This was a really fluid interview! James did a great job of keeping the conversation moving to avoid those cringing silent moments, Tyler Perry being a very active listener as well as adding his own personality in his stories, and Amy just connecting with everyone (like how she instantly started talking to Tyler about working in Atlanta). Also, James for throwing in one of his own personal stories to make it really feel like a real conversation and not just host & guest. Incredible all around and was very fun to watch!
This is why I love James Corden, he has his off-days, but when he hits it, he does it spectacularly. There are some people that have sadly only watched a few of his 'bad' interviews and refuse to watch anymore and then keep coming back just to leave bad comments based from what they've seen before, but he's also had a lot of extremely great and funny interviews that are so underrated! And we have to remember that he's only been doing this for 3 years with no prior experience, while most of the other late night hosts have been doing this for over a decade and still don't hit it every time! I hope in time, James will grow and keep getting better and better at it
Keep in mind, they go over the talking points in advance. He didn't just happen to ask "Were there any celebrities you met before you were famous?" arbitrarily. It would be dead air if the answer was no. He knew Amy had a story to tell about Bono so he set it up. All talk show interviews are pre-discussed with the guests.
oh i didn't know that!! i Have seen guests act like they don't know how to answer a question and i always thinks "oh maybe they are nervous." Some guests just do not reciprocate James' energy. James is amazing!
@@johnsmi213 Yes that is true about all interviews. That is why this interview is unique because it is the chemistry between these (unselfish) personalities that makes it fun to watch-not the set up.
It is always hard to watch awkward interviews, but this one is so enjoyable! James does such an awesome job and Amy & Tyler have such great personalities. I just could watch them talk about anything for another 7 minutes :)
Ok so upon Emily's insistence, John had hired Amy to play his wife in 'A Quiet Place' , but then Emily decided she wanted to do it after all, so John had to call Amy back and say 'sorry" ...so then Amy said "you better be firing me because Emily is taking this role!" true story!
She mentioned Emily Blunt! I forgot they did a movie together!! Cant remember what it was called but they were sisters and they had a weird cleaning company. Hhhmm must rewatch. Love her (love them).
I got to go see her last year and it was amazing! I sat there, listening to her tell a story about her and Julie Andrews, tears running down my face. She is such a great story teller!
I remember I had a job interview at InterContinental Hotel in London as a waitress, but got rejected. Then 3 month later, I heard Whitney Houston stayed in that hotel. I was so upset I didn't get the job.
Yep; here in Denver....mid-90s; she was just the greeter/hostess; she didn't have to wear the waitress outfit.....But Remember, back then Hooters had their own airline! Anyway she went from that, right into regional dance/dinner theaters here ....saw her many times!!
Lee Rubin Yeah, I definitely noticed that. At first it seemed like it was because they lived in the same neighbourhood, either way it looks like she feels there's some common ground there and she enjoys connecting with him. This whole exchange feels very natural and genuine :)
@Lee, and that she’s just incredibly polite and has impeccable manners. She just makes everyone feel welcome and includes them by turning towards them and making eye contact when telling a story or having a conversation it seems. Some people could really learn how to do that better lol.
Really enjoyed the interaction of Amy, Tyler and James. 1 of the best and relatable interviews- discussions. Love them all 💕. I’d vacuum the rug till it was gone to meet Lady O 😊
I mean, her brother has been a good business dealer himself since she and he worked at a local, was that rodeo show? back when they were still children. He was able to make the owner of whatever they worked for agree to his proposals. He's good, Amy says. So she and he must really be good indeed at these things. Hahaha
I have met and talked with a few celebs myself. Jeffrey Jones in Port Charlotte, Fl, 3 different times, because his parents lived there, don't know if either still do though cause this was back in 95-96. Met Bill Sadler and helped him buy beers in a Karaoke bar in Hamburg, NY cause his parents & brother lived there, it was during the Christmas/New Years Holiday, back in around about 1999/2000 time frame I think. Met and had a late night dinner with Matt & Kevin Dillon in because their home town is Mamaroneck, NY and a old friend of mine set up the dinner cause she went to school with them. Sergeant Slaughter and all the rest of the late 80's famous wrestlers cause I was a taxi driver in Buffalo, NY and they all stayed at a Hotel across from the Buffalo/Niagara Airport back then and were in the bar drinking. I had a call to pick someone up at the bar, but could not find the person so since I saw these guys when I was yelling out I was a cab driver they took notice said it I couldn't find the person to come over and they'd set me up with a couple drinks and then fit as many of them as I could in my cab, as well called for a 2nd and 3rd to get the rest and take them to strip clubs from back in late 80's in Buffalo area. Also met Eric Roberts cause one of my oldest friends is a firefighter for Sarasota County and he also owns a very successful Ice Cream truck business down there. Hey don't laugh cause the area he's in believe it or not but at that time there were no other ice cream truck businesses it was so weird. But anyway he had been hired to take his one truck to Eric Roberts for a child's Birthday party. Though as anyone knows that unlike Julia Roberts Eric is like a 3rd rate actor, he is a pretty good actor but not sure why he never was that successful. Not sure if it's because he has a cleft palate and he has the lip scar from it or why he just isn't who knows. My friend that owns the Ice Cream truck biz also was born with a Cleft palate too, interesting coincidence. I mean I do know there are a few other actors that have that too but just seems like Eric is the least successful actor of them all. I met Pat Benatar in Buffalo way back, she was doing a free concert in Buffalo, for something called Music in the Square, and she was backstage they only had like tarping around the back end and I peaked my head in to see if I could see her and there she was like 8 feet away, and I just "Um Hi Miss Benatar, I love your music" and she said well thanks, and you are who? I was like oh just a huge fan since the 80's. So that was that and went on my way into the crowd. There are a few others but I'll just stop there.
omg this made me so giddy! I worked at Gap in Atlanta!! Would you like to save an extra 20% off your purchase and save 10% everyday by opening up a gap card today???!?!?!
When I saw the title of this video, I thought it said "Amy Adams Wasp's Star..." I thought she was going to replace Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp in the MCU. Ha, ha, ha!
@Niqui H Fuck off, racist bitter hateful BITCH. You are not welcomed here... or anywhere, judging by levels of your bitchiness. Jealous frong, you'' ll never have Amy's fame or money or manners or intellect... or anything! LOSER!
I would buy whatever they were selling if they made a commercial miniseries (like they do now with Flo and the gang in Progressive or, weirdly, taco bell, or those girls from that car rental thing who drive the truck) that was just in one hood or another, Tyler Perry character being done with everybody, and Amy Adams character being an extra-smiles-on-top, employee-of-the-month, worker that's always on shift with him. I would watch that as a regular miniseries. And I'd watch that doomed network sitcom from start to inevitable episode 8 end.
James Corden is an inspiration because: look at what he's done with this time slot.... I respect his predecessors, but I also have to marvel at what he's done, as well.
If I could give Amy one advice -- sorry, not that anyone should care whatever I say: Don't do whatever Meg Ryan did with her face if and when her career hit the trough. Meg could have aged gracefully if only she could just lay off them botox etc. (Renee Zellweger, or her surgeon, was exceptionally lucky. Happy for them both for the fine result.)
Amy is so sweet! Always respectful and interested in the other person
I realized that. She's amazing!
when Tyler would speak, and Amy would turn her body towards him to listen closely 💯💯
