My drunken mother stuffed my brother and me (we were about a year old I think) into the pram, covered us in lots of thick duvets, put us out in the baking summer sun and then went out to get booze. Our neighbour heard us screaming hours later and came to the rescue. We were both on the verge of collapse due to overheating and dehydration and our faces had 1st degree burns.

Nope, she didn't get arrested, but my dad did divorce her not long after. I don't have many memories of her, only the loud arguing between her and dad. Usually it ended up with her crying on the stairs and promising time and time again that things would get better, which they never did.
She died in 1998 and to me, her death was just another obituary in the newspaper.

He thought I was extremely popular. He had money, parents that cared, a job long before I got one for the first time, and our mutual friends preferred me over him so he thought.
I tried to hash it out with him and try to say I was only trying to fit in and I saw us as friends too, but he wasn't having it. He pulled out one of those knives you can get from Walmart, the flip knives. He slashed me several times and even got me stabbed in my right side, and broke 2 ribs. I was hospitalized for a while and sent home to heal. I had to testify against him for attempted 1st degree murder. Turned out he planned to kill me either way.

Not me, but a previous neighbour. There was 2 men, a lady and 3 or 4 kids living together in a house next to ours on vineyard estate in the middle of nowhere.
We had a black out on a dark night and then next thing there is screaming going on and then this little boy comes bolting out of the house straight to our house screaming "they're trying to kill my mum, they have knives and are going to kill her and us kids" my partner jumped in our vehicle and turned it around to use the headlights as light, while I took the little boy into my house to keep safe, he stormed in yelled police are on their way, and the 2 men stopped stomping on the woman and hightailed it out of the house using the side door, the other neighbours were quietly rescuing the other kids out of the locked bedroom through the window and sending them into my house while I was on the phone talking with ambulance and police giving them details of what happened through this little warriors eyes. Turns out this little boy tried to stop the men from beating his mother up, but the men picked him up, threw him against the wall then kicked him in the back, this is where he ran out of the house to get help.
After the men left, my partner got the mother out of her house and into the back of his vehicle and started assessing her injuries to pass on to the ambulance service. Our other neighbours closed up her house and secured everything to prevent the men from gaining access to any weapons and trying again.
In the light the mothers face was all bloodied and swollen with clear boot prints on her face.
We contacted the mothers parents to come and look after the uninjured kids.
The police came out but the men were nowhere to be found until they announced the police dogs were enroute so they had better come out of hiding.... They did.
After the night was finished (leaving a lot of info out here not important) we all went back to our respective homes and to bed (no power. Nothing to do lol).
Next minute police were knocking at our door for access to the neighbours house (We had a key to access each property on the estate). While in there police found an imitation handgun that they believed was used in a then recent robbery, drugs, and the knives the little boy was talking about.
I still think about that family and hope they are doing much better o

If they kill you, then they were planning to do it anyway, probably with torture, and definitely with a better chance of hiding the body. I feel the phobia of bathtubs thing...
I mean, it isn't related to a murder attempt or anything but as a kid I had _SEVERE_ androphobia (fear of men) to the point that just being in a small room with one caused me to have panic attacks and I was essentially even more of a selective mute when I was around them. It was literally so bad that all throughout elementary school they made sure that all of my teachers were female (except for the music/chorus teacher because they didn't have a female teacher there but I decided to have chorus every year once I was old enough and even though he terrified me because of his short temper I endured ot) because I was just _THAT_ afraid of men. And for the most part this trend continued all the way into high school as I can list on two hands the number of male teachers I've had (not counting the times I had that same teacher multiple times)
Thankfully my first ever male teacher (not counting my elementary school music teacher) was really nice, friendly, and funny so I had no problems with him and he was actually my favorite teacher and he's the biggest reason I was able.to start to get over my phobia...
Until I got another teacher in my senior year of high school who started to bring back my phobia...which was almost two years ago now...
Anyway, my phobia was mainly worth older men, I had problems with kids my age but not as bad and no problems with kids younger than me...although...teenagers still scared me a bit...enough that I had a few panic attacks on the bus in high school when forced to sit next to a boy...
    So what caused this phobia?
    Well...
I'll leave that up to your imagination although my father yelling at me didn't help.

I went to an art school when I was 13, well it was a class on Illustration and pretty much everyone just drew anime. There was a kid with severe difficulties with social skills and he was always angry at everything. I had a friend there who was super sweet but she was autistic and couldn’t tell the other kid was volatile. One day she was talking about how her great grandparents died in the Holocaust. This got the other kid really angry and I’m not sure why, but he was saying very Xenophobic things and kept talking about how he had it harder because he was adopted. We both said that that must be hard and that we’re sorry but that didn’t stop him from escalating. She started crying because he had said that he’s glad her great grandparents died and that he wished she would as well and painfully. The teacher made him sit and draw in silence for about 30 mins, he then stood up and showed us a large scale drawing of everyone in class dead from different methods. I was hanging naked (which was disturbing because he always talked about my breasts and said he wanted to rape me). He described how he would kill her and enjoy it and said he would do it right now. He was not bluffing you could see it in his eyes. He threw a very heavy bag at the small girl and knocked her down and was going to throw a desk at her (he was about 6ft and very strong). I grabbed her fast and hid in a closet as he screened at us for thirty minutes as authorities came. He went to court and needed up in a juvenile detention centre. Three years later I unknowingly accepted him as a follower on Instagram and he sent disturbing song about crushing and torturing people and sent animals dying from fire to my dms and realized that it was him when I saw a new selfie in his drawing page and it was the same kid. I blocked him and haven’t heard anything about him since.

Man the kid with down syndrome story reminds me of what happened to me.
I was in 2nd grade and a girl (lets call her Sara not her real name. She had down syndrome, which was 2001) name Sara was in my class who was 13 and twice the size of us. Teachers made me take her on as a friend and i was somehow responsible for her (i was 7 or 8 at the time, idk how that worked) so first two and half months were fine and she seemed very nice. Around October, we were heading to class and i got in before she did, not sure what happened or what i did to set her off, her mood changed in a second. Her eyes were empty and its like a switch went off, she walked towards me while i stepped back because it kinda freak me out if I'm being honest (still bugs me to this day). Sara suddenly pushes me to the ground in our classroom with everyone there, took one of those long metal trash cans and started to beat me with it while i was on the ground. I don't remember who stopped it, but after it had stopped, me and sara got moved into the hallway. I was in tears and i was shaking which made my body hurt more. My teacher explained that we had to apologize to each other and no harm done. I was horrified and refused since I had no idea what i was suppose to apologize for or why i even got attacked in the first place, sara apologize, i just stood there and said nothing. Was given a lunch detention for not saying sorry back.
She targeted me for years after and she wasn't the only one, school was personally hell for me at a early age, so never wanted to go to school in fear of being torn apart or attacked. She never got in trouble, only time she got moved out of the school i was in is when she did it to someone else in 8th grade threatening to put a bomb on this kid and blow them up in front of everyone. She disappeared for a few months. She said or did a lot more insane stuff that probably now would be taken so much more serious hopefully.
I know it doesn't seem like attempted murder but that's what it felt like and im still terrified of sara even tho she has no memory of doing alot of harm to me over the years without being punished even when she told me she will one day kill me or slit my throat. My first day of freshman year, hadn't seen her in a year and thought I finally was free from her, nope she was in my class and she was excited, She thought we're buddies and hugged me. I was freaked out and terrified to say anything to her.
I maybe 28 now, but i wish the school didn't let her get away with very scary behavior and kept putting me in a position where I became a target and wasn't allow to defend myself. When students are being mentally affected by this type of stuff at school, please do something and not ignore it. 8 years of suffering before having a meltdown really does alot of damage both mentally and physically

People think that people with Down's are complete idiots and can't be held accountable for their actions little does society know, Down's syndrome people know they get treated differently and will do whatever they want. Even their parents treat them like they are stupid and are just little kids. When i say this, i don't mean everyone does but the majority of down's kids i went to school with, and apparently other people too, would do bad things and nothing ever happened to them. That being said, i recently met a really chill and funny down's kids. i'm not in school because i'm old but i work with his older brother. His parent's treat him as an adult that knows right from wrong.

It's a liability things because parents of "special" children can sue schools under the americans with disability act and ruin the lives of every administrator and soak the district for millions. Schools will not discipline "special" children and they can get away with anything short of murder. Most "special" kids are very nice and not violent, but a small percentage of them have serious personality disorders and are violent. They make school hell for everyone around them. As a parent of an unspecial child all you can do is move your child out of that school.

Because of this, she developed psychotic depression and had postnatal depression. I would do something that reminded her of my dad, and she would just snap. On 3 different occasions choked me until I passed out. She has also beat me until I, a dark brown person, was black and blue with bruises and even once gave me a concussion. She also would scream horrible stuff at me and my brothers for hours. This was in front of my infant brother and 4-year-old brother. Thankfully, they don't remember much, but I remember everything. All my life my mum has been obsessed with him, what he did to her, and recently now I'm back in contact she accuses me of being just like him and abusive and horrible. Another fun one from me last year: Mum goes off the wagon completely and starts going on a drinking binge every day for at least two weeks. So begins a continuous barrage of barging into my bedroom in the afternoon, screaming about me being fat, lazy and useless, being just like my abusive biological father who I've only been in contact with for 7 years. I'm just sitting in my room like I always do, writing or reading or playing games. A coping mechanism to distract myself from my mother's drunken abuse my entire life. She's been an alcoholic for literally 40 years since before I was born. At first I tried to weather it out like I normally do, cry and feel like crap, but eventually I feel like I'm going to have a psychotic break. At one point I wanted to go into the bathroom and down a bunch of pills. I didn't and actually decided to stay at my dad's for two weeks. During that time, my mum continuously called me, drunkenly asking to speak to my dad, told him she still loved him, asking me to come home and saying she missed me. Finally, she stopped Christmas last year but is still being an immature bitch. So apparently the reason she went on such a huge binge was because she was worried about me being brainwashed by my dad into becoming like him. No, bitch you did that yourself. This is why I hate my parents and don't want to ever have kids.

She remembers not seeing anything or being able to move when he thought she was dead and all the messed up shit he was saying before he fled. Luckily, her dad made a random visit to her later that morning and was able to get her help. He was caught and did some prison time but she is still scared he will find her again one day. One of the ways I try and process what they’re telling in their stories is to say ‘that’s someone else’s day’…. For example; imagine waking up, going to the toilet (normal behaviour for nearly all of us) but instead of thinking about what we tasks we have to do today, instead, we’ve gotta worry if someone is gonna kill us today. Instead of getting on with the housework and thinking about niggles in life, you’ve gotta plan for your own escape should you need it. Instead of doing the food shopping you’ve gotta keep your eyes peeled for threats.
It’s hard to comprehend that these people lived through this on a daily basis, the stories we’re hearing about is just one part of their day.
Idk if I sound insane here lol I hope others can relate to what I mean.
Even from the other perspective; you wake up and think about how you’re gonna exact revenge on someone, how you’re gonna get away with it, etc. Someone else’s day…. Crazy!

I don't know if I was going to be murdered, but this happened.
There was this man in the town I lived in, who had been in jail for beating someone up with a baseball bat, he has a daughter who was younger than me by about 6-7 years, and we didn't get along... Well, I didn't get along with anyone at that town. Anyways. She was of colour and so was her dad, one time we were getting off the bus and she was in a really shitty mood for some reason, grabs me by the hair and rips it, I tell her to piss off as it hurt but I wasn't really up for an argument. I got home and about 15 minutes later, we get a knock on the door, it was her father, who'd come around because I'd apparently called her a "black B****" I can't remember what was said as I was shitting myself but he ended up leaving.
Luckily, her grandfather, his dad, who'd been taking care of her while he was in jail, had gotten the truth out of her that I'd not said such a thing, he did come and apologize for it.
I really don't know if he would have killed me or not, now that I write about it now, it's probably not as bad as I thought it was, but still pretty scary to be confronted by a guy who's killed someone before...

The exception is newborns who’s mothers have PPD/PPS. That shit is horrific and I don’t blame the mothers with PPS in particular because pregnancy and birth can literally break the human brain.

The last thing I want to see is a gun permit given to a teen who still hasn't dealt with his/her puberty-induced anger management issues.

The mother with the car: why have LC instead of NC? The bitch nearly killed you, I would have been afraid to ever talk to her again.

Not a murder, but my mum had an ex boyfriend 15 years ago, when I was 14/15. Trouble is, she's been an alcoholic my entire life. In recovery for about 10 years, but does still go off the wagon occasionally and can be very emotionally abusive. So anyway, mum meets this bloke on a park bench when she's drunk. They start a relationship. I move out because they were both alcoholics and I was trying to study for my exams. One day he ended up beating her. I wasn't there so I don't know all the details, but my aunt said she was covered in blood and he did something to her eye that her retina was shredded so she had to get surgery. He was taken to court and got convicted for GBH. Mum refuses to acknowledge it to this day because she's an irresponsible moron and I still have to put up with her bullshit. Also, my bio dad was a narcissist so you'd think she'd leat the first time.

About half of these stories piss me off because they never tell us whether or not legal action was taken. Someone tried to _k i l l_ you, I'd be able to sleep better at night knowing they got locked up than leaving me in a void like that.

I survived an execution style murder. I was shot in the head with a 45 hollowpoint, and after, um? 35? 40? Surgeries. (I do not honestly know, as i lost track in the haze of time & painkillers) anyway. After ALL THAT, you’d look at me today, and never know. You’d think it was only a dimple. Cute even….

I can’t prove that they tried to kill us, but it was weird. Awhile back, my family and I were stopped at a gas station. My mom filled the gas tank and then she got into the car. We were about to drive away when this car pulled up in front of our car. They were driving so slowly, and we thought they had just ran out of gas or something. When they finally moved out of the way, my mom pulled out and drove around the gas station towards the exit. As soon as I saw that car, I got a bad feeling. I felt nauseous and it felt dark, so I took a picture of that car. I figured whatever happens, I got a picture of their car just in case. My family was talking as we drove out of the parking lot. My mom said “they might be getting ready to rob the place”, and we were just speculating. The car then pulled out of the gas station and sped to catch up with us. We were in a straight lane, and they were in a left turn lane, and there was another straight lane between us. As soon as we came to a stop, the rolled down the passenger window, and then they immediately rolled it back up when a car pulled yo between us and them.
Not going to lie, I think they had a gun. We don’t know. All I know, is that my mom and I felt nauseous for the rest of the night. I think they were trying to carjack us, but that’s just my opinion.

that kid likely wasn't just autistic but had other issues too, trust me I'm autistic and I'm not up for murdering anyone lmao. I do have a story from one of my friends, her older cousin tried to drown her. she was swimming in a lake on a family trip, he comes over to her, and they begin a swimming contest. then they do one of those "stay under the longest" contests. she was winning. he got pissed. the next round he surfaces and starts holding her under the water, and she's struggling against him to surface. the cousin's brother pulls him off of her and helps my friend to shore. luckily my friend is extremely good at holding her breath and she didn't inhale too much water, but she still went to hospital. they don't talk to the murderous cousin much anymore, because his temper ended up in several more incidents and it got to the point he was a danger to his parents.
