  • This is opening day for 2017. Another cold wet start but the trout were in this magic little piece of water and I picked up some nice trout. Follow me this season and I push myself to get some good footage of New Zealand wild trout.

    I would like to know more about the nymph, ie the recipe to tie it! Looks like you are really off to a great season. We hand a warm fall here in CT, heavy rain the last day or so, besides rifle deer season starts 1 November!

      Hey Craig, Lol yeah spotted the bugger, would have been even better if he had paid it attention the first drift. Your day out looked pretty good too Man. Will catch up soon.

      My pleasure mate. Its good to help other anglers out. That was one of the main things I enjoyed about guiding. Tight lines.

    It's hard to beat the intimacy of a small stream with a few fish and time to spend there. Thanx for sharing

      Hey Timmo. Yeah it is a great way to unwind. Every so often I just stop fishing ,sit down and take it all in. Just sitting there with the sound of the water, the bird life and hopefully the warmth of the sun, is a true delight, few can appreciate. Thanks for commenting mate, I hope you have a good season.

    nice work man! i like your videos .. so how are you rigging that ? is your upper fly off a tag end of a knot? or is the bottom fly tied off the hook shank of the top fly? just curious.

      Hey Meze. yeah so I tie a 10 to 12 inch piece of tippet from the Dropper, (weighted Nymph) to the Point Fly, (unweighted in most cases) from the bend of the Dropper. This is a simple NZ Nymphing rig and as you can see it works. Thanks for watching bud.

      Hey man, sorry I didn't see your comment come in. yeah this was a good start considering most rivers were up and fishing hard. I will try and put up a video every week from now on. Thanks for commenting my friend.

    damn, some of those strikes are difficult to detect

    • @rivergod21
      @rivergod21  7 років тому

      You have to strike bud. Too many anglers are expecting the indicator to go down with flashing lights saying fish on. That just isn't the case, some of them are real soft. Hope you had a good season bud?
