The T-schaped anchor lifts are actually the esiest, bc they pull you straight in the snowboard. The button-shaped lifts are terrible for snowboards, bc they pull you in an angle. But still, they are okay I guess.
Oddly, getting off the lift was never a problem for me... Catching the edge of my board at speed and falling face first while the board comes over my back and hits me in the back of the head was always my issue 😂 the good 'ol scorpion move lol
I switched long time ago over to flow bindings, wouldnt change to something else anymore. Easy to get in, great response and in those cases easy to get out and walk
My friend with board crashed into my other friends mom so she broke her knee when they were getting of the lift. It was a lifetime experience. Helli flying 2-3 meters above my head and landing 10m away from me. Since that they I'm always dreaming about making a helli licence.
My local ski resort had a 40 year old chair lift which had zero slow down at the top you would just get fucked off it at the top at full speed. As a snowboarder it took 100% full concentration to not get absolutely annihilated when getting off.. good times..
It’s crazy it be like that, the chair behind me the girl broke her foot getting off at the very tip top 💔 My best was being dead skiing all day and went to get up but couldn’t and leaned all the back until my backpack hit and i used that to keep going back to standing haha
I gotta say most shorts these days either bore me or aggravate me, but this one is awesome. Really well done. Not over acted. Good use of music. Good camera angles and cuts. For real unless you prefer it as a hobby you should seriously look into filmmaking. I think you have the gift for it.
As a skier my biggest fear is being on a Quad chair or larger with multiple boarders and having nowhere to go when several of them fall as they dismount, however so far I've managed to make it through the pile of bodies without hitting any of them
I went skiing a few years back and I was so paranoid that I ofc had the bar down, the bar got kind of stuck so when it finally went up it was too late to get off the lift easily. I tried to get off right away but I got scared and hesitated, I made it off the bench AFTER it turned and if I got off a second later I would have gone down and very long way before reaching the snowy slope. I was very shaken by this. The next day the snow was too powdery so I had to cross country the entire way down a mountain and I was so tired and grumpy from that so I stayed in the lobby the rest of the time we were there.
Add to the fear, surrounded by skiers. Only cause they dont rlly think where they put their skis down. I had a couple times one put their skis on top of my snowboard crashing me 😩
It's because you don't straighten out your board when unloading. It's your fault not the skiers. I've done both for years. You should be required to ski, and all skiers should be required to snowboard. It adds more respect to both sliding styles. I've only been hit twice in 47 years on the slopes, both times by a snowboarder, on their heel side
Lmao that was me! Fell in front of everyone as I forgot to get off the lift before having to step out. 1 second hesitation cost me to fall on top of someone resulting in feeling dumb and special as everyone had to stop for my safety hahha lol. Honestly it hurt bad and that walk of shame was something to never forget about. IF THATS BIG BEAR THATS EXACTLY WHERE I FELL FROM RIGHT IN THAT CORNER YOU SEE A DROP AND ITS DEEPER THAN YOU THINK.
This is why the Switch step in bindings were so awesome. I could get the inside of my back foot on the binding and as soon as I got weight on the binding when I stood up, the not clicked in and away I went.
This happens all the time honestly sometimes even experienced riders can get on or off lifts incorrectly and that depends on the operator of the lift, the conditions of the ramp off loading and the comfort level of the rider
Yes. The fear is real. Mine was always either my jacket or something is going to get caught on the lift seat or I slip and fall and take out all the other people getting off the lift and we all fall down! Been there done that!!! 😂
My favorite part 😂 I was laughing SOOOO hard nothing was coming out about to pee 😂when I was watching my fiance get swooped up 2 lifts ahead of me Soo quickly he screamed because his weight bouncing the bungee springing the lift 😂
Been boarding for years and don't even think about it, but yeah sometimes I still fall don't worry about it. Usually in my case it's one of my "skier" friends giving me a little push!!!!!
One time when I was like five I thought the lift had ended and I hopped off, but I started going backwards down a hill. Let’s just say it didn’t end well lol
As someone who has skied since four years old, I started on a very low, small chair lift and slowly went up to the seven seaters with heated seats, wind covers, and they go to the summit. Now it’s a relaxing process lol

The actual skilift to fear is of course the T-shape anchor lift
Even that’s not as bad as a button shaped lift
I’ve been on that one but for me none of the Skilifts are scary or anything
There”s nothing to fear only amateur skiërs, tree wells and cracks in glaciers 😅
The T-schaped anchor lifts are actually the esiest, bc they pull you straight in the snowboard. The button-shaped lifts are terrible for snowboards, bc they pull you in an angle. But still, they are okay I guess.
What i do at the button, is place the button under my armpit, and lock the bar with my other arm. Quite easy but not that comfy as tbar
Oddly, getting off the lift was never a problem for me... Catching the edge of my board at speed and falling face first while the board comes over my back and hits me in the back of the head was always my issue 😂 the good 'ol scorpion move lol
At least that's a more valid fear
Yeah. This might be every first-timer’s fear because they have yet to fall. My fear these days is avalanche. #titlefail
I love to tomahawk. At the end it always leads to nice refreshing trip to the chiropractor
😂 I ski and my problem was getting off of the conveor 😂
Been there, done that. Tore my MCL. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger 💪
Biggest fear is a large flat surface requiring you to endlessly jump to cross it.
and the drag lifts 😭😭😭 my 🍑 is still bruising from falling and being dragged uphill...

@@zebles200yuck. Don’t do that. Wax your board.
Yep, I still get anxiety when getting off the lift, it’s so not made for snow boarders 😅
It’s a skill issue. I’ve been doing it since I was 5 with my mom and dad….
When you get off just stand on your board and ride down the ramp.
Ben wasn't paying attention.
Leave the airpods out so you know what is going on!
Ben just casually chillin‘ on the floor, at the end 😂

IM A BIG FAN NO WAY LOL

oh no😭😊
Oh hell naw
Yes. Getting off the lift when I was first learning was scary. I relate so hard to this.

I'm still at this level... Going down a shallow slope without face-planting requires focus and a bit of luck... Same for getting off the lift
