Only Fools And Horses. No matter if you seen each episode 1 or 1,000 times, they never fail to make you laugh. 10/10. Not just the best sitcom ever, it is the greatest show of all time
Well Gary, I cant deny its popularity, but to say it is the greatest show of all time, does do a disservice to newsnight, antiques roadshow, royal variety performance, countryfile et al. Not to mention the queens speech and parliamentary broadcasts which we all agree are wonderfully enlightening, informative and awe inspiring. The BBC truly is inspirational and has been for hundreds of years

The only comparable series might be Red Dwarf and Fawlty Towers - although obviously very different to this. Never seen The Inbetweeners but it's unlikely to be on the same level either.
The actor who played the bloke had a small part in the beginning of American werewolf in london.....maybe there is a deleated scene where they do show them returning it to him???

In fact I think he has the very first line. ...yes if you watch to hull and back there does seem to be a part missing from there return scene. one min there in the sea lost again....then it cuts to Boyce telling Abdul that del has informed him he is back in the country. Then dels van pulls up and they all arrive. Seems like there could had been a few scenes they cut between that???
All time favourite episode, poor old Denzil played a blinder in it thinking he was having a breakdown, he was so frequently the fall guy for Dell's schemes. Shame we haven't the acting or writing talent to compete with this great show.
Simply the best comedy ever. This is the kind of thing our collective love of the BBC was built on. This was the time we were delighted and blessed with only having to pay a relatively small licence fee, for the best TV in the world. A very different story nowadays, with the quality of BBC productions and news reporting in the gutter.
A few years ago I joined the OFAH fan club, this was before I even got internet, so I sent my form off in the post and had a couple of ofah/fan club questions on my mind so wrote them down and sent them with it, a few days later the phone went and it was Perry, answered my questions, had a little chat, seems like a nice guy.
The classic scene for me in this, is where they are trying to navigate by the stars and ask Uncle Albert. 'Del Well it looks like a bloody rabbit don't it? I mean what do you think a bear looks like? Albert Well where would I find it? Del Standing up there on top of the glacier mint - you're giving me the hump you are Albert, '

Hull is a city in England so, that being the case, you really ought to know how English plurals work. The plural of comedy is comedies and no fucking apostrophe!
I’m originally from ‘Ull and at the time never knew this was been filmed. Me and a small group of friends were in the town centre on the day of the Lord Mayors Parade. We were walking through the crowds watching the floats go by when my friend noticed David Jason watching the show from an office doorway. He told us when we had passed so we nipped back to look and yes there he was but he soon legged it. Half an hour later we were passing Prospect Centre shopping centre and there was Nick Lyndhurst and a friend walking towards us. We were in disbelief as we didn’t know about the filming. The strange thing is they were both dressed in their Only Fools cloths Del in his red kind of puffer jacket with flat cap and Rodney in his camouflage with jeans. Looking back I wish I’d had the guts to talk to them, if they had wanted to haha.
Watched it a hundred times after midnight on my Betamix video recorder whislt writing reports for my degree! Del "I thought you always wanted to be a courier? Rodney "Yeh,for Club 18-30".
For anyone who hasn't seen this fantastic five-part documentary, the series is starting rerun again on Yesterday Channel from Thursday 16th April at 8pm or 9pm (on Yesterday +1) 😉

Can we take a moment to remember that after the first or second series they were going to cut the show! And then series 3 numbers started picking up and then they reached numbers of 24 million viewers! Literally my favourite programme of any genre! And yes I’m a plonker
Also David Jason originally planed to leave the show at the end of series 5 thankfully with the help of John Sullivan he changed his mind...and never considered quitting again even tho he was a established actor of many other work.
Everyone plays there role blindingly, in to hull and back! del, denzil,Abdul and Albert, Rodders, slater ect. Classic episode even more unique with no laughter makes it a true movie like experience but with the characters and places we know and love
What I love about this episode is the fact there is no audience laughter track, I can't watch " A Royal Flush" with the laughter track it has to be the original full length minus the laughter track.
I met David Jason once, he was doing a documentary about wood and wheels and stuff and he came round to my house because my uncle makes old fashioned wheels and things and we share a land plot with my uncle so, long story short David Jason came round to my house. I can’t remember the name of the documentary, but he signed one of our only fools dvds, I’ll try and find out the name of the documentary
I'd love to see a 'Christmas Special' being made, based on John's material that was cut and never used, there must be loads of it, considering that there were about 70 scripts written.
I read a deleted scene from the sat 13 episode. It takes place in a country pub just before they get stopped by the policeman. It was very funny and actually filmed... would love to see it but was still great reading it.

I've got the dvd box set but quite a lot of the episodes are edited it tells you on the back of the box set that for contractual reasons certain edits have been made. It totally spoils the box set all together. I think the BBC should re release the box set again uncut and remastered
Most of the episodes on iTunes and Amazon are uncut. The only 2 I noticed with cuts are "A Royal Flush" which John Sullivan edited himself, because he wasn't happy with the way Del is portrayed and "Yuppy Love" for music copyright.
When the head of the light entertainment dept accepted for the episode of hull and back he was probably like "Fromage Frais! Oh you know it makes sense!" xD
They need to go back to the original master tapes of Miami Twice and Hull and Back and scan them into Bluray quality or 4k. (they were only ones shot on film apparently)
i have some information about miami twice you might find interesting. it was originally in two parts, the first part which took place in england was shot on video tape, then the second part was shot on film in miami. that why it cant quite be remastered because the beginning wont match the quality of the end.
Nothing on british TV as touched this in the last 17 years. Oh and it finished 17 years ago. That just shows you that the writer john sullivan was a genius writer.
On small boats, the diesel emissions may make you sick first, if you are too near the exhaust. The fumes can hover around you, unlike a diesel car on a motor way.
OMG all these decades I thought it was nuts someone would sail up to a North sea rig and ask directions, then 80 seconds ago I find it was frequent before GPS... 😳😂
It is a very funny episode but it's also very silly, it transgresses the bounds of credibility and the show's strength up to that point was that it was very much a down to earth show.

Hull and Back is my personal favorite among all the episodes. All things age, but Only Fools and Horses humor is for the most part timeless.
To Hull and Back and The Jolly Boys Outing are the two best episodes of this wonderful series.
