Love the POV in the lineup. Still probably doesn’t do it justice but its as close as i’ll ever get to that wave
Thanks! That was really nice format, like being out there. I haven't surfed in 40 years but I remember the line up, all the looking and paddling to get in the right place. Paddling like hell for the sets!
What a day that was! Absolute perfection. Stoked to the cut at 0:25 and insane watching you send it on some of those lumps. And stoked you made it on that one drop before the Matahi tow wave. That did not look like the set to fall on..
Best POVs on the internet!!! The last wave was INSANE!!!
Holy shit Nate that last one was so freaking nuts, air drop catch, layback, spit ! I love the POV out at chopes, you can just see how heavy the vibe is in the line-up but in a good way just heavy though ! Keep charging and we’ll keep feasting our eyes on this gold ! Yeah buddy yewwww 💪🏼🔥🤙🏼
I couldnt believe i ended up back on my balance and making it! Those are the most rewarding!
This is how I felt when it was 6-10 foot faces, not Hawaiian, at my local spot the other day lol.
Imagine just being out there sitting on your board munching on a cookie, damn.
What an EPIC day! I dig the fact that it isn't over-edited, and there's no music. More of this kind of content is what I would like to see. Growing up on Maui, and now going on year 3 in sub zero degree winters is kinda harsh at times. But when I can watch footage like this, and hear all the little (and big) nuance sounds of riding Cherry slabs, is really nice. Thanks for teleporting us to Chopes, Braddah Nate! Keep up the excellent work.
Bro you made it look like its easy and not dangerous at all. AWESOME MAN
Thanks Nate, I dont think anyones ever taken us into a POV paddle sesh at this spot yet. The cylindrical bowl at the bottom looks more perfect and round than anywhere iv seen. amazing!
Nathan - as real as it gets , including your efforts to get out there - sans sick music - you create the reality of west it’s like
great to see how it is in the line up there. Would be fascinating if you gave a bit of commentary as to how you navigated the crowd and what kind of local rules and vibe are happening out there
The stoke is heavy with this one. LoL Thx for the footage, Nathan!
You were patient to go that far. Crowd looks worse than Malibu.
What a Kool perspective thanks Nate how deep is the water before it breaks. Looks 60 to 80 then shallows out.
Great surfing dude! Youre definetly one of the best at surfing Teahupoo.
thankyou!!!!!!
I've been waiting patiently for this!!
I knew if anybody would, it'd be you!
you put the flo in florence..haha🥳🍻
Awesome go pro shots as always Nathan. Thank you 😁🤙 our planet is so beautiful man
The footage of the jetski ripping the wave was magic! Nice landing on the ski btw
Even the thumbnail is 🤩🤩🤩🤩.... keep up the gd shiiiiit!!!! U got the Welsh support!!! 🤙🤙🤙
Best youtube channel ever. Even though I despise youtube as tyrannical bullies at least we get to see some decent content from cool people like the amazing brothers Florence and similar.
The last drop was siiiiiick
Amazing footage. Fascinating to see that POV! (Because we're never going to see it first hand!)
Hello Nathan Ik you have seen this comment like a million times and I’m just any other ordinary kid but I love the raw POV videos they are so fun to watch Bc it’s like you are catching the wave too when I can’t surf it’s fun to watch keep up the great work I thought I was subscribed this whole time but I wasn’t sorry. So thank you for making these!!
Best mind surfing session EVER, Thankyou buddy 🇦🇺👍👌
My soul is calling for me to be there...
Can you give us a run down on the board and what fins you used please? Great Vid as always.
Casually chowing down on a weed brownie on the shoulder of the beast. Respect.
Bro that was the sickest shot while you were eating that cookie 😂😂
That last wave was crazy
Sick Nate! Was that Stewie on that first boogie tow? That thing was deeeeeep. Perfect day at the end of the road.
That first one is mental, I could mind surf that wrapping perfection all day
Dude, that's the best POV ever 🔥

Dude that was so sick I love it

Amazing footage thanks for the video
YEAH NATHAN!!!!
Omg this is amazing man
Love seeing that point of view with the guys in the line up. Why does it seem so many waves are going Unbidden?
That last oneeee💥💥
Surfing this place is so magical it should be illegal!
So sickkk
Hello greeting from 🇫🇷. I live and surf near Lacanau & Hossegor. Thanks for your beautiful vids. You are at a next level.... 🏄
The waves are magics
insane last drop
Why is that first wave so satisfying?
Loving that board
The Universe playing with and enjoying........itself!
Those heavy balls bought some much needed stability to that air drop
This is what I needed
You're living a dream life surfing everyday. Fishing too.
Way to get on the slabs. 2600+ miles from home. Damn bro-way to commit. 🏄
man just to be out there to hang out and paddle over a few of those waves would be incredible...I could never surf there but just to be out there to feel the waves would be a dream...how reckless would it be to just have a boat drop me out there with a board just to paddle over a few ..would that be scary as shit and a bad idea?
The jet ski high five 👌
first wave was sooooo clean, wtf!?
Thanks for letting us join in the fun.
damn that looks tough to navigate
Bru.. how crazy is that drop..
Crazy listening to the revving jet skis underwater @3:49 basically the opposite of dolphin speak
Perfect Teahupoo !!!
When you think you out of the zone and see it coming...paddle paddle paddle....lol
that crowd is intense
Awesome Dood!!!
Gnarly Nate killer session, Tahitian Tubes .

yeeeew
yeeeeeeeeeeew
too sick
Amazing
Complimenti bel video!
Alors là gros big up à celui qui à dit "bon appétit"
Paddle session more like barrel session brother.
Casually eating a granola bar in the lineup, LOL!!!
So crowded! Does everybody get a wave or just the big dogs?
The local boys hold it down for sure and take their waves, but they also often give waves in friendly way! Its a working system
Impressive, but I took it to another level today. Nathan, I put a little extra pepper on my eggs. Could it have made me sneezed? Maybe. I take chances, friend. Not just for the seasoned taste, but for the raw thrill. Some say I'm brave, some say I'm crazy. I just do what I do.
“RAW POV WILD…” tends to conjure a very different theme.
Fantastic footage nonetheless.
Righteous.
soooo rad..
My dream spot
so butiful wave
Fortunately for me not a single wipeout in this session so i called it earlier than usual! Unfortunate cause the footage woulda been crazy to show you guys! Lol! Enjoy!
Thank you for the best surf content bru. The lifting has been paying off. Would love to see you put some focus on the Olympic lifts, specifically with the goal of increasing your 1rm in snatch, during your next off season. I want to see the effect it has on a surfer with your genetic profile, skill level and experience.
@@francoisstrength dude, we love the Oly lifts, been working on them often again! 1 rep max has varied over the years, all time best 205lbs squat snatch! Maintaining probably a 175-185 squat snatch now a days! Clean and jerk 225lb
Max all time squat clean 245lbs! Want to get my numbers back up again! Been doing way more volume lately compared to less rep and heavy lifting! Feeling most fit ive been heading into winter engine/strength balance wise!
That's amazing numbers actually. I would be weary of too much high reps with a barbell (worried about shoulder overuse issues down the line), would rather see you do conditioning with something less hard on the joints like a kettlebell, and cardio equipment. I'm now also even more curious also to your powerlifts, especially backsquat and deadlift, and also what your bodyweight is at. A lot of surfers around here think lifting will make them sink like the weights themselves or something 😂. I myself ended up being far more talented a powerlifter than a surfer (500lb deadlift within a month of training, 660lb all time PR. I can surf and get tubed and everything but no airs or freaky stuff, and it took an insane amount of dedication to learn in comparison.) so convincing other surfers to get into lifting has been tough.
@@francoisstrength those numbers are huge!! I have a tough time gaining strength, probably because so much cardio(surfing) interfering with gym gains! Bodyweight 175lbs, DL 365lb all time, 300lb now, backsquat 335lb all time, prob 275lb now havent tested in a year or so! Bench i dont even want to tell you lol i have been working on it! Shoulders are healthy for most part, small injuries have accrued over time, jaws and pipe wipeouts are not shoulder friendly, ive already had a lifetime of over use paddling so its just keeping them strong, durable and loose now.
Yea my bench... When surfing a lot, 220 is heavy for me, which is my bodyweight. Your numbers are actually really good for a endurance athlete. I don't surf as much as you and I compete in strength sports, so I take huge amounts of time out of the water (last thing I want you to do, and last thing I'd recommend any professional doing, that is, dedicate more than 15% of recovery reserves to anything other than the main sport your practicing. What's your bodyweight like? If you're around 170lb which you look like you are, those are primo numbers. Anything beyond a 2x bodyweight squat, 2.5x bodyweight deadlift, and 1.2x bodyweight bench press is literally useless outside of powerlifting, and frankly getting to the unhealthy side of things.
