Isn't it the best when they're not expecting you? I once stood alone on Naples gangway for 2 hours because I was the only sign on that day and no-one onboard new I was coming. But Shiplife is the best life!
I dread this day EVERY SINGLE TIME. Early morning travel from hotel, pushing around luggage, sweating, paperwork, being stuffed with info you're going to forget, drills, getting lost, getting confused, orientation meetings, tripping over you and your roommate's open luggage, sound check, trying to fit in a shower and dinner, then 4 hours of playing music that night.....And then afterwards, best sleep you ever get, haha.
First day is the craziest. Especially if you have never been on a cruise ship as a passenger. Most new hires know on their contract whether its for them or not. Its not for everyone for sure. Its a lifestyle not everyone wants. I started 15 years ago as a lowly junior assistant purser and now I am an officer. It gets in your blood.
Great vlog, like the editing a lot! I have a question: did you have to get an approval from the Cruise Line or security office to record footage on the ship, especially in crew areas?
Yo, thanks for watching! No I didn’t get approval, I just shot footage and tried to be relatively discreet. It’s technically against the rules, but cruise ship security has bigger things to worry about. Do you work on ships?
Do it! I can’t speak to what action they will or won’t take, but you’ll probably be fine. Just don’t draw too much attention to yourself. Also, I’ve found that you have to shoot with the intention that you’re not doing anything wrong. Act like you’re allowed to do it. Take your name tag off if you have to. 🤙
Thanks for watching. Yes, I was very fortunate to have that room. I was one of the principal actors in the musical on board, so they hooked us up. It felt like a home.
Hi! Very soon I will join the ship too) give some tips about first days, what to do, how to organize everything, and maybe some useful information that you think will be necessary) thank you) have a wonderful X-mas)
Just curios i want to work on a cruice ship dont really care which one. But you said they take your passport cold i lets say have 2 passport and hide one so i can use the other one to show that am over 21 on off days? Or wil they look for all sort of ids?
I worked as an actor/musician in one of the mainstage theatre shows. I no longer work for the cruise ship company, though. Moving to NYC in the spring.

Hi ! Quick question do all employees have there own room or depends on what position you have such as a waitress ?
Hey! Thanks for reaching out. Not every employee has their own room. Many do, although you’ll most likely be sharing a bathroom regardless.
SKYWAY SPIRIT okay great thanks for the information ! Your awesome !
You’re welcome! Thanks ❤️🤙
what cruise do you work for?
I worked for Norwegian Cruise Line. Overall, good experience. But three contracts was enough for me.
What s the company name?
Norwegian Cruise Line. Check them out!
You live alone in your cabin? O:
I do. Not everyone has their own cabin, though. I’m grateful.
SKYWAY SPIRIT o: Gosh, that might be the best of the best!
