Great video! I love that you extract the water out throughout the process getting rid of lanolin and dirt. Nice set up.

Love it! Never knew how wool was commercially processed. Very educational.

Have you considered collecting lanolin as another byproduct to add to profit.

How is called the machine from 7:10 minute, please? And I do not referring to carding, but to machine that made wash raw wool in fluffs before carding. Thank you

Curious, why can't you use a gentle cycle on a commercial washing machine to wash, rinse, and spin?

Why not just wash and brush the sheep before you clip its hair?

Candide Thirtythree Not economically viable for big flocks =) and, well, it's not like giving a bath to a dog. The sheep won't enjoy it much, so might as well just wash the sheared wool instead.

Since I wrote that my son designed a cattle chute to walk them down into a concrete lined trough filled with warm water, soap and flea dip and then up the other side through a shower to rinse them off.
We have a backhoe for digging the trough and my husband is an engineer and knows everything about concrete and water systems since he has built municipal water plants for over 35 years and both of them can weld. I already have the propane, on-demand hot water heaters in my Amazon que LOL!
I would line them up in the cattle chute and wash their grubby behinds at least once a month. I would not want the poor things to be dirty and crusty and full of bugs. I won't have that many anyway, maybe a dozen to start.
It might not work, but then again it might and if it does then it will be easier to wash the wool. I am thinking that I will go to the secondhand store and buy 2 old washing machines to put in the barn because I would not want that mess in my house.
I am kinda looking forward to washing a sheep LOL! I love animals and birds but I am allergic to cats and dogs and birds, I am hoping that maybe I won't be allergic to sheep...that would be horrible!

That's amazing! How well does that work for the cows? I've been seeing many studies related to grooming increasing production :) Is it paying off?
I'd imagine a sheep would be really hard to wash like that because of the lanolin, but who knows.
