@@deanabennett8461 i’ve been a musician my whole life. I’ve written original music and played covers. If you’re at the point in your career where you don’t care what your audience thinks about your music then it’s time to leave the studio and stage and become a garage or basement band for yourself and your band mates. That’s evolution.
@@ascensionenergetics85 to me it's the other way around. write what you want and the audience will follow if it's good. it's kinda how a synth heavy band with an operatic singer found popularity in the first place...

Keep playing dude, maybe someday you'll understand something about music.
@@nocturnal03 I concur. The bands that do music to please the audience are generally quite dull. The artists that do their thing, follow their hearts, in the other hand, are those who really stand out, touch your soul and make new paths, their marks in the history of art and humanity ❤
@@Animagladius and an Assassin's Creed hoodie 😁 we're planning to have Auri (him and Johanna) on my Gathering of Geeks podcast when it's time for their next promo run 🤩
Yeah, he's also noted for Islamophobic and supremacist comments. A lot of his writing is inspiring and beautiful, but he's also used his fame to say utter bullshit. Like when a Muslim kid in America was arrested and brutalized by police because he had a homemade clock in his backpack as part of a school project, and someone apparently feared it was a bomb, and Dawkins tweeted that they were right to suspect him. Just a pretty terrible human being when you look at his public statements past his writing.
We are all humans, unfortunately, we're all flawed. It does not lower the value of his work, it just means that you shouldn't ask a scientist for an opinion about topics that require social skills. Ask a scientist only about his work and science. Everything else is opinion, and that has no real value, even if it comes from a scientist.
We won't forgive, or forget this, either: "Richard Dawkins has been stripped of a “humanist of the year” award after controversial comments he made on social media about transgender rights."
I understand his point of no changing anything about the past because that brought the band to where it is now but, come on... no regrets at all, Tuomas? I understand that he's happy with the band now and everything, but I've heard him say several times that he would've managed certain situations differently in the past (even if the result would be the same), but at least, show some humbleness...?
@@Vaamp92 to me this felt more like a deep acceptance of the good and bad, as everything in life can be a learning experience and that's what makes us who we are. If something had been done differently, he might not be who he is or where he is today, and he seems to be quite a peaceful, happy person.
@@bearwiseman yes, totally. But sometimes his "coldness" surprises me. I'm not even thinking of Tarja or Anette at this point, but Marko... at some interview in the past he said that he did not miss him in the album (I don't remember the words, but that was the idea), and I think this is pretty bold and even arrogant. Floor recently said in an interview that she did miss Marko in the album, but with Tuomas I feel that we never hear this empathy from him in interviews - perhaps it's just a Finn thing, though... I'm Spanish so we do talk a lot about our feelings and emotions haha
@@Vaamp92 Firstly, he´s said multiple times speaking about emotions is nearly impossible for him - but he shows them in the songs. Secondly - yeah, that might also be a bit "Finnish man" -stuff (though irl they do speak, when private). Thirdly: I think the "It changed nothing, now is now" (or smtg like that) was after Marko came out with Tarja, telling they found the old friendship which was somewhat blurred by NW. And that if they wanted him back, some things in the band (economy / organization or smtg like that) must change radically.. And I quess that could feel a bit harsh, and the answer could be a way of dumping the pain. After he left they made the joint statements of everything being okay with the band and that it was Markos own decission and had nothing to do with Tuomas.. And there you are.. Several years later, out of the blue, there seems to be things he had in his teeth about the band and Tuomas... But he didn´t say them straight to face but in some random interviews... I, at least, could feel a bit (or quite) betrayed and hurt.
@@sateentuoksu oh yes, absolutely! I'm sure marko and tarja touring together didnt help either... Not only touring but singing nightwish songs!!! That must have pissed tuomas off, and I understand it perfectly. I dont know, i think they try to hide it but there is always drama in that band... Also, the "badmouthing" of floor about troy or tuomas' decisions (like no touring, increasing troy's protagonism in the singing, not fully liking the mixing, etc.). I mean... Wow
@@Vaamp92 And you started with Tuomas being cold.. well well well. I think he just is a gentleman. Who doesn´t want to spread any negativity to the world (the world has plenty already). And your answer made me somewhat question your motives, too...

@@sateentuoksu I do not want to speak for Tuomas, but I found it remarkable and I thought about it, so I made the remark, to invite you all to also think about it. I agree that it is something along this line. That they connect personally and musically on such a high level that the simple fun together was not in the forefront. But it could also be simply that she is a woman and he did not want rumours to start again. I don't think so, given her status as a goddess, but, again, I do not want to speak for Tuomas.
1:10 Doesn’t care what listeners think of the album. I’m starting to understand this new album better now.
After 28 years I think he deserves to write/compose what HE feels and not write just for fans. Artists evolve...
@@ascensionenergetics85 He's never been a slave of his listeners, what's wrong with that?
He's humble enough to say he didn't invented symphonic metal but come one, he created a new form of music, he managed to stay consistent over the years, Nightwish is basically one of the most famous band in the world but hey, he should play in a garage cause some idiot said so on youtube.
Is he wearing a The Last Of Us shirt? He really IS all that, huh? :P
@@Animagladius and an Assassin's Creed hoodie 😁 we're planning to have Auri (him and Johanna) on my Gathering of Geeks podcast when it's time for their next promo run 🤩
Dawkins has some problematic ideas about those of us who are Disabled. I was really shocked.
Actually, all the the scientific community was schocked. Never meet your heroes is an accurate quote.
We won't forgive, or forget this, either:
"Richard Dawkins has been stripped of a “humanist of the year” award
after controversial comments he made on social media about transgender rights."
Thank God he wasn't wearing that ridiculous top hat.
@@TontoEpstein he did have a hat but he took it off bc of the spotlights 😅
Haha
