought it from cash generator and I said it was stocking and I checked it and everything else and there send nothing wrong with it I got it sorted and sold it but it just show you that all the same 😱
Take it from someone with 25 years retail management experience you ARE covered under the sales of goods act if the item is faulty. They have to prove the item wasn’t faulty when they sold it to you within the first six months of purchase. Take it further legally if you have to they have to offer a repair or refund minimum.
If you ordered it online you are legally entitled to a refund even if there’s nothing wrong with it. They do say if you damage the item it voids the warranty though but that should only be if it’s chipped / cracked etc In Ireland when you order from CeX you can keep the item for 12 days, completely the whole game and then bring it back and get all your money back with no questions asked , I assume it should be the same in England unless the law for online buying is different in the UK
I just got an AMD processor a day ago from CEX and it turned out to be fake. They took it for a "warranty test" and I wonder how it's going to go. It was £200 but still hurts. I thought buying for CEX is safe and they check things before they buy it and also that they have some people that actually know stuff and can spot a fake.
Did the lens have a scratch when you got it? If they said it was done after and they have photo proof they will assume its damage caused by you sadly 😞
@@GameboysAreAwesome 😪 damn then hopefully they sort it mate. If not that's shocking. Ask them for photo proof of the mark before. If they don't have any then they can't refuse anything. Hope you sort it soon 🙏
Cwx do t promise refunds they promise a warranty that means they need to fix it go back to them and ask for it to be repaired under the warranty dont go down the refund route you won't get anywhere with that the warranty promises to fix or replace print of the terms and go I with it... Good luck bro
What an absolute fucking shit show cex is. That's shocking how can you give 24 months warranty and expect someone to not use the item I'd take to higher up trading standards..
Similar issue with me noticed a fault after a week and because its been longer than 48 hours theres nothing they can do all i could do is resell at a £20 loss!
It's deffo not about the mark for them, they know the unit is faulty, whether they fix it or not that unit will probably always have issues and they just don't want the loss.
CEX warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on. They charge higher prices to accomodate the warranty. They only replace to the value of not what the value you originally paid for your broken item but what the item is worth at the time it breaks...and usually with store credit. It's a second hand store and they artificially inflate prices based on demand to keep the value of tempting people to trade in their stuff. They are always on the make no matter what like scalpers or ticket touts, and dodgy business practices. Buying second hand is always a risk. Caveat emptor applies. I've even had a case where they boxed me an item out of sight and upon arriving home it was the wrong item i'd asked for in the shop, upon checking the stock with store checker the original item I wanted in the first place had gone. No point returning for store credit so had to keep it.
Had same thing with a laptop I bought, I upgraded the memory in it following manufactures guide, while it was open I was going to upgrade and put second hard drive in it but the caddy was missing so I asked if they had the caddy for it then they said I invalidated warranty because I opened it, I was even asking for a refund or repair, I got the caddy from eBay and laptop is perfect, but warranty is not worth the paper it’s wrote on, I would never use from cex again either.
It’s probably better to make the vid again mate with a clear head and emotion free but I understand the frustration. Normally CEX take photos of the goods before they send them out, so they should be able to back up their stand. Though it does sound like a cop out from them. Did you pay on card at all, otherwise it might be worth looking into a chargeback with your bank.
I sold a Xbox one to them today my store was very nice it had a 3rd party wired controller the wire was faulty but reduced one pound for that so my experience was great although never done this
If they refuse, put them on blast. Call trading standards. Go to the local rag and give them bad publicity. Fight. They always fob you off these days. Is it a franchise store, or a corporate store? Franchise ones are worse.
I hope this gets sorted for you Kieran in some way. I think they are disgusting, not even offering some kind of help with this. Don't give up though mate.
I purchased a Synology NAS from them came up after a few days of use that it had drive faults, took it back they gave me a full refund and went in there the next day they had the same NAS back on the shelf for sale again.....😡 BTW I Like and Shared on Twitter.
Remove video mate, take it to a different CEX and Don't tell them you've calibrated it or done any maintenance on your own back. You always get the odd CEX employee who is a proper jobsworth.
And I thought I was scammed when I sold a GameCube for £30 instead of £70 because of a tiny scratch, but refusing a £800 refund is criminal, i like cex, but their ever changing policies bother me.
Cex wouldn’t even be able to repair this, there repair centres are crap. They can barely fix a broken hdmi port on a PS4 so this will be well out of there league.
That is terrible big company like that hop you gat Sort it out it’s terrible keep on complaining and sending emails and hope you get it sorted out soon and thank you for sharing this video put 24 months on stuff on nearby and if that happens when you take it back if something is wrong that’s terrible take care keep safe all the family😱😱😱😱
They sell scratches discs happily and when you want to trade them back they accuse you of scratching them and say no. Disgusting sometimes and dishonest.
Cex don’t sell things brand new? Only second hand. If you saved up for months you should of gone to a shop and got it brand new, only yourself to blame
Cex gonna say where did the mark come from even tho it's small it's being knocked please people realise they are there to make money if they can get away with anything they will iv just had same thing with a insurance company there all the same
Thats really bad and I would be very annoyed with this, raise this with cex customer services and demand a refund or repair and if they don't play ball then raise it with citizens advice or trading standards. Or you could try DJI and see if they will fix it as if its only about 6 months old and may still be under the manufacturers warranty.
Hey Kieran, I understand the difficulties you are facing with it. I have a DJI mini 3 without the controller. I know it’s not the same but if you wanted to sell the controller separate. I would pay 150 cash via PayPal goods and services to you. Like the others have said try CEX again first.
Hi man, I used to work for Cex, the store in Grantham should have refunded you & it should have been sent back to the original store, if they don’t take it back offer to sell it back to them, if they turn you down tell them to refund it then, stand your ground mate, from working in the company I know they roll over eventually, go to social media, give them stores bad feedback, they hate all that stuff, keep onto customer service, in the end they’ll crumble.
Adding on, tell them that you haven’t used it at all & the mark was all ready there, they’d have to investigate further, if not telling you want to sell it back to them as a “B” Grade as the mark won’t be affecting it that much, if they refuse the “B” grade, ask for a refund again.
No refund .but them have too fix the problem or exchange!!!!!!!! If can not fix it.100%go back with your bro and stand strong and take camera for evidence them have no choice them have too fix the problem it has as for marks on lens that is not the problem you are interested in
If it's sold as new it will need a receipt on their end to back it up but even so it's no skin off their nose to send it back for repairs in that case. If it's pre-owned even their own policy states it may have marks etc. They will need proof it was done by you (which is nearly impossible to prove that) photos won't mean shit as it could have happened by the handler before packing. They have a duty to honour the 24month warranty and send it off for repairs. Email them back and threaten them with trading standards. They are chatting a load of bollocks they know they will probably be out of pocket whatever they do so they are hoping you are too gullible to follow it up. Good luck
Dude they dont have a right to do this as your consumer right in the UK are that you have an item is fit for perpose contact you bank debit card disputes if you paid via debit card. and even better if you got it off line as you have Evan more rights online. what should happen is this tell you bank everything about the item you got and that the fault was not the reason they will not give you a refund they eather need to replace like for like or full refund or pay for item to be repaired, BUT the bank will not give them the opportunity they will look at the law and the law states that you should have a working item. Contact your bank. under consumer law you have 6 years with every electrical item.
Why should it matter if it has a mark on it? It's not as if they can re-sell it anyway because it's faulty. I bet if it was a cheaper item they would refund it, they're just being greedy and awkward.
Yeah they can't be like "oh this has a mark on it where you have used it, so no warranty, sorry". It comes with a 24 month warranty and signs of use (doesn't look serious damage to me) should not be an issue.
They don’t have to give a refund because of the reason stated but they are obliged to fix it back to working condition, that’s what the warranty is for.
not fit for purpose go to trading standards you have 14 days to return and longer online its statutary rights, , oh as for taking it to dji , your contract is with cex not dji , so cex should rectify the the fault
Don't give up research you right's this does not sound right this is crazy contact the CEO of cex take this all the way to the top .see if you can get some help from a lawyer or someone. Keep us posted on your progress

To be honest mate I’ve stop using them as well for this exact reason. Be careful to all!

I Might be wrong but cant the part round the camera be removed to swap over the the ND filters?
Gd luck mate hope u get this sorted 😊

Did they test the drone when it came in?
Write to CEX CEO with all the info, names, stores etc... based on their response you can then move forward with Trading Standards.
Did the lens have a scratch when you got it? If they said it was done after and they have photo proof they will assume its damage caused by you sadly 😞
the len is not damaged at all. its only a very tiny mark on the camera its so hard to see. lens is fine!
@@GameboysAreAwesome 😪 damn then hopefully they sort it mate. If not that's shocking. Ask them for photo proof of the mark before. If they don't have any then they can't refuse anything. Hope you sort it soon 🙏
Definitely speak to trading standards tho!
I've used the 24 month warranty with cex,no problems, replaced my faulty item without any issues, sorry you had problems
Cwx do t promise refunds they promise a warranty that means they need to fix it go back to them and ask for it to be repaired under the warranty dont go down the refund route you won't get anywhere with that the warranty promises to fix or replace print of the terms and go I with it... I've always wondered if they honored the 24 month warranty...

I was going to buy the new iPhone tomorrow but I won’t bother now. Don’t want to risk this. Think I’ll avoid CEX now
Try another cex I have same problem before and next one change my.

Maybe try BBC watchdog if they get in on the act CEX would not like the publicity so give you a refund.
Cex don't want to refund you because they will have to sell the drone as discounted, and they don't want to lose money.
a faulty item, sale of goods act protects you..report them to trading standards.
It could have been scratched by Cex when they were checking it
And just using it as an excuse not to give you your money back.

go to citizens advice or give them a ring then contact trading stANDARDS A and explain to them
