All I can say is that you ROCK mate! Been using your mission guides to get "through" them and they helped a shitloads. Never even thought about death on this one, had you nto said so. I had way underlevelled chars. (Vanille(SAB): 5k HP, Snow(SENT): 7.5k HP, Hope(MED): 4.5k HP or so) and i got it on my 5th try! Cheers!

Note: There is a waystone in Oerba that will allow you to teleport back to GP. I believe it is mission 28 or thereabouts, and the mark is super easy. No need to actually "run back for ages" ;)

Thanks man. Took me ages to do it though :-P I had been "Death"ing Adamantoise before I remembered that I could do this battle for the Growth Egg and they died easy enough compared to that guy. The Marlboro Wand helps with Death casting as well.
Thanks for the video. I managed to beat all Cieth stone missions from 01 to the first 3 of the Titan's plus this one XD I haven't completed the game, I wanted the Egg to harvest CP of course before proceding to Chapter 12. I think I'll keep roaming on Pulse 1 or 2 days more :P I want to leave 1 of the secondary chains on my chars empty, because the 999k limit for the CP would be a waste if I don't reach the next expansion before I get that much CP in chapt 12.
well at the time, I switched Vanille/Hope/Snow to MED/MED/COM or to RAV/MED/COM, it worked, took a lot of effort, as I didn't have even close to 10k HP for any character, Vanille did have the Malboro Wand, so it was a lot more easier to kill the ochu. Quake also comes in handy!

lol, it does work. WAYS TO INCREASE IT - Have Vanilles Magic attack up, have decrese magic defence on neochu, have the "MALBORO WAND" (it increases debuff stats). Or just do what I did in the vid lol.
@EJsCornerStore You need to be able to get to Aggra's Pasture, and have a chocobo. So you need to beat missions 12 and 14, in order to unlock Chocobos, and defeat Barthandelus in Oerba. Then you can take the mission. Good bloody luck at that point in the game though.
@valkyrieValhala123 Your character gains one atb bar when they get there summon monster and the second go to the cyrstraium and in the bottom left corner it tells you what each class you can learn hp, magic, accesory, atb, etc...
It bothers me that you never use libra in your battles... but thanks so much for them!! They’ve helped me a lot! I started using your vids to complete my missions in order. Then when I finally got stuck at Cie’th stone 51, you say you did this one before the Titan’s Trials and I felt derp ;-; haha!
@TheAspiringDJ Tomorrow is gonna be 7 days since I got the game and now my character have 16750 Hope being the lowest and 28040 Snow being the highest. Advise: Farm CP until you can buy Death for Venille and get around 6500HP and go for the Neochu to try 'n get lucky with the spell so you can increase your CP farming.
Always have a medic and sen out at all times. And make sure u have a syn/med/sen cause if u lose ur shrouds nd not strong enough ur screwed. No need to summon cause shrouds will be gone
LMAO just done this. I had Vanille, Snow and Hope. I done the death on the main guy but then I was left blank. I didn't have the paradigms to combat the little guys, so I was left thinking ZOMG WHAT TO DO!!! So I used a summon to do some dmg and LMAO I got the limit breaker trophy from it too. But they were all still alive. I was left with having Snow as SEN, Hope as MED, and Vanille as SAB and used death as my only attack ;-; ofc I used 2 MEDs when needed. Took 18 mins, still got 5 star xD!!
50/50. Level 9 would be perfect. The thing is "Death" is quite random. But seriously GOOD LUCK getting growth egg before 12 or completing the game :P. If I was you, play til 13 and you will be much stronger then you WILL be able to do this.
Lucky Break works on the boss. I had Vanille/Fang/Hope and did Sab/Sen/Sab with speed and energy sashes on Vanille and Hope. Then when it's staggered I which to Rav/Com/Rav and defeated the boss. Took out the little guys afterwards.
@channmans Well first off, you don't need deceptisol, only aegisol and fortisol because the US version of the game makes the Ochus invulnerable to being Pre-empted (they were incredibly easy to kill if they are, which is why they changed that when converting from the JP to the US version). And even then, a lucky Death spell from Vanille would finish him, and using the sols would only make it easier. To be honest, you can just beat the game and come back to him when you can buy the sols. ~Fallen
deceptisol, as you can tell doesn't work, but have Vanille/Hope/Snow, as SAB/MED/SEN, they work better as Hope can heal a lot more. Have him wear the HP accessories. Lightning sounds a more better choice as she's more diverse. I did mine at lvl 9 crystarium, so it was more difficult, which is why I used hope, I wanted it before end game, so I attempted at least 5 times....
@bigpoppa611 What you have to do id beat mission 14, but in order to do this u must complete missions 1-13. After that THEN you can do Mission 55. I ran to Oerba without doing 1-14 so i spent 1 hr to and from nd spent 3hrs doin all 14 missions(including breaks cause of chores) on foot too.
i just got the growth egg and i have yet to beat the game and i only had lvl 4 in two of the crystiurms for my people and averaged 2 death spells before he killed me :D lol i hated it so much but it was soo worth it :)
Hey did you beat the game then do this mission cause I'm like at Eden and i want to get this.....my crystarium thing is at level 4, like stuck there cant upgrade. Do i have to keep playing into the story more first to get to level 9?
I used the same method and only had around 8k health for each... I'd recommend after killing big guy doing rav/rav/sent and when snows health is low med/med/sent.... Switch off and on until little ones are done
this was the most frustrating battle.. Had vanille sab. fang sen. hope med. took me at least 20 trys. and finally the bastard dies. the battle to finish was 27 minutes.. I will never do this again!
i've watch a few mission 55 video, I am surprised that u guys level were pretty low. I farmed a lot in the main story. I just start my post game, and I've maxed one role and max level 2 for 3 sub-roles. However, that's pretty impressive, u can still finish the mission with low level chars. in this case, u can start to farm with the growth egg. Maybe I shouldn't spend so much time in main game.
this is my first time watching but do u have to Do the Cieth Stones in order to get to mission 55 cuz i finished 1-32 and 56 57 58 And im not sure if i can do mission 55
just did this... took me like 4 trys and FINALLY got death of on the fourth attempt after like 4 failed deaths... those stupid damned fluffy ball things damn near killed my ass... lol
OK I just finished mission 14 . First question how can i expand my CP to rank 5? I have mine all maxed at 4 but cant go any further and second question, I cant find this tower anywhere on the map! I was just excited I rode my first chocobo but if i can double CP thatd be even better!
Another strategy for anyone if you don't have the patience for using Death, is to have Fang, Lightning and Snow in your party. I had Genji Glove, Speed Sash and Energy Sash equipped (don't worry about them being upgraded) and Bladed Lance Lvl 1 on Fang. Lightning had Helter-Skelter lvl 42 (I'm sure you can do this at a level 1 weapon though), two speed sashes, and two sorcerer's mark. Snow had Power Circle lvl 1, Adamant Bangle, General's belt, and two black belts. You should be able to kill Neochu using one instant-stagger. Roles used were Com/Rav/Sen, Com/Rav/Rav, Med/Med/Sen, Com/Rav/Com and Com/Com/Com The downside to this strategy is you'd have to use a Fortisol and an Aegisol.
if only one of your character is wearing the growth egg do the effect of double cp apply for all the characters or just that one character wearing the growth egg?
Another note for those trying to do this right when you unlock stage 9 of your crys as I just did: make sure Hope has Curaja before you attempt the mark, makes it a lot easier. My characters (Van/Snow/Hope) were all at about 5k hp save snow, who was at 7.5. Once death sticks, cast imperalga on each little a@#$% and chip away at his hp i.e., I bounced back between sab/sen/med > rav/sen/med. Took 11 min. but I got it haha.
so i just did this mission and got the growth egg. one question though, when you level up the growth egg, does it increase the cp earned even more than x2?
@higgins4131 Barthandelus in Chapter 11 was a pain with all my roles maxed for level 4 (Stage 8 of Crystarium). I am sure Orphan, or at least the other bosses are going to be harder. Lol.

Nvm,just went back after a break and tried it again.It took me about 10 tries using imperil on it then using death.well now I can star making about 19 mil every 24 hours of farming YAY.
this was hard for me.. my main problem was that i died too fast by the little minions as vanille, even with sent. the screech just kills me, 1 hit.. and snow died too fast from neochu and little minions. i used lightning as sent, worked really well with the elude. bad thing was.. after i finished neochu with death.. my paradigms practically only relied on death -_- and didn't really put offensive style that could keep me alive so i had to use death on those minions until there was 1 or 2 left xD
Tried for hrs yesterday and killed him once but died >=( today i killed him 3 TIMES in 20min span. I died 2 times and i was so pissed but i got kill on first death =D That gave time to kill 2 of the lil things be4 shrouds went down then I wasnt being bombarded as much so i could get hope to rebuff every1 with protect nd haste. My set up is Vanille(sab) Snow(sen ALWAYS) and Hope(med/syn) I use this guys strategy and my characters hp were like 5k for Snow, and 4k(4000-4500) on vanille and hope.
NOOO, trust me. I found a REALLY good way to farm gil, ill post a video up 2day on how to do it. 100% ingot or trap drop, no joke. It takes like 2/3 mins max.
Oh, I mean it is awesome and all, but just half way through, you can notice he gets a dry throat from talking a lot. He would keep his normal awesome voice if he just took a drink of water in between, I believe.

It's so fun doing this in Chapter 11. I maxed out everyone thanks to the Egg, and didn't even go back to Cocoon.

I recomend Vanille as Saboteur (death spell) Snow as sentinel (he has more HP) and Hope as healer (he's the best healer/ravager)

i stumbled upon this boss without doing the mission, i crushed him, didn't see what all the 'HARD' fuss was about

It is the best RPG out I think. Its A LOT better than Fallout 3 which is my last rpg game (marvel ultimate alliance 2 doesnt count :P )

It isnt active if you havent done missions 1-14, thats why. You need to do them and do 20-26 as they are on the way as well.
it starts as a belladona wand can be found in chapter 7 or bought

I got to it but the stone is not activated. i guess i need to do another mission for that one to be activated?

yeahboi i beat this after learning death with vanille-6385hp, snow-8260hp, and hope-5170hp..i use SAB,SEN,MED and RAV,SEN,MED :)

Oh, I mean it is awesome and all, but just half way through, you can notice he gets a dry throat from talking a lot. He would keep his normal awesome voice if he just took a drink of water in between, I believe.
