  • Welcome to Episode 1 of Telford Steam Railway's Railway Roundup where we show you all of the exciting projects happening at the Railway.
On this Episode we have an update on the return of steam locomotive 5619, a look at the P-way work down to Doseley and a check in on some of our Diesel engines.
If you want to see the events we operate such as our Anything Goes Diesel Gala, you can visit our website here: www.telfordsteamrailway.co.uk/
We currently have an appeal to buy a new boiler for our narrow gauge steam tram.
A complete new built vertical boiler is available to buy for £8500. We need your donations now to enable the railway to secure it for our steam tram before it is too late. You can help us greatly by donating at : gofund.me/093e7130
As a thank you, we are offering rewards for certain levels of donations, although every single one is gratefully received and will help put our tram back into operation.
We’re a Heritage Railway based at Horsehay in Telford, Shropshire (TF4 2NF). We are open Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays so come on down and have a ride.
Tickets - £8 Adult, £5 Children/Seniors and £25 Family (two adults and upto three Children). Great value season tickets (which pay for themselves after only 4 visits to the railway (not including special events)) are also available. Tickets allow unlimited travel on all our standard gauge trains, entry onto our model railway exhibition and (if open) museum.
    Also open
Gift shop - selling a range of Take-n-Play Thomas the Tank Engine toys, soft toys and other items. We have a new delivery of Middleton Press railway books, featuring the following titles - Craven Arms to Wellington, Stafford to Wellington, Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury, Kidderminster to Shrewsbury, Branch Lines around Market Drayton, Branch Lines around Cleobury Mortimer, and Branch Line to Shrewsbury.
Second Hand Bookstall - selling railway, transport and gardening books, come and grab yourself a bargain!
Picnic area - enjoy our peaceful space close to Horsehay Pool. See if you can find all the wooden animals in the trees!
The Furnaces Tearoom will be offering hot and cold drinks, ice creams, cakes, snacks and light meals to eat in or take away. Breakfast is now being served until 12pm (Please note that the tearoom will not be open to the public until 11am on Sunday 3 September due to a private booking).
The Pheonix Miniature Railway will be open and giving rides (additional charges apply).
All attractions subject to availability. Telford Steam Railway reserves the right to cancel, amend or substitute any of all of the attractions without notice if required.

I think I could do a cracking job with the sub titles as what I see right now is a box of frogs.

There's a rumour that the Welsh crews on the 56XX class only filled one side tank with water, and the other side was filled with Brains Beer. Has anybody else heard this scuttlebutt?

There’s a feeder pipe that goes between each tank so that wouldn’t be possible

Interesting video - but difficult to hear the conversation in places.
